  1. Before I bought my own scooter, I always rented from Walker Mobility. Meeting them for pickup and return was no big deal. They would call me when they were on their way. Customer service was excellent, and their price was much better than everyone else I checked. I would never rent a scooter from Disney for two reasons: one, they are way too big and clunky. Two, you can't take them out of the parks.
  2. You are just giving us something to look forward to!
  3. Maybe it's just me, but I think there's a significant difference in security in a TT or 5'er versus a Class A. When we traveled in a TT, we always stopped at a hotel on the way down and back. In our Class A, we lock ourselves in before dark at a FJ or CB. And we sufficiently "pack" to stop anyone who gets in.
  4. Welcome to the group! We pick up 95 at the 26 entrance in SC. Have stayed at Pilot/Flying J and Cracker Barrels many times. We always stay at the Flying J in St. Augustine on the way down and usually at the Cracker Barrel in Walterboro, SC, on the way home. No need to be afraid, just aware of your surroundings.
  5. We travel with our water tank empty. Carry a few gallons of water in bottles to flush the commode if necessary. But in an emergency (such as evacuation) or dry camping for a few days we'd fill our city water tank.
  6. I bet you weren't the only one in your family who came unglued! So happy Simon is okay. Have fun at the show.
  7. If it were just me I'd do it in a heartbeat. But David doesn't like crab legs, and he doesn't like to go to Cape May unless they have shrimp on the buffet. And I think that's only on Sundays. But I will try to talk him into it!
  8. You got it! I really, really dislike fish and can't imagine eating anything raw like lettuce that's come in contact with them.
  9. You all are making me confused. We'll be there next Thanksgiving for the first holiday (excluding Halloween) for 25 or so years. We celebrated Thanksgiving at the Fort many times when the kids were little. I'd cook/freeze the big items at home and cook all the sides there. But now that's just the two of us and I only have a microwave/convection, and you are talking about seafood, Cape May is sounding really good.
  10. Is any of this lettuce what they grow in the fish tank downstairs? If so, yuk. Eew. Yuk. I wouldn't eat it.
  11. Maybe so. The day we were there, they had very few customers. I thought that was odd.
  12. We tried Spice Road Table on our last trip and won't be visiting there again. I had calamari. Tasteless and half of it was rubbery. David had the lamb sausage. It was better than my calamari, but not good enough for us to go back.
  13. Happy to see that you're continuing with this report! More great pictures.
  14. This is wonderful! Joan is beautiful, and it seems she has found her forever family and her purpose in life.
  15. Our schools are closed again tomorrow. David and I went out this afternoon. Major roads are clear, but lesser roads still are icy. Tomorrow and tomorrow night are supposed to be above freezing, so hopefully some if this ice will begin to melt.
  16. Does your mom know the southernmost point thingy isn't actually at the southernmost point? The marker was moved several years ago. That being said, I've been to Key West for a couple of day stops while cruising and really enjoyed the architecture there. Walking up/down Duval Street is fun. We always take a bicycle taxi to the "southernmost point" and then walk back toward the pier. The Sloppy Joes and margaritas at Sloppy Joe's Bar are great. IMHO the Hemingway house is a waste of time and money. The Truman annex is okay, particularly if you're into history. (I'm not.) My init
  17. We're having a heat wave! After a low of 7, it's back up to 22! Roads are still pretty covered. Schools have already been cancelled for tomorrow. David is going to try and get out of our development this afternoon. It's uphill for us, too.
  18. Yes, that's some serious snow for us. And it's gonna be around awhile. Hope you don't get too much!
  19. David and I are going out in a little while to measure our snow and take pictures. I'm guessing we have 8-10 inches, and it's still coming down. Thankfully we have no power outages in our city. Part of I-40 is closed because of an overturned 18-wheeler. Reportedly lots of other accidents around town. Grocery stores don't even have frozen pizza!
  20. Depending on which source I check, we're predicted to get 6 to 10 inches of snow. And single digit temps Saturday and Sunday nights. Then 63 degrees a week from today. I wish mother nature would make up her mind.
  21. Sorry you had to put up with that rude person on FB!
  22. Wow. That parade used to be so great. Now it's Frozen overload. What happened to all the gingerbread men?
