  1. "The prettiest sight in this fine pretty world is the privileged class enjoying its privileges." - McCauley Connor - The Philadelphia Story
  2. Ah, Lou, that was beautifully written. As I said previously, I will miss the hope of ever seeing you as I board one of those big ol' people haulers. Although I never was lucky enough to be chauffeured by you, I would like to thank you for safely getting your passengers to their destinations, your conscientiousness as a driver, and the part you played in "making the magic" come alive at Disney. I know you are eagerly awaiting your new position, as there is always such excitement with a new job on the horizon, and I know you will be wonderful; but sometimes endings are just a little bit sad.
  3. And if you could fix air conditioners, too, then you'd be pretty darn perfect!
  4. You got me there! I go way back with the Astros to the days of Jose Cruz, Joe Neikro, Mike Scott and Dickie Thon. I was so hoping this would be a good year, but it's not. So I turn to FF to entertain me on a Saturday night. I need to get a life!
  5. I left about an hour ago to watch the Astros lose, and when I returned there were three pages added to this thread! This is SO much more interesting than the Astros game!
  6. I'm happy that you got to see the Little White House and the museum inside. We saw it on our visit there, but we didn't have time to go inside. I think I would have really liked it. Have fun at the Fort!
  7. We went to Atlantis on an excursion tour with RCCL. The visit reminded me of Stella's bungee experience - cool for the first few minutes, but then it was rather boring. IMHO, you didn't miss much. I've always wanted to get my hair braided. Those braids looked so very cute on your daughter! And I'm so glad you didn't get your pocket picked in Nassau - that would not have been magical. Loving these cruise pix!
  8. And I don't blame you, Kelly; I would do this, too - if I had kids and if I were going to be there before Sept. 1. Go for it!
  9. "On the Enhancement we boarded into a hallway. No kidding. We literally entered the ship through a door and into an elevator lobby. Oh well, so first impressions weren't good. But we were still onboard and we were ON VACATION! " My goodness, that's different. I've cruised with RCCL five times - once leaving from Port Canaveral - and we've always boarded through the atrium area. But then again, we haven't cruised in about 8 years. I'm with you; I'm not crazy about beaches either. I much prefer a sand-free deck attached to a sparkling clean swimming pool. Your girls are darling - an
  10. Those lamps are just precious! Well done!
  11. I love staying in the 700 loop. We have been assigned 721, 726, and 701. There is a water retention pond behind 726 and 721, which could be a little unfortunate if it rains too much. But both of those sites are quite private; we liked both of them. However, our favorite spot is 701. It is neither private, quiet, nor close to the Settlement, but we really like watching the people hustle down to the Settlement or slowly walk back to their site after a day of fun. It probably wouldn't be a good site for you with 9 children, as the main road is on one side of the site. But it works for us.
  12. Lou, if you go, please give me your critique. Ray, I am so loving your live trip comments! Keep those reports coming. I'm so glad you are having so much fun!
  13. Well, that is just lousy! I was looking forward to a full report. Are you going to try to go sometime later in the week?
  14. So. . . how was the concert? Good songs? Good sound? Was it crowded? Anything unconventional about the concert?
  15. I've stayed at that RV park in Perrin! That little place has to be one of the hottest, driest places on earth!
  16. She will! I'm still telling stories of my first trip when I was a senior in college.
  17. This is our Abby, sitting on the dash of our MH at Avalon Rv Park in Milton, FL. She is 14 1/2 years old and still loving life!
  18. We also travel to WDW from Houston, and we have stayed just north of Lake City at White Springs at Kelly's RV Park - about 7 miles north of I-10. It's not wonderful, but it's not really bad either. It's $25 a night - no cable TV but free Wifi. It's two hours from the Fort. We also like to stay at Avalon Landing RV park in Milton, FL - "just 5 miles to Pensacola." It's a little pricey, though, at $40 a night. I think there are some state parks around White Springs and Lake City, but I haven't stayed at those. Have you thought about spending the night at one of the many rest areas
  19. All righty - I know that lake. Well, I don't KNOW it; I've heard of it. Good lake! That's a pretty long way to Tahlequah from Crescent. Do you get up there often?
  20. The others are going to have to drive pretty fast to beat me to that houseboat on a lake in Oklahoma!!! I don't have any "cuties," but I can bring lots of booze! May I be included??? BTW, which lake? If you say Murray or Texoma, I'm going to lie down and die right here!
