  1. Carol- This is kind of cheating, because you mentioned that you went to the Living Seas in Epcot in your trip report (and posted this same photo), so I am going to guess that this was in the Living Seas Pavilion in Epcot. Keeping with the aquatic theme, does anyone know where this one is (I'm calling it a Hidden Mickey)?: TCD
  2. WL is kind of right. This one is actually in the entry way for the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. Since the carving is rather hard to spot, and not at all obvious, I maintain that it better fits the definition of a HM, no a DM. Those definitions could use some work, aren't almost all HM's deliberate? TCD
  3. Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying. I'll have a photo (or two) (or three) (you know how I roll) along those lines in my soon-to-be-launched Kickin' off Summer TR. I still am not believing that there was a lounge with a rotating bar in Inverness Florida. Park View Lanes? I didn't know it had such a fancy name, and I'm fairly certain that there is no Park within view of that place (nor did the building have any windows from which to view the Park even if there was one), but that probably is the place. I sometimes (and always unsuccessfully) try to find shortcuts through that neck of the wo
  4. Shhhh! Let's keep this place secret! OK to let the Fiends know, but no one else. This is our new favorite Counter Service in Epcot. At lunch time, you can order at the window, and take your food inside. In the Air-Conditioning! Awesome. When dinner time rolls around, this becomes a full-service sit-down place with the prices to match. It's nice to be able to use it for lunch. Great job on the micro report. Did you rent that lens locally (like in Clearwater?) as you know, we are practically neighbors. My DD is a budding photographer, and I would love to rent her a lens for $40 some time. TCD
  5. Hey Lug! I missed the start of your report. But I'm all caught up now (which didn't take long!) Great job so far! Looking forward to more. I've never been to these springs. Looks nice! TCD
  6. Dave- Great job on this trip report. But, I am puzzled about your title. When did you get defeated? I see nothing but winning here. Duh! Winning!! And memo to Donnie: Young ladies probably would prefer not to be described in terms such as the "frizzy headed one." Just sayin' TCD
  7. The way I see it, this guy's a genius. He must have seen the sign that says "No Fishing from the Beach," and he just figured he would wade out just a bit. He's not fishing from the beach now, is he? I wish we weren't pressed for time, or I would have watched him for a while. BTW, in my next TR, I will be posting a photo which shows why wading out near those weeds isn't a very smart thing to do. TCD
  8. The ABC Liquors Bar in Inverness was called a lounge? And it had a rotating bar? You are playin' with us, right? I've been to Inverness, and I am not believing this at all. Maybe that cheap booze just had you thinking that the bar was spinning? Did you ever go drinking at the bowling alley by the blinking light in Holder? It is kind of like the bar scene in Star Wars. Except substitute fellers (and gals) in overalls for the aliens. TCD
  9. Wow, S70, that boat looks great! Y'all do great work. That boat my friend and I bought back in the day was a Bayliner bow-rider, similar in design to yours. We didn't change a thing on it. We used it all Summer, and then sold it the next Spring for a couple of hundred dollars more than we paid for it! It is a perfect boat for lakes, and even out in the Gulf. I know you will have a lot of fun with it! TCD
  10. Well, even with the Fort, we could have made it to AK. But, we went to Epcot twice instead. We had Fastpasses for Epcot, and that's where we left the car. If not for that, then AK it would have been. Yep. I've been to Naples. My sister and her husband lived there for a while. Very nice place. My younger brother and sister are real beer connoisseurs. Not me. The Troll tried to shame me once by announcing that I drink cheap beer. But, it's the truth, so it doesn't bother me. I like cheap beer. TCD
  11. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Did you say Lake Tarpon? That's in my neck of the woods! Back when I was young and single, a friend and I bought a boat together and used the heck out of that thing all summer. On Lake Tarpon. We used to water ski almost every weekend. Good times! Based on how well your golf cart turned out, I can't wait to see the boat project. I guess you will have to take two vehicles with you on this trip? TCD
  12. They were doing this traffic directing earlier this month when we visited. In my opinion, these ding-dongs create more of a problem than they solve. I just cut through the 100 loop when I see them. TCD
