I guess Irma is a fan of Toad.   Hmmmm.....  noisy, reckless, dangerous,  brash.    I can see that.

The way Disney is approaching this Projection technology reminds me of when microwave ovens first became mainstream back in the late 70's.  My parents went and plunked down what was probably a lot of money for this huge thing that sat on the counter.  It was marvelous and groundbreaking technology.  And because it was so cool, they wanted to try cooking everything in it.  Eggs, steak, pizza, pie, ham, potatoes, oats....you name it.  While some of it was edible, the majority of it sucked monkey butt.  They quickly learned that, while the microwave is a neat thing to have, it's best used judiciously, in ways that complement the overall cooking experience.  Perhaps cook some veggies in it while grilling your steak and baking your potato.  But by all means don't cook the entire meal in it.
Whoever was in charge of creating this show just got himself a brand new microwave and went overboard with it.

DramaMama .......... Janet reacted to DaveInTN in A TCD Easter at The Fort Trip Report
    Couple of comments.
First, regarding the quote above....cherish the times you still have where you'll all be under the same roof.  Once they start marrying, those days are done.  Same with vacation.  It's not a bad thing necessarily.  I love how our lives are changing.  But it does make me sad when I think that we'll never go to the Fort again as a family of 7.  Our trip last month was without our Gwen.  And although we hope to do a trip someday where she and her husband will join us, it will surely be different.  Still good, just different.
My other comment in regarding religious services at WDW.  I remember in the past they offered a service at the CR on major holidays like Easter.  I would love it if they offered an Easter morning and Christmas service at the campfire theater.  We camp at some state and federal campgrounds to offer an outdoor non-denominational service every Sunday.  Would be cool if Disney offered something at the Fort.  I bet it would draw many folks who don't want to travel over to the Contemporary for an indoor service.  And it could be very casual....come as you are.

Once you earn a couple of emojis you can click on settings on your phone, then general, then keyboard, keyboards, add new keyboard, select Disney Emoji Blitz, and Allow full access (still not sure how I feel about that one).  It guides you through using them.  They don't appear beside your other emojis; you have to click that icon that looks similar to the old Epcot logo.  If you don't get it the first time click ABC and then click the world thingy again and they should appear.  In texts you choose the emojis you want to use and then paste it in.

DramaMama .......... Janet got a reaction from mouseketab.....Carol in More Smoking Locations Being Eliminated
We don't smoke, nor do currently any of our immediate family members. Some family members can't be around cigarette smoke for health reasons.  Being around it makes my head hurt and my throat feel like it is closing in.  That being said, I understand that it is some peoples' choice and those that do want to quit can have a very hard time doing so.  Banning it from restaurants and stores is fine with me - close quarters and hard to get away from.  In those instances, smoking patrons will not be there that long and can step outside to smoke it they choose.  At Disney, however, that is a full day's commitment for most people.  There needs to be several areas for smokers to use, but I would like to see them located in areas off by themselves - NOT pathways.  That way the smoke/smell does not bother others. They have some privacy as well.

DramaMama .......... Janet got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in New Night Kilimanjaro Safari - Animal Kingdom
We got to ride the night safari a few days ago. I really liked it. It seemed longer (or maybe it was because they did drive a LOT slower) and it seemed like we went on a different path a few times. Might not have been - it is so easy to get turned around in the dark. There were a few theatrical parts but, for the most part, it was a lot more genuine ride/look at the animals. We did get very good looks at some animals though I don't think they have nearly as many out as in the daytime.  It is definitely worth your time. By the way, the only Fastpasses we could get were for 9:45.  I hear that if you can ride it nearer dusk you will likely see more animals either because of the light or those that haven't gone in for the night.

Welcome!  We tent camped for a few years and just got a pop up.  We still take the tent for a closet/dressing room.  You are on the right track with partial - and yes - beg for 1500.  Best loop ever!!!  Do lock up valuables, secure food (Fort squirrels are very good at chewing through plastic - especially for cake and cinnamon rolls), and bring a fan to keep the air circulating at night.

    Travisma:

PS... we started back camping with a tent about 2 years ago.  We moved up to a POP UP and a tent.  We now look like the Beverly Hillbillies when we arrive.

Took this Sunday night.  Not sure exactly the location, but while standing in the same spot I turned left a little and took this of my guys.

So, unless there are two cats, they are moving it around.  I was having trouble finding it.  Thrill found it for us.

