  1. How is Shula's compared to Yachtsman? Kenny wanted a change this time, but Yachtsman is my favorite.
  2. Your talent and skills are absolutely amazing! Even with your sight issues, you can still make the details pop right off the canvas. What an accomplishment!
  3. I saw someone's video of the "soft opening" of the show. It was boring. This red neck is saying, "No, thanks."
  4. Beautiful pictures; I'm envious of your trip. 2) Texas has more crosses, American flags and pro-gun signs/stickers than any other state (and were very friendly). You pretty much nailed Texas right there in that one sentence. We love God, our country, hunting, and saying "howdy" to strangers.
  5. I'm sorry, Ray; I didn't see this question. Yes, I do know what happened - thanks to an article in the New York Times. TWA (the airline he hijacked) flew him to Kennedy instead of Viet Nam. Officials quickly came on board, but he slid down the inflated escape thingy. He was arrested and taken to a mental hospital in New York. When I returned home from our European tour, the local FBI agent (whose son I had dated) came to my house, asked me a lot of questions, and wanted to send me back to Chicago to testify in his trial. I vehemently declined, and to this day, I have never been back to C
  6. We arrive on Nov. 2, also. Looks like we might be there the entire time you are! Welcome to Fort Fiends!
  7. That is the most wonderful list! Thank you so much for finding that for me, Lou.
  8. Do any of the resort lounges serve American beer, such as Miller Lite or Bud?
  9. Ray, on my first trip to London we left from OKC and flew to Chicago, also. I had just finished my first year of teaching and had never flown before. My girlfriend and I were so excited to be flying AND going to Europe all in the same trip! But as we boarded our flight to London in Chicago, a man hijacked the plane. He wanted to go to North Viet Nam and do various things to those people. Luckily, the negotiators got him to allow the passengers to deboard - but not before the hijacker killed one of the passengers - shot him in cold blood. We didn't see it, but we heard the shot. I
  10. We bought our two years ago. At that time they sold three sizes, but I can't remember the numbers.
  11. Those Typhoon Lagoon pictures are really good! I never knew that place had so much to offer. Keep those pictures coming, Ray; I'm dying to see your shots of Europe!
  12. Losing a beloved pet leaves such a deep sense of emptiness and grief. Please know that my thoughts of sincerest sympathy are with you.
  13. Thursday, Oct. 2, is the last day it shows up on my FP+ selections.
  14. You've probably read this before, but we use the Exit Now book (Barnes and Noble $32). We have the 2011 edition and it's still reliable. The facilities for big rigs are printed in red, so as we are going down the road, I look for the exits where we can get in and out easily. It's also lists everything at each exit and indicates which side of the road they are on. I searched the Apple App store and couldn't find anything.
  15. We had DirecTV in our motorhome for about a year. It worked well, but it takes a while to set up each time. We even used it at the Fort with all of those trees and it worked. Customer service is great with DirecTV. At our house, though, we have cable TV and internet. I won't bundle because when Hurricane Ike was headed toward a Houston strike at midnight, our TV and internet went out at 9 pm. But our AT&T land line worked throughout the entire storm. No electricity, cell phone or internet for 8 days, but that land line worked like a charm. My friends with cable phone lost their se
  16. That's the truth! It takes us and hour and a half to get to the outskirts of Houston.
  17. Oh, shoot! I really liked the fife and drum corps - a really neat piece of Americana. But, then again, I love the Main Street Philharmonic and the Dapper Dans in MK.
  18. And I'll bet that is just what Disney did! Sorry for hijacking this thread for so long, but I really enjoyed the conversation!
  19. That sounds like awfully good news to me! BTW, how to you watch a dog for high blood pressure?
  20. Hmmm. . . a little conflict of interest at play here? But, in truth, it would be a little hard to get board members who aren't affiliated with Disney since all members must be residents of the district - or at least land owners. Oh, wait. I see what you are saying. Yes, I agree there's probably some under-the-table business going on; but, like you said, it's Disney's fault for setting up the district that way in the first place - and the state's for approving it.
  21. I realize I'm sounding like Dolly Do Gooder, and I don't mean to preach - and I'm really not all that good - but in an elected office, one must follow the law. Luckily, our board doesn't have to make PC decisions. Basically, it comes down to can we provide available water for this endeavor or not, are Monday and Thursday good trash days, what water and sewer lines do we need to replace, and do we really need that brand new ambulance - not really earth-shattering decisions.
