Headed to the Fort - 1st time
Retired & Tired (Judy) replied to dieseldave's topic in Camping To and From the Fort
We always stay at the In and Out R V Park in Lake City every trip we make to Disney. Not really fancy but nice and easy to get to. It is close to a Wal Mart and lots of restaurants. There is a Sub Way in the same building as their office. Really cheap rates too. -

:welcome2: Welcome to this crazy group. We have been to Disney more than 30 times and all times of the year. We find the best times to visit is Thanksgiving, Christmas and January. It is cooler then (though still too warm for me). We have adopted special needs children and we take them out of school for a month's stay at the Fort in December/January every year. This year we are hoping to be there for a week at Halloween. We have also been there right after Labor Day and that was the best time for not having large crowds in the parks. It was really hot but since we did not have to bothe

Help choosing a tent!
Retired & Tired (Judy) replied to mgsmom's topic in Camper Suggestions: from tents to Class A beauties
All those tents look great and makes me almost want to tent camp rather than using the RV..... :camp1: -
My daughter has an embroidery machine and she puts our names and anything else we want whenever I need them. I love having the personal touches to our shirts.

That Big Rock in Atlanta
Retired & Tired (Judy) replied to mouseketab.....Carol's topic in Trip Reports
When walking on the top of the mountain, please do be careful. Last year a young father somehow got outside the rope area and fell to his death. It can be bad if it is wet. -

Budget tips

I use my Disney VISA for the same reasons stated above. Always nice to have "free money" (as my grandchildren call it) while we are camping at Disney. -

Finger Scan Entry System
Retired & Tired (Judy) replied to Lou...'s topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
My fingerprints are in so many files it is not funny. I had to be fingerprinted to become a foster parent. Then fingerprinted again to adopt, then fingerprinted again to adopt again, and then fingerprinted again when I changed Foster Agencies. They now have a hard time reading mine as the lines are worn off my fingers from all the hospital soaps I have used over the years. My fingerprints have not changed since I was born so why do I have to keep proving who I am? And when they do the background check that would show up any criminal activity......but if I want to take care of these preci -

Aiden looks so handsome with his new hair cut. He is adorable. -
Our school board tells the teachers to withdraw a student who is going to miss a week or more during the year. Then when we return from our vacation we just put them back on their bus and send them to school. They are re admitted. This keeps the school from having so many absences on records and losing money for all the children who are absent. Works for us.

I would love the night time safari ride. I love AK. -
We considered all our options and have found the annual pass is the way to go. We stay at least 3 -4 weeks in December/January and are back sometime during the rest of the year. A couple of years ago they offered a special if you renewed your pass...we got 15 months for the price of 12. Wish they would do that again.
-
And once you have purchased an annual pass you can renew on line for a discount in the future. You must renew within 30 days of the expiration date. We had puchased one for all of us last year and our dd passed away on June 24. When I got to the park I went to the ticket window and they exchanged her ticket for one for our little friend who was visiting with us. In fact her ticket was good for more than the year because our original ticket was for an adult (she was 14) and Ashley was only 8.
