  1. We stayed a week at Anastasa several years ago and took the goast tour one night just for the fun and learn about it then. Had a lot of fun and learned some history about city legend maybe true or not, but had a good time and can say been there and done that and got the shirt that glows in the dark. Taking the GKs up for a week this summer if health will let me. Probably will not take tour again, once was enough.
  2. Google haunted lighthouse St. Augustine and there are several articles about it.
  3. Did you know that lighthouse is haunted?
  4. We could not even get a land line until I was out of college, the line ended about 1/4 mile away and to get one we would have had to pay for [oles and wire, therefore no phone service. We lived out it the sticks, haven't moved except about 50 feet, but have even changed home town.
  5. This is not only a under age problem, I have seen a lot of clearly old enough drivers that do not follow the rules. All you have to do is sit and watch and observe the traffic, speeding, passing stopped buses, careless driving, drinking while driving, and such happen all the time. Also a lot of people do not realize how unstable a golf cart is, raise it up and put oversize tires on it and it get worst, they turn over real easy at high speeds. The rules need to be followed or Disney just might no longer allow us to bring our carts. Don't get me started on loud radios or blowing horns every 10 s
  6. I don't think she got arrested for allowing her son to drive the cart, I think it was her treatment of the officer that got her into trouble.
  7. How long is your rig, Anastasa state park takes RVs to 40' long
  8. Back to the original thread, seems like to me instead of renting a camper, it would be cheaper to buy a used unit and find somewhere to leave it in Florida if you come back several times a year if you don't want to tow it far. I paid less than 1000 for mine, had AC and was usable with no modifications. That is not much more than a week's rental fee. I think a fiend would be willing to store it if they were not responsible if something were to happen to it. I have several acres that are cleared and mowed regularly if needed.
  9. I agree, don't really care for gator meat, but don't wear boots either, instep is too high to get them on.
  10. No only do they get long, they also get wide, notice how big that one is in the article, must be at least 3-4' across, and they can run at a high speed, but only a short distance
  11. Probable still recovering from the party, takes a while to get over some parties.
  12. We own a 40 acre block of old phosphate pits (strip mine) that we purchased in the 1950s to water our farm. I saw a gator in mid 50 that was about 6' long, saw what I think was the same gator until early 2000s and he was at least 18-20' long, couldn't get any one to get a good measurement for me for some reason. He just dissappeared, probably died of old age. We still have a few in the pits and no longer use the water so no one brothers them and I enjoy seeing them when they are swimming around. Largest one I have seen lately has bee around 10'.
  13. Must have left the door open too long
  14. Almost every body of water in Florida, except your bathtub (do not leave door open too long), has a gator in it, they won't bother you if you don't bother them.
  15. OK Yvonne, you have made us wait long enough, tell us about the good times you had.
  16. I got a call from Fort Wilderness once when I had a reservation that I did not show up for and they call and wanted to know if I had forgotten, which I had, or if I had a problem on the way there. The call came early after first day. Cost me a days rental fee, but rest of reservation was canceled at no charge. So if someone does not show up, they know about it.
  17. Knew I should have crashed that WWW, looking forward for what I missed.
  18. If Disney is reading this forum as we think they are, they already know the problems we have with the way things are being run.
  19. There is anything wrong with your eyes, the ink and paint they use to write is just cheap and gets fuzzy. 20 years ago it was very clear and now I need cheaters to read almost any thing.
  20. The 100 loop is not as tight as the other loops and have sites for up to 40' units, also the sites are really longer than you would think, we had a short one rated for 25' and it was long enough for 40', would have been tight getting it in, roads were narrow there. Site 093 was the one we had, have reservations for this summer also. If there on a Saturday be sure to go to the farmer's market at the amphitheater right next door. We spent a week there and taking GKs this summer for a week. If you want to see the tourist traps, get a ticket for tour train, we had a 3 day ticket on red line and en
  21. I wear a Mickey Watch that my wife bought me about 40 years ago on main street. It keep perfect time and has been worn almost everyday.
