  1. Well I called WDW twice and both times they said I caould associate the Exchange Certificates on line using the number on the cert. And the annual pass time line would not start until we actual go into a park. I went on line to do it and got a message that the number was already on an account. I looked at my account and there were 2 annual passes already there in the tickets and passes section. And the best part was they said that they didn't expire until 12/31/2030. It's almost better than winning the lottery, maybe not. Time to go play power ball. On the Exchange they say they can be
  2. Thanks for the info. I always appreciate someone watching out for our best interest.
  3. Does anyone know if there is a way I can associate the Annual Pass Exchange Certificates with out Fort reservation? I sure would like to make some fast passes 60 days out if possible
  4. Well I think I know where I may be heading this weekend. We are over near Flower Mound, so not too far. Thanks.
  5. I would like to try making one but I have never been able to find the globes. I have heard Home Depot but I can't find them here in TX and even when we have been at the fort we travelled around to wherever we can find a HD or Lowes and still no luck. We will be back in March and any help on where we could try would be appreciated.
  6. Buzz Lightyear Pirates Jungle Cruise Mickey's Philharmagic Small World Sleepy Hollow stuffed waffles Haunted mansion Peter Pan People Mover The boat back to the fort
  7. We have always left out our chairs, coolers, grill, etc. Normal camping stuff. As far as our awning, depends on the day or even time of year. We are usually able to keep the awning at a good angle for draining rain, so I don't worry about an average rain but if thunderstorms are predicted I may roll it up. I guess it depends how lucky I feel. I have gone full weeks at the fort and never opened the awning.
  8. We usually stop at the Okahumpka Service Plaza, which is the first rest area on the Florida Turnpike once you get off 75. It is about an hour from the Fort. So an easy drive the next morning. It is located in the area between the East and West bound so plan accordingly, it is a left exit.
  9. Agreed, but I find that turn a lot less stressful than keeping my mirrors off of the toll booths at the main gate. Never clipped one (yet) but boy were my mirrors close and I saw many scrap marks right about the same level. Plus, I usually stop at the Hess station by the Boardwalk to top off my tank before I go to the Fort. One less thing to worry about when I leave. And maybe it's just me but I think the gas prices there are pretty competitive to to the off property gas stations in the area.
  10. I agree coming in on 429 to Western Way is the best way to go. But I hate going through the main gate with the MH. I was a tighter squeeze than I enjoyed. I usually stay on Buena Vista Drive and just past Epcot Center Drive, I take a left on Bonnet Creek Dr. There is the Disney Vacation Club lighthouse (?) looking thing on the corner. Stay on Bonnet Creek Dr. until you reach Vista Blvd. I think it is the second traffic light. Take a left onto Vista Blvd and about a mile or so up on the right is the Fort.
  11. I agree with the surge protector. Not a real flashy gift but one that keeps on giving......peace of mind that is.
  12. So do you think that will mean less buses to the campground?
  13. My sister was a school nurse in Bpt last year, Madison school. She and her husband (retired Bpt. cop) have now moved down to Dallas are where we are now. Good luck finding a perminent site/ storage place.
  14. My In-Laws used to winter at Great Oak RV Resort. It was nice but nothing fancy. A lot of retirees especially during the season. And it looks like they had a storage area. They were many 15-20 minutes to Disney. Where in CT? I grew up in Bridgeport and lived in Huntington before we left in 1995/96 for warmer weather. http://www.greatoakrvresort.com/about.html
  15. I was able to book for the beginning of December 2015. The week after Thanksgiving.
  16. Moving it to the courtyard outside the gate is the best idea I have seen. They could still even keep the pin shop in it.
  17. I have never been a fan of the hat, but I remember before it was there. There seem to be many people with strong feeling both ways. So to me the question is how many of the hat haters remember what it was like before the hat and how many of the hat lovers have never seen HS without the hat. Nobody likes change.
  18. The advice above about checking/replacing the tires and repacking the bearings is the best advice I could give. That was the biggest issue we had with our pop-up. The advice I was always given pulling a trailer is when it starts to fish tail is to speed up. Scarey as it sounds, the trailer gets squirrely because the trailer is traveling faster than the tow vechile. There has been many butt puckering moments when you speed up going downhill when you think this can't be right . But it works.
  19. Many of the cellular providers are adding more towers and in many cases lowering their existing ones. This is to create smaller footprints for each cell tower. With the cell phones/ tablets becoming more data intensive the smaller footprint for each site helps to keep the site from being overwhelmed with data requests. Hopefully the additional sites cover the areas where the existing have been lowered. Once your wireless signal hits a cell tower, the signal gets combined with the other folks signal hitting the same tower. Then they usually leave the cell site over a copper or fiber opt
  20. Over the years we have had some really great check in experiences and some more interesting experiences. From the good being able to check in at 7:00 AM to more interesting when we stayed in cabins one time. Where we kept seeing people checking in for cabins and everytime we went up we kept getting told ours wasn't ready. We have also checked in a full day early when the campground we had a reservation for didn't have a site for us. My wife tried to call to see if we could extend our reservation coming in a day early. While she was on hold waiting to talk to someone we drove the 15 minutes
