Last year we planned to spend a few days at the beach before checking into the Fort. We stayed at a place called Coral Sands RV resort in Ormond beach. As we came into Lake City headed to Jacksonville, Maps rerouted us onto a shorter route. I was not the navigator at this point and my husband and hadn't noticed the change. Anyway, at some point Maps told us to exit off the main highway we were on and make a sharp left. The exit didn't look major and I began to get nervous. The sharp left turned us onto a very beautiful tree lined road. We saw a sign, about 100 feet in from the turn that said. WARNING low hanging branches, narrow roads and possible flooding, with another sign saying road open. We also noticed a road blocker pushed to the side that said road closed. I quickly checked my mirrors and had 5 cars behind me and there was no way to turn the motorhome around. I began to panic, we had no choice but to proceed. For the next 12 miles we would be on what should have been a one lane road with Florida swamp land on either side, zero shoulder.  I crept along at a snails pace carefully watching each low hanging branch and hugging the edge of the road to allow on coming cars to pass. I kept hoping for a turn off but there were none. The road at parts was a bit flooded over and many turns were blind turns. Not a child in the RV made as much as a squeak. For 12 miles we journeyed down this road. Finally we came out to what I believe was A1A. All the tension drained from my body and quiet tears rolled down my cheeks. From that point on Google became "stupid google", like stupid Judy.

We were on a freeway going through Kansas City when Google Maps said to exit, so we did.  Went through one or two stop lights and then Google Maps 
had us get back on the freeway it had told us to exit less than a mile back.  "Stupid Google"!

It it my understanding that Disney is going to replace this with a game you download on your phone. Your phone will then interact with elements around the queue. The app is not ready yet.  
It always grosses me out seeing how many people, especially little kids, are touching all over the gems. 

How cute would it be to have a Wilderness Explores Club at the Fort. Kids could go on scavenger hunts, build craft projects, do service projects, etc to earn badges. You save your badges and add to them on each trip. Along with the pool party where the kids play games, there could be Explorer Club meetings where something similar takes place. There could even be a meet and greet with the UP characters, or just have them at the camp fire with Chip and Dale.

You and Judy are such a blessing, Ken.  The babies you have loved... oh, the greeting you will receive in heaven.
Think about and pray for you both, often. 

When we were there at Christmas the parking area was a nightmare. On numerous occasions we were almost hit by a cart going down the wrong paths. I actually like the new set up, much more organized. 

Not a fan right now but maybe it will look better once it is decorated. Kinda looks like a labor and delivery recovering room.

Mornings at the Fort are so nice. One of my favorite times of the day really. Quite, just me, nature and my coffee. 
 

So where does the therapy pony stay? Or pig, monkey, llama, goat, hey what about a mini cow? With a cow you could have warm snuggles and fresh milk everyday. What loop do they get put in ;0). 

Wait a second. We need to back up to your posting on rules and folding chairs. What is this?
Pets (unless they are service animals, defined as any dog or miniature horse trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability) Miniature horse! WTFort! Who brings a miniature horse to a park? Who even uses a miniature horse as a service animal?

I would love to know the amount of people at the Fort on Halloween that are actual Disney guests compared to those who are "freeloaders". My guess is the freeloaders population is very small. There is no way to monitor any of these guest. Think of all the ways into the Fort, boat, bus, walking from the Lodge, etc, to monitor all of this for one night is too much. What I see happening is the Fort shutting the entire thing down, that would be the easiest solution. Sometimes complaints, good or bad, do not have the results we desire. 

I agree that those people are not strictly registered Fort guests but they might be, and probably are, Disney guests, meaning from other hotels on property. The freeloaders I am talking about are those who are not staying on park property.

I can't even imagine what all goes into moving the light parade floats. I think they should make a Disney special documentary on the entire process, I would watch.

I know some have suggested Lazydays and I may look into their facility but is there anything as we head North? What we need is a place to take the TT and have a new hitch attached to it. We would like to camp as we wait for the work to be completed. Ideally we would pull out of the Fort and tow to the RV place. We are having a Hensley placed on the TT if you are curious?
 
Just throwing this out there, has well but has anyone installed a Hensley on their own
