Pro tip- the in-park Starbucks put out ice water dispensers and cups on hot days. Self service, and no waits. A few quick serve places do the same- like Casey's in the MK.

Tri-Circle-D got a reaction from caveat lector in RUMOR: Main Street Theater project cancelled?
Surprisingly, that idea is less crazy than this one:
The Guardians of the Galaxy Take the Stage at Epcot – StarLord, and Gamora from “The Guardians of the Galaxy” will join an alien band, taking guests on a journey through the cosmos. The party will feature hits from Awesome Mix Tapes 1 and 2 – fun and favorite tunes from the two movies’ soundtracks – building the anticipation for a new Epcot Guardians of the Galaxy attraction.

Noah Fence, but what business does that show have in the World Showcase?

Tri-Circle-D got a reaction from fladogfan aka Gretchen in Site Size Wheelchair Access
One little known fact is that for the past few years, there is a bus that goes directly from the Settlement bus stop to the MK. It only runs in the evening, starting at around 4 pm. It is there for guests leaving the Hoop Dee Doo dinner show, but anyone can ride it. On the return trip, the bus stops at Wilderness Lodge before heading to the Fort.
This direct bus is faster and less crowded than the boat.

Tri-Circle-D reacted to caveat lector in We're practically empty nesters, why not buy a new 5th wheel
It's been almost 10 years since I dipped my toe in the rv pool. This time I went big and hope an I don't live to regret it. I've heard / read that a 5th wheel is easier to pull than my old bunkhouse TT. Well, I now have 42 feet of possible proof of concept. Based on internet postings, I've either bought the best, worst, or somewhere in between brand. Forest river seems to have more fans than critics, but I believe it's subjective.
It's shakedown cruise will be a Fort trip in less than two months (thanks Jason).

Tri-Circle-D got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in Club 33....get your checkbooks out
The WDWMAGIC site reported that Disney has begun offering Club 33 memberships to Golden Oak home owners:
Reportedly, residents of Golden Oak have been approached about membership to Club 33, with pricing put at around $25,000 joining fee, and dues of $15,000 per year.
https://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions/magic-kingdom/news/26jan2018-club-33-sales-beginning-at-walt-disney-world.htm
Also, I have heard through the grapevine that Disney has hired its initial Club 33 CM team, and they are currently being trained for the lounges to be open this spring. Initially, only the venues at Epcot and DHS will be open, with the MK venue following later this year. The Epcot lounge will be located above the American Experience pavilion, and the DHS lounge will be located above the Disney Junior theater, with the entrance adjacent to the Brown Derby restaurant. The MK lounge will be adjacent to the Skipper Canteen restaurant. The DAK venue has not been disclosed- even to CM's. It is very interesting to note that these venues are lounges only- not full service restaurants, like the original Club 33 in Disneyland.
So $40K to have access to two repurposed vacant spaces to buy overpriced cocktails and appetizers. Good luck with that.

Tri-Circle-D reacted to WrigleysWagon in Fire Extinguisher Recall
Someone had previously posted this in the technical issues board, but it only had 25 views. Seeing as how almost 40 million extinguishers are involved it should probably get a little more attention. Apparently Kidde brand fire extinguishers with plastic handles are either failing to work, or are coming apart when discharged. Below is a link with info on the recall, and another to the page Kidde redirects you to if you have an affected extingusher. Stay safe!

Tri-Circle-D got a reaction from fladogfan aka Gretchen in I-4 Named the Most Dangerous Highway in America
I feel for you- that is a very bad stretch of road. My oldest DD currently lives right outside Winter Park, about 20 miles from WDW. She often declines offers to meet up at WDW because traffic is so bad on I-4, and the alternate routes are no better.

Tri-Circle-D got a reaction from Avatab.... Steve in I-4 Named the Most Dangerous Highway in America
This surprises me.
Of all the highways in America, the most dangerous one is the one that I frequently drive to visit WDW and my daughters:
I-4 named the most dangerous highway in America
ABC Action News Uncovers where risk is highest
I-4 has been named the most dangerous highway in America by GPS tracking company, Teletrac Navman. Using federal data, they found I-4 is death road with 1.25 fatalities per mile.
TAMPA, Fla. -- I-4 has been named the most dangerous highway in America by GPS tracking company, Teletrac Navman. Using federal data, they found I-4 is death road with 1.25 fatalities per mile.
We broke I-4 up into three sections:
near Tampa near Plant city Lakeland to Disney World. We dug deeper looking at accident reports going back to January 2016.
From Malfunction Junction to I-75, 503 total crashes occurred. Most of those happen between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Friday is the worst day. April and August were the worst months. Most crashes involve drivers in their late 20s.
The most dangerous stretch of highway along this stretch of I-4 is at the Florida State Fairgrounds and the Seminole Hard Rock Casino.
Moving east, we looked at I-4 through Plant City. In the past 22 months, 388 crashes occurred there. Most of those happen between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. Sunday is the most dangerous day. August is the most dangerous month. Drivers in their early 20s are in the most crashes.
The hot zones where you are most at risk? From Mango Road near Armwood High to Dinosaur World!
And the most dangerous section of the most dangerous highway in America happens to run right through the happiest place on Earth from Lakeland to Orlando.
Since 2016, 775 crashes have occurred. The worst time is around 8:00 a.m. Saturday, the worst day. August, the worst month. Drivers in their 20s account for a third of the crashes.
The stretch where you are more likely to get into an accident? The 15-mile drive from Champions Gate to SeaWorld.
The U.S. Department of Transportation says traffic fatalities have grown 10 percent since 2015.

Note that this news station is based in Tampa.
I find it interesting that they are saying the stretch between Champions' Gate and Sea World is the worst, when the road to the east of Sea World through downtown Orlando seems a lot worse to me.

Perfect timing with the Festival of the Arts photos, as it is kicking off again this weekend.
That unidentified food dish inthe photo you posted is the beef short rib from the booth in France. It came with parsnip purée, broccolini, tomatoes and balsamic.

I meant to comment on this and add that I've seen folks attempt to load and unload guests at the Settlement intersection, and it is a VERY dangerous situation. There is no safe place for guests to stop there, and doing so creates a problem for all others at that busy intersection. DON'T DO IT.

Tri-Circle-D reacted to DaveInTN in Date for hall of pres. opening? (ETA: Open now)
Some people think it's all about them. They want to make a name for themselves with the like-minded fools on social media. I don't care what your politics are; there used to be a thing called decency and decorum in this country. You didn't yell and scream and act like a fool because there were likely children watching and learning from your antics. How many kids have been at the Hall of Presidents over the past decade as decency has eroded in this country, and had what should have been a beautiful and patriotic show ruined because some idiot made a scene. If I were there with my kids and someone acted like that he'd end up on social media for another reason. Listen, I get it. We don't always like the person in the White House. Fortunately, our Founders gave us this neat thing called Elections to do something about it. Making a scene at a show populated by robots in Disney World doesn't make you a #resistor....it makes you a jerk.
