Tri-Circle-D 2,059
I understand why you would say that, I said the same thing when it was first released. But, when it comes to renting movies, you tend to be more forgiving, so when we rented it, it wasn't as bad as the title implies. I found it entertaining and worth watching as a rental. Ha! Ha! You almost got me there. Nice try. TCD

Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Although I'm sure this witty banter could go on for days, we need to dust this old report off and have an update. So, here we go. We left off as the Rebel costume freaks group began to march by. At least these guys are smart enough not to wear their helmets on a 90 degree day: For some reason, this guy got to march by himself. I have no idea who he is supposed to be: These good guys have a thing for capes: Call me stupid, but I fail to see the purpose of a cape in space. I think these guys were on their way to a Renaissance Festival and got lost: Peter Pan? Robin Hood? IDK: I wish Big Wendy was here to see this: More robes and capes: Sorry, rebels, but the bad guys have way cooler costumes. I think this was the last of the civilians in the fake costumes. These are supposed to be ewoks: There was nothing to tell us that the out of shape middle aged loser white guy Rebel club had ended and the Disney costumes had begun, but I could tell that these ewoks had much nicer costumes than the ones who had just passed: The real Chewbacca came on down the street. Unfortunately, I mostly got a photo of the dude in the red shirt. Again: I know this green guy is somebody important, but I don't know his name: In case you keep track of such things, this is the first African American who has appeared in the parade. Note that he is being paid by Disney to be here. For some reason, there is not very much diversity in the 501st or the Rebel Out of Shape Loser Middle Age White Guys club: These are clone troopers, I believe. They had a little dance routine, just like they do in the movie (or maybe not) : I don't know who this is, but she is a girl. Girls have been in short supply so far in this parade. Seeing her gave me hope that perhaps Leia in her slave costume might be on the way. Next came R2D2. Naturally, I looked for an inconspicuous "tourist" walking down the street in his vicinity. But, I didn't see one: I didn't catch whoever it was that was controlling that droid. Maybe if that guy in the red shirt would have stood still for a second, I would have had a better chance of seeing out in the road. Hey, but he almost gave Chewbacca a high five. I'll bet his kids might have been proud of him had he not failed at that. Maybe if he shaved that stubble off his head and got a neck tattoo he would get some respect. Anyway, now came the good part. Genuine celebrities in shiny new cars! Oh boy- look! It's Peter Mayhew!!!! We haven't seen him yet: Wow! That is one strange looking man. Do you see the size of his hands? And look how he dressed to make a public appearance. In case anyone reading along doesn't know, Peter Mayhew is the actor who wore the Chewbacca costume in the four Star Wars movie where that character appears. He did not provide Chewbacca's voice. He just wore the costume. As Princess Leia said- he was just a walking carpet. As far as I know, Peter Mayhew has done nothing in the acting department since he became a "star" in Star Wars. And, I believe he only got the part because he was 7' 3". This guy did better than winning the lottery. He doesn't look very athletic. So what is a 7' 3" guy supposed to do? Somehow he lucked in to being a Wookie, And he has ridden that Gravy Train for the last 45 years. I was amused last week to see a very small article in my local paper about old Pete having a run in with airport security over a giant light saber that he uses as a cane. I am not making this up. In the remote chance that anyone cares to hear more about this, here's an on-line version of that story: http://www.eonline.com/news/428056/chewbacca-actor-peter-mayhew-duels-with-airport-security-over-lightsaber-cane-and-wins And here's the photo that accompanied that story: I guess those jorts and that hat go everywhere with him? Here's a bit from the article in case the link doesn't work or it disappears: For Peter Mayhew, it was an "Imperial entanglement" of the TSA sort. The British actor famed for playing Chewbacca in the Star Wars films was flying from Denver last week back to his home planet of Kashyyk in Texas when he ended up having a run-in with airport security who—acting like storm troopers, apparently —tried to confiscate his lightsaber-appearing cane. "@AmericanAir won't lalow me through the airport with me cane! Can I get a retweet?" he vented Monday morning via his official Twitter page, Thankfully, the Twitter force was strong with this one.Shortly after he sent the tweet, the 69-year-old Mayhew quickly clarified, "@tsa rather…Though after I tweeted they gave it back :)" The 7-foot-3-inch thespian, who was in town for Denver's Comic Con, went about his merry way after airport security took Han Solo's advice and "let the wookiee win," as one of his followers quipped later. "Giant man need giant cane.. small cane snap like toothpick.... besides.. my light saber cane is just cool.. I would miss it," he said. I guess this is the sort of thing that passes for journalism these days. I'll tell you one place we aren't going to see Pete's photo. On the cover of GQ magazine. That dude is crazy. If I were him, I wouldn't be walking around in jorts and a t-shirt. He has the right idea with the light saber cane. But he should have a cape made our of Wookie fur, and a better wardrobe. And I wouldn't be poking fun at the TSA on Twitter. Just sayin'. I think this is a good place to end this update. Billy Dee is coming up next, and he deserves an update to himself. You know he isn't walking around in jorts swinging a light saber cane. TCD