  13. Hey Ashley! Great to see you here! Yeah, I consider myself to be pretty cool. My girls, on the other hand, don't always think so. And Mrs. TCD definitely does not think so. And, she is right! (like always) They still have something like you are describing at Busch Gardens. It is a great deal. I believe they call it the Funpass now. We are probably going to get those for the Summer- we need to try out that new Cheetah Chase, or whatever it's called. They have a few very good coasters there. Last summer, we would sometimes go over just an hour before closing, park in our secret (free) park
  14. Yes you do! And, there are even a few Shoe Tree photos in some of those reports. Do you have any photos to share from your trip? Great to see you here! TCD
  15. Lou- Great idea for a thread! Here's one of my favorite Hidden Mickeys. I think this clearly meets the definition of a Hidden Mickey: I had been in the room where this is many times before I finally noticed it. And I only noticed it because I read about it in the Hidden Mickey guidebook they sell at WDW. Has anyone else seen this one? TCD
  16. Hmmm. Maybe that wasn't a hijack after all. That's OK. Because it is time to finish this little trip report already. This was, after all, just a day trip. And, I have another report to get going on. So, we will wrap up the photos with this post. We are still at the Fort. Waiting for our chicken. I am taking a quick look around the Settlement Trading Post. As of the date of this visit, there had been no news for a long time about the plans to build a new pavilion in this area. On previous trips there were lots of survey markers spotted around here, and even a test well was dug, but then everyt
  17. Leslie- Thanks for the explanation on renting points. It is something that I intend to try one of these days, but it does sound like an awful lot of work, and then there's the no-cancellation issue. I'm glad that it worked out for you, and that you had a great trip! TCD
  18. Booo! Do you know how uncrowded it would have been at the MK after that rain? But, we had one of those Living Seas intro rains on our Spring Break trip, so I know what you mean about not wanting to be out in it. I am enjoying your report and photos! TCD
  19. Irish Car Bombs? I never heard of those. On the night of my 18th birthday (when the legal drinking age was 18), I was working as a bus boy at a restaurant/bar. The manager was giving me a drink he called Snakebites all night long. They were made with Peppermint Schnapps and some kind of whiskey. Long story short, I needed a ride home that night, and I was praying at the porcelain altar all day the next day. I have not touched Peppermint Schnapps since. Wait a sec. Is this a thread hijack? Yes, I think this is a hijack. And, that's a funny story. I know it's not funny to you, but it is a
  20. Wow- talk about a last minute trip! That is really weird how the truck didn't want to make the turn! Can't wait to hear all about your trip! TCD
  21. Thanks! Those sound good! And easy! I might whip up a batch of these in the TCD toaster oven on our next Fort trip. That sounds like a great idea! And, I have a vague recollection of some type of corn-bread like variation of crescent rolls. Those would be good for a Mexican variation of the recipe. TCD
  22. Oh! Good job! I had no idea that you were back at the Fort. I'll look for your mini report. TCD
  23. Yay, I can see your photos now! We have been to the Space Center a couple of times. That Vehicle Assembly Building always captures my attention. Photos never do a good job of showing how darn big that building is. I thought this was a recent trip that you were describing, but now I'm wondering if this trip was a while back. When were you visiting on this trip? TCD
  24. Great job on this trip report!!! I dropped a lot of $$$ on AG items in my day. The TCD DD's made it to the AG places in NYC and Chicago, and my oldest DD went on the Felicity tour in Williamsburg. Fortunately for me, the girls are now out of the AG phase. I have never heard of the Benefit sale, what is that all about? TCD
  25. Leslie- Thanks again for this awesome trip report. I enjoyed reading your final thoughts. I am surprised that everyone seems to favor FW over BLT. But, that is awesome! And, it's really awesome that your gang will be returning to the Fort next Spring! With an even bigger group! ? Girl, you crazy! (I mean that in a good way). So, I have a couple of loose ends for you to tie up: 1. Cough up the recipe for the Sausage Things. and 2. How about you give us a very short description of how "renting points" works? I guess you negotiate a price with the DVC member, and then he makes your reservatio