Well, one $50 set would get you parking ($15 ahead of time, $18 day of) and you know you are going to end up feeding your kids and buying them something(s) anyway.  AND I must say that the Granny Apple Fries are freaking good...

Chime in and tell us all about festivals your family attends whether in your town or not.  I know there are some beloved and sometimes strange ones out there!  I have a few to share and would love to learn about more.
    Coming up:
    The Clanton, Alabama Peach Jam
    and
(my hometown) the Corinth, Mississippi Slugburger Festival (and no, there are no snails/slugs in the burger!  Stay tuned to learn more.)

I camped at a few places in Mississippi growing up - nothing special - more about being with friends.  I had a nasty bike wreck at Tippah Lake in my preteens.   Don't have an urge to go back there.  Thrill and I have camped at a KOA in north GA.  Wouldn't recommend it - only there because of him doing the Chickamauga marathon.

DramaMama .......... Janet got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in Strange Things
Great report; enjoyed following along.  I learned several things and felt good about already being familiar with Peppa Pig (our boys have outgrown it - pity - it was a great way to work on my Euro-trash dialect) and Black Adder.  You really should catch some Black Adder episodes - Andy recommends season 2 - the set would be called Black Adder II.  It takes place in the Elizabethan era.  As the show progresses through the seasons Baldrick gets smarter and Black Adder gets, well, dumber.  My favorite line - "Baldrick, to you the Renaissance was just something that happened to other people."

The only line in the song that is actually irony.

Baldrick, have you no idea what "irony" is?

Yes, it's like "goldy" and "bronzy" only it's made out of iron.

DramaMama .......... Janet got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in Art of Animation Teach to Draw Classes
I know they used to have easels set up at the front doors for kids to practice and did classes out there.  It looks like this is a great use of space.  I definitely suggest going over and checking AoA out.  We did that one afternoon on a non-park trip.  You can go right into the middle of the resort's outdoor space and see the Little Mermaid pool, the Nemo water play area, the Lion King elephant graveyard/play area (that is where they show the movies at night on the inflatable screen) and, most importantly if you have little boys or love the Cars movies, the Cars area!  Here the sidewalks look like roads and you can pose by (no climbing please) 3/4 size replicas of the cars from the first movie.  There is also the Cozy Cone pool area.  The food  court has really good food and the theming is calming - though the noise level can get high during peak meal times.  We raved about our visit so much that our in-laws booked all of us there on the next trip we took to Disney.  We loved it!   Fort will always be home, but the Cars' suites were such a treat for our boys.

DramaMama .......... Janet reacted to BradyBzLyn...Mo in Why I Love Fort Fiends
So for the momentous, and more than a little ridiculous, occasion of my 25,000th post (yeesh!) I figured what better than to pay homage to the place and the people responsible for all my blathering on.  Feel free to join in!

    I love Fort Fiends because...

When I'm having a lousy day, I can always count on a laugh (or 7)
I get to share my love (ok obsession) with the Fort and Disney parks with people who don't just roll their eyes and make looping motions with their finger alongside their head or ask me "are you going AGAIN?"
If I have a question, I know someone will have the answer - and then someone will hijack the thread (see point #1)
There is always a Fiend on the Scene to find out the latest information on what's happening at WDW and the Fort - often complete with photos - and those people aren't shy about texting me that info live as it happens!
Super fun times ensue when things like a private party at the Fort happens and we get to share minute-by-minute reporting on said event - complete with hilarious commentary
      Two words... GRAND GATHERINGS
If I want to plan a crazy park "mission," I always know where I can find someone to accompany me, and a bunch of people to cheer me on
I'm continually amazed by the kindness and compassion of fellow Fiends - from taking up and delivering a pin collection for a little girl no one even knows, to hand delivering a special popcorn bucket to an adorable Fiend 1000 miles away, to dropping everything to come to the rescue of a Fiend that finds themselves in a medical or mechanical bind while at the Fort, to supporting a fellow Fiend that's going through a difficult time... the list goes on. There are so many more reasons, but I'll try and keep this to less than my usual "epic" length and cut to the chase. The number one reason...

I've made some wonderful, amazing FrIENDS with people that I never would have met otherwise - interesting, caring, fun, smart, loving, hilarious, fantastic people.

As my 5 year old nephew would say (in suitably dramatic fashion)... my heart is full.
