The adventure did resume today, at Epcot.
As usual the actual driving part of the job was fine, but the Disney baloney that goes along with it was ridiculous.
It's like the idiot managers stay awake nights thinking, how can we make things more difficult for CMs and in particular, bus drivers.
The stupid things that have been written about here over the years regarding some of the things Disney does is not limited to those. It goes on behind the scenes big time.

No.  Because if it came from the MSB, I would have caught it before it hit the water.

Because there are very few day shifts, 8 hours or less, posted on the exchange. As for the hub, I really don't care which one it is.
Every once in awhile there is a shift on there, you put in for it and then it can take up to 2 days to get it approved, if it gets approved.
You have to be very patient, and spend a lot of time on the computer in order to pick up 3 or 4 days every week. I know some guys do it that way, but for me, it's much easier just putting myself in the bullpen (on call) to get what I want. 
 
I put my scheduled shifts on the exchange and once they're gone, one visit to the hub to place myself in the bullpen, zap, done for the week.
I can pick the exact days and time window I want. 
 
I've been doing it that way for years, it works for me. It also helps that I have seniority over a good chunk of the drivers that put themselves in the bullpen, because that's what the call order is based on.

If I ever go to a strip club, and get caught, I could explain that I was conducting research for the pole.

Today was research and locate the parts day.
The pole is crucial to the overall look, so I wanted the pole to be high quality. I'm using all polished brass parts to make it and the base.
I found a company online that sells all sorts of polished brass parts. I ordered a brass ball for the top of the pole and a 1/4"diameter brass rod for the pole.
For the base, I'm using a generic brass candlestick holder which can be found at most home decor stores.
I'll drill the ball to accept the pole and cement it in place. And I'll do the same with the base.
That's it for the pole. A professional looking and quality carousel horse pole for about $35.
So far I've spent about $85, and that should do it. The rest is labor.
 
 

 
 

True story.....Jack skipped the safety drill.  Had he gone, he would have known that there was plenty of room for him on that board next to Rose. 

I'm probably a HUGE form of entertainment for most folks when it comes to setting up :)
 
Believe it or not though on occasion, I have done as little as put down the stabilizers and hook up electric :)

They may be easier to catch in the morning, but Nicki does have a valid point. They may eat you before you catch them.

I left those parts out in order to keep it simple.

Lou, you're getting your rumors mixed up again.  SpectroMagic is going to tour the country as "Spectro On Ice".  The EWP is being retired and will be replaced by Illuminations.  The giant globe barge is being permanently installed on Discovery Island and the show will be held on Bay Lake every evening.  Meanwhile, Epcot will be rolling out a new nighttime, swash-buckling spectacular on the lagoon.....Pirate Damn Judi Dench and the Buccaneer Monks.  This hybrid pirate show, history lesson will tell the story of human history from the perspective of a drunk Caribbean seafarer. and his partner, a Medieval Monk.  Brought to you by Captain Morgan.

Well, I did it.  I made my first-ever ADR from home.  The furthest out I've ever made an ADR is 2-3 days!
 
We're having dinner at Whispering Canyon.  If any of you have ideas about how we can make this meal more fun for the kids, I've love to hear them!  And BTW, we're a loud, boisterous crew.  There's not a shy kid in the bunch.
