North East PA to Fort
disneylitch......Debbie replied to Goose's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
We travel from northern Harford County Maryland and stop at South of the Border Campground. It's not fancy, but clean and easy to get in and out of. We have a 39ft MH and tow an 8ft enclosed trailer. Also, we go 695 to 95. -
Anyone ever stay at a Wal-Mart?
disneylitch......Debbie replied to PGHFiend's topic in Camping To and From the Fort
We have stayed at Walmart and always go on the site to verify that we can park there. However, the past 2 trips we have stayed at South of the Border campground. It's only about $25 per night and is easy on and off of I95. It gives us a chance to turn off the generator and plug in the MH for the night. It's clean, but not fancy. Since we are only staying for the night that is all that matters. We are coming from northern Harford County in Maryland. -
We leave bedding, linens, etc. in the MH. Unopened food is kept in plastic containers with lids. One time we didn't do this, we wound up with a very large field mouse in the MH. It actually ate through the wall, heat duct, some electrical, and basically cost us a lot of time and money. Since we live in farm country, we never leave any food that could attract mice. We also use moth hangers in the MH and undercarriage. This seems to help.

Welcome!!! I also live in Maryland, but I'm in Northern Harford County not far from Delta, PA. -
We prefer the 1700 loop. We love the full hook up loops. In my opinion, they are larger and quieter. Also, they are equal distance from the marina and the outpost. We usually bike or walk to either destination. The full hook up loops are also close to the pool, movies, and campfire without being on top of them.

Just saw on Facebook rumor about the Fort
disneylitch......Debbie replied to PrincessNana's topic in Disney Rumors Board
I read that post as well. If you think about it, Disney makes lots of money on The Fort. Campsite prices go up, no discounts, and yet we continue to visit. Plus, you have to figure in the snowbirds that stay for months. Go figure!!! The is no place like The Fort. We love it!!!!! -

Our first family trip to The Fort was when our kids were 5, 3, 18 month. We were there for a week and had a seven day pass. Now, we bring out grandkids. On our next trip they will be 4, 3, 18 months. We will be there for 3 weeks and are getting the 10 day pass. Our grandkids live in California at Camp Pendleton and go to Disneyland. Even at this age, our granddaughter prefers Disney World in Pop-Pop's motorhome. I would do the 4 day pass. Take advantage of your 2 year being free. When we take the grandkids, they take a nap. In the summer, we let them play at The Fort during the day and nap. T -
Just book our trip for Halloween 2015. Got a full hook up site. We have the daughter, son in law, grandkids, and hopefully my Mom going. This is the first time our son in law has been able to go with us in 4 years because of deployment and military duties. So excited!! A week ago there wasn't available and now there is availability for all site levels. Go figure. Our oldest granddaughter, she will be 4, can't wait to trick or treat at The Fort. Hopefully a lot of fiends will be there too!!

We are thinking about visiting The Fort the middle of June. This will be the first trip since my Dad passed and we are bringing my Mom. Also, we are bringing my daughter, son in law, and 3 grandkids. My daughter and grandkids are coming to visit in May and my son in law will fly into Orlando for our visit. This is also the first time my son in law has been with us since he was deployed. We are hoping to come for 2 weeks and I was wondering if anyone knows of any campsite discount available? Thanks in advance

The TCD Gang Goes to Disneyland!
disneylitch......Debbie replied to Tri-Circle-D's topic in Trip Reports
Also, The World of Color was awesome at California Adventure. My daughter said that usually the show is only about 15 minutes, but the Christmas version was about 30 minutes. We were at California Adventure for New Year's Eve and it was very low key. Disney World definitely does a better job at New Year's Eve. At least that is my opinion. -
The TCD Gang Goes to Disneyland!
disneylitch......Debbie replied to Tri-Circle-D's topic in Trip Reports
We were in Disneyland and California Adventure December 29-31. I loved It's a Small World, the Haunted Mansion, and the Jingle Cruise for Christmas. Walking through the castle was cool too. There are aspects of Disneyland that I like better and aspects of Disney World that I like better too. The CM's at Disney World are much better in general. My granddaughter, she is 3 1/2, loved ice skating at Downtown Disney. It was her first time on ice skates and can't wait to ice skate again. I don't think I can justify spending the money to go to Disneyland when I live in Maryland. We were vis -
I don't have any pictures because my son-in-law has all of the pictures on his phone right now. This was the first time that I have visited Disneyland and the Christmas decorations were beautiful. It's a Small World was fantastic. It is totally decorated for Christmas. The Haunted Mansion was done in Nightmare Before Christmas. It's a shame that Disney World doesn't do this. My daughter and son-in-law flew me out to babysit for the Marine Corps Ball and decided that I needed to go to Disneyland. We will be going again when my husband and I surprise that grandkids for Christmas. Will t

You will love The Fort!! You don't need a golf cart, you can walk. If you are driving you can also bring your bikes and enjoy the fort that way. Have fun!!
