Here are some pictures from our trip this weekend.  The CG itself is nice.  Sites have cement and are level.  There is no shade, but it's right in the middle of Pensacola Beach so they basically took a parking lot and added some landscaping.  I think they did a good job, for the location.   The property does not allow tents or pop-ups; when we got there, the place wasn't full but it filled up over the weekend and I would say 75% of the park was large Class As and some big 5th Wheels.   Several of the sites had utility connections on both sides so you could either pull straight in or back in.  We were in a waterfront site which faces the bay.  The ocean was a short walk across the street.  The traffic was good about stopping, so it's very easy to get to.  The CG had a small pool and 2 single bathhouses (each bathhouse had a private toilet, shower and sink).  There was a small store onsite and the staff was okay.   Cable provided a lot of channels but the wifi signal was pretty weak.  Our Verizon signal was strong.

CG entrance, you can see the small sign by the yellow walk sign (that walk sign is where you cross to get to the ocean):

Our spot, next to my favorite... an Airstream (the owner was very nice and let me tour their home on wheels :) ):

I know... it is the parent's fault however, how often have we talked about Disney looking the other way when they see foolish people on golf carts?  I think most people who come to the Fort, do so at least once a year; so there are lots of "repeat offenders".  With that, I wonder what would happen if Disney really buckled down and started to enforce the rules; if they saw someone poorly driving a rented cart, they should take it away.  Right then and there.  If they see someone poorly driving a private owned cart, same thing.  They should tell the guest that they can either have their golf cart stored by Disney (for a fee of course) for the duration of their stay or they can check out of the campground without a refund.  I wonder if Disney enforced rules, how quickly we might see an change?  Also, curious... when a person brings their own personal GC, do they register it with the front desk?  If you report an issue with a driver on a cart, can Disney track down the owner?  If I were Disney (or, that's a lovely game :) ), I would pass out a bright neon peace of paper with the GC rules (and consequences) clearly written; each guest would have to sign one with they checked in... every person in the party (16 and older) would need to sign it.  Then, I would do the hard work of enforces the rules.  My guess is Disney would get some pushback and angry people for the first year, but then it would mellow out and improve.   Of course, I also wouldn't allow 5 families to share one campsite... but that's a whole other thread on its own

Yay for the mouse!  Happy to hear that you were safe and that all ended well!!   Sometimes no parks and just hanging out... really is the best plan!   Throw in some good food and hey... not too shabby   :)

Ahhh... don't look back.  Seams like prices drop every few days on what you bought (nature of the beast), so there's a chance you'll just find yourself frustrated.  Not worth it!  Instead...go camping and enjoy!! :)

We've also seen lines like that, when folks were dressed up and trying to get to the MK for the halloween party.

Lazy Fort days are the best!   Although, so much to do that it's easy to not be lazy :)    I agree with Jason's suggestion on the walk and your suggestion for the pool...there are also the playgrounds, the beach, the stables, driving/walking the loops, bike riding (you can rent bikes if you didn't bring one), canoe ride in the moat, fishing, don't forget the Chip-n-Dale Bonfire tonight.  Like I said, very easy to turn a "lazy" day into a busy one, haha :)

    Enjoy!!

We haven't camped that much, outside of the Fort... but I will say that locally we like Stone Mountain (nice activities/amenities for kids) and Bald Ridge at Lake Lanier is pretty darn awesome :)

Okay Fiends... we're home, as is our new camper!  We'll, right now the camper is parked in front of our house (this one is too big to get up our steep driveway so we need to find a lot to park it at).  I'll post some pictures soon :)

As for the PDI yesterday, it went pretty well. No major red flags and we took our time (we spent about 2.5 almost 3 hours walking the unit). Still NOT thrilled with CW and I would NOT recommend that anyone purchase from them, but as for our day... it went better than I had expected it to go.  Huge, HUGE, thanks to Doug (ependydad...Doug) for all your help.  Fiends are the BEST!!

Our kiddos did really well; we were sooo thankful that! :)   5 hours at an RV dealership is long enough for anyone... but for an 8 and 3 year old, they were troopers!

Today I'm going to put all the "camper" stuff inside and make her feel more like home :)   I'll take/post pictures when I'm done!

twiceblessed....nacole got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in Casper Mattress...
We recently purchased a new mattress, by a company called Casper.  Tom has had 3 back surgeries and our old bed was really hurting him.  Ideally we wanted to purchase a sleep number, but the bed that seemed to work best for us cost upwards of $4000.  Not cheap.  So... he started doing some research and came across Casper.  What made it an easy decision was two things:   First, price ($900 vs $4000) for a king.  Second, return policy.  FULL refund (so if you paid a total of $900, they will refund you the full $900).  They don't charge a restocking fee or a shipping fee and they'll even pick the mattress up from you.  This was a big deal for us as Casper is online only; you can't try out the bed before so their 100 day, 100% refund, guarantee was important to us.

The results?  Praise God, it has helped his back!  Now, he's still in pain (everyday, no question)... but it use to be that he could not move (without intense pain) for a good 20-30 minutes after he woke up in the morning.  He would literally just lay there and (very) slowly start to move/stretch before he could actually get up.  With the new mattress, his mornings are 80% better!  We are so thankful!

The mattress itself sits on our old box spring, but the company says you don't have to use a box spring if you'd rather have something very low to the ground.  For me, I found the mattress a bit firm and the company is sending out a topper at NO additional cost to try and help with that.  Their customer service is AMAZING.   Now, while I do find the mattress to be firm when you first lay down, I can say that I sleep just fine and I too wake up feeling better.  It's crazy.

Okay... seriously, I don't work for them :)  The link below will give you $50 off a mattress and it gives Tom and I $50 as well but honestly... even if they didn't pay us, I would still recommend the mattress.  The bed is working for us and I cannot say enough good things about the company's customer service.    Anyway... if you need a mattress, you might want to consider it.   Link is below.  Please feel free to share it :)
