My $.02. I don't usually travel interstates, I like back roads if possible and find that in most smaller towns, you can ask the local police men and they will usually direct you to a save place to sleep and come by and check on you a few times in the night. Also most any closed business will not object to parking in their lot if you are out before they open. Don't think I would try this in a large city, but just feel safer in a small town. I even have stopped in a closed bar very later to get some sleep knowing they would not be open until late the next day and several times in a strip mall pa

I have a question, not that it makes any difference to me, will not even consider a Ford Truck. They lost me when they went to the twin I-beam front end in mid 1960's and their engineering does not seem to have improved, consider the 2 piece spark plug they had. I have been a mechanic since high school both at dealerships and fleet mechanic so I am not complete uninformed. When you take an engine and increase power by turbocharging and blowers you can get a lot of power, check funny cars at drag races, however you have an engine that is not durable. All this to ask how long are these small eng

You need to remember, most 150 series truck buyers only use them as passenger vehicles and only ever now and haul a small load like some mulch or fertilizer a few times a year. If you are going to work one hard you will get a 250 or larger. Therefore the durability of the bed is not a big concern.

How can blocking the beach be the end of an era, lakes in Florida do not have sandy beaches as a rule. To have a sandy beach, you have to have wave action, most lakes have vegitation right down to the water and no beach. Let nature bring it back to normal, or just let grass grow and keep it mowed instead of sand.

I may be wrong, but if you can rent the beach for a private party, you should be able to rent a private campfire with chipmunks if you have enough money. -
So...what's the difference?
BigTom replied to twiceblessed....nacole's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Also would depend on the soil, here where it is loose and sandy water soaks in fast and does not stand and make mud as bad as if the soil is packed and has a lot of clay so water is not absorbed as fast. My barn has a hand washing sink that dumps on ground and there is never any mud under it to notice. -

number of campers predicament
BigTom replied to dercamper's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
probably all they would do is make you pay for another site, that is what they did with us when we tried to put a camper and a pop up on same site -

Maybe there is another fiend staying at the fort at the same time that could add a couple to there reservation. -

Other than the magic band problem, I would just not say anything and not cause a problem and don't think Disney will say any thing. Have seen more than that number on a site more than once. -

Nail in the tire...
BigTom replied to twiceblessed....nacole's topic in RV Repairs on the Road, at FW and Elsewhere
Eternabond, I would think duct tape. -
You have to watch those tree rats, I have a chair with a pocket on one side the the tree rats chewed up trying to get to a peanut inside a bag in the pocket with me sitting in the chair, they are real sneaky and quite.

If it does not leak, you should be fine. -
Probably have them sign a form that they won't sue WDW if a gator eats them.

I also have an older 8' pop up, a 1989 Jayco, have removed very small sink and inside stove for more counter space, (sink leaked around drain and was useless, did not want to heat up inside of camper and we like eating outside at campground besides food is always better cooked and eaten out of doors) we take a small microwave if we oneed to heat anything inside and use the top as counter space so it doesn't take much room. Is much more comfortable than a tent and easier to set up. Cost was very cheap and easy to tow, i like my pop up.

Adding ac to our pup-minimum BTU?
BigTom replied to 2beagle's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I bought a 13,500 BTU unit for my Jayco, it came with an 8,200 btu unit and i was not happy with the cooling of it. Was bearable at night, but too warn during day even in shade. I bought one from Adventure RV and replaced it my self, took about 2 hours. Ended up giving the small one away as no one wanted to install one that small. In Florida, you need all you can get. If I was doing it again, would check a heat pump -
