  1. We got caught once in colder than expected weather, and had to buy clothes we had at home. Our camper now has at least one pair of long pants, a sweatshirt and a light jacket for each of us on every trip. It doesn't take up much room, and you never know when you might need it on a cool evening. Yes, I despise buying stuff just because we didn't bring something.
  2. We've used it as a stop in the past. No problems... typical KOA. Clean and quiet. Lately we've been stopping at the Jacksonville North KOA, right at the Florida/Georgia line (hey!...) We stop twice driving down from PA, and Jacksonville has become our go-to second stop.
  3. Alcoholic drinks at a drive through? Are you serious? The anti-drunk driving groups in Pa. would have a stroke if someone tried that here.
  4. Yes...Congrats! I wondered what the new avatar was. Very nice!
  5. No way that's the overflow lot. I don't see a single utility trailer angled the wrong way across 3 spaces...
  6. I agree. And at most NASCAR races, there would be a least one person flat on their face on that dirt road...
  7. I saw it leaving in the bucket of a front loader. The fort hired an outside contractor to do the dirty work...
  8. And be sure to link a credit card to your magic band. Then you'll learn where Disney R&D came up with the name. Money disappears from your account like, well...magic...
  9. Thanks for the info, Grumpy! Ran over tonight and picked one up, and he signed it for us. It will look good over our fireplace!
  10. When did you pick that one up? We tried to get one last week...no luck!
  11. As far as Donnie goes, I'll second that. We rented the 5th wheel over July 4th for my sister's family. Couldn't have gone better. Quiet and near water? If you ask real nice, Donnie may drop it on Clementine's beach for you. It's relatively quiet, other than Lou's nightly water parade... Oh...almost forgot...WELCOME!!!!
  12. I noticed a bunch of utility trailers (I assume for carts) with the tow vehicles still attached, basically taking up 2 spots. Or cart trailers dropped with the hitches facing in, so no one could use the other half of the space without blocking them in. With just a little bit of intelligence and consideration, that lot could easily hold twice as much as is randomly thrown in it now.
  13. We saw that when we were headed out to DHS around 11:30. There was a huge backup of rigs leaving, and overflow has been full the last couple of days. Obviously they had nowhere to go, but I've never seen it before either.
  14. The electrical problems alone would be enough to keep me away. Plug into that without a surge protector and it's going to cost you thousands... if you don't just burn up your rig.
  15. We pull a 40' Fleetwood Fuel toyhauler with the same truck. Open interstate? I can almost forget I'm towing. And our last trip from PA to the fort we got just over 10 mpg, towing 16,000.
  16. I heard that Disney's next step is to actually implant RFID chips in AP holders. No chance of loss, you'll never forget it at home, and they could simply scan lost children and return them to their rightful owner!
  17. My personal theory...You can never have too much truck. Just about any truck sold today will pull a 30' camper. Controlling it and stopping it...that's a whole different story.
  18. Let's see... MRE's... Bottled water... Fire starter... Folding saw... Gas mask... Oh wait...wrong bag...
  19. Central PA to the fort...1100 miles. We've done it several times. Were down in June and July, headed back for Halloween. I'll agree with everyonevflse...get below Richmond, and you've got it beat. However...I have to ask...where are you staying in Santee? Tell me it's not the KOA...
  20. Nicely done. I'd put mickey ears on the tallest kid...with the striped shirt and red shorts. The ears are iconic. You have to have at least one pair. Ears on that kid would fit into open space in the background and not block anything out. Just my 2¢...
  21. That's some beautiful work, Lou. You can be very proud of it. Back in my college days, I dated a girl who had a brass pole like that in her bedroom. Now it all makes sense. Apparently she hadn't finished crafting her carousel horse yet...
  22. DW saw that on the news, and I wish I had a picture of the look on her face. We stayed there a few years ago. It freaked her out just a little.
  23. Yep...we'll be there. Just don't ask which night. DW bought the tickets. I'm thinking the 27th, but could be the 29th. I assume you're looking for pictures of Jack?
