  1. Welcome!! You don't need a cart and walking with a double stroller and kids isn't crazy either. We usually have a stroller because we travel with our grandkids a lot. We usually walk to the marina or outpost instead of the bus, unless the weather is bad. Have a great time!!!!!
  2. If you have someone that is military or DOD you could have your wedding at Shades of Green. I don't know if they do weddings for non military or DOD. My daughter had her wedding there and it was wonderful.
  3. Lucky you!!!! Have a safe trip and wonderful time at The Fort!!
  4. We have reservations checking in on January 2 and were hoping to get in a few days earlier. I keep checking, but no luck. The most frustrating thing is that I know a lot of people check out on January 1. So, I will just keep calling and calling and calling!!!
  5. I will look into Tropical Palms. Is it off of 95 or 4? We are basically looking for a campground to stay for a couple of days before we get to The Fort. So, something between the Florida border and The Fort.
  6. We are arriving at The Fort on January 2, 2014. Hopefully something will open up for an earlier arrival, but we need a back up plan. We will be traveling with my daughter and 2 grandkids while my son in law is deployed. If The Fort doesn't open up, we were looking at other campgrounds for a few days. Does anyone know anything (good or bad) about Pecan Park? I post this in the off site forum and realized that I should have posted it here.
  7. I wish they would offer it for everyone. It would be so much easier to make monthly payments on our passes.
  8. We travel from Street, MD. That's 976 miles. My DH does all the driving. It's a straight shot once you get on I95. You stay on 95 to 4 and the next exit is The Fort.
  9. Our last house was in a development with an HOA. Never again!!!!!!! They told us it was against the rules to put up a flat pole with the American flag flying on it. You don't want to know what my husband told them they could do with their HOA. We have since moved and do not have an HOA. I will never live in an area that has an HOA again!!!
  10. In Maryland they have a grandfather clause. They can change the rules all they want, but what was in effect when you bought the condo will always be in effect. I don't know how it is where you live. Hope this helps.
  11. Disney also allows 10 people per camp site. If you are traveling with more than 2 adults this can add up too. I was looking at Frontier Town in Ocean City, MD to compare the prices. You have to take a shuttle or drive to the beach. Here they are: Full Hook-up: range from 45 to 101 for 2 adults depending on dates Children 11 to 16: $6 Adults: $12 Guests: $6 to $12 depending on dates You get 1 car and a 2nd car is $2 Maximum is 6 people per site Only one MH, camper, 5th wheel, tent per site Pets: limited to 2 $150 deposit that is refunded in no damage to site $50 ch
  12. There is a no park walmart site and it lists all walmarts in the country that you can't park at.
  13. In Florida you can't park at Walmart, rest area, camping world, or anywhere else I am guessing. I was told that it was a Florida ordinance. We are set to arrive January 2. Hopefully a TA can get us in a few days earlier.
  14. I think going over Christmas is something everyone should experience at least once. We did and it was "Magical". However, we now go before or after Christmas. If I won the lottery, I would go over Christmas again!!!!!
  15. We were at The Fort August 7 to August 17 and didn't have any trouble with the mosquitoes or flies. We were in the 1700 loop. I would say the storms were not a problem. It usually rained between 4 and 5:30 and we were eating. By the time we headed out it was clear.
  16. Mickey's Backyard Barbecue is great too. It's a little pricey, but the kids have a great time. There is a country band and the kids can dance. Also, the characters are there.
  17. Does anyone know when the Christmas decorations are taken down in the parks? Trying to get a trip planned around daughters due date, but want the grandkids to see the decorations. I know they are up in January, but not sure for how long. Thanks
  18. Thanks, I will pick up one tomorrow. I have two 25ft cables, but one cable would be much better.
  19. What length coaxial cable is recommended to connect to the cable box. Our cable inlet is on the passenger side of the MH about halfway down. The MH is 38ft. We knew exactly what length we needed in our previous MH, but not this one. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. We leave on Monday. Thanks
  20. Use the Fort Fiend app. We also went around to every loop that we were interested in and checked to see if we could fit. I have all the information in a binder. That way we will know immediately if we will fit.
  21. Got the beeswax and repair tape. Thanks for the information. We will seal it this weekend. Also, I have read that awnings should be treated every year. Our awning is 20 years and I doubt that it has ever been retreated. Any recommendations?
