  1. Depends on your model of IPAD. Is it the older one or the newer with the lightning connector I have the forgotten version, the one about 2 years old between the 2 and the 3. I got an audio/video/power cable off of Amazon. You can charge with it and also output audio and video to your tv (if the tv has the proper connections). It works for music and for videos but will not mirror the regular screen or show photos. There are similar ones on the market that has the lightning connector also. 4. Not cheap! Search for discounts. Adults start at $53, kids are $43. I went years ago with my kids school group. It was interesting and fun, but unless they added a lot it seems a little pricey now.
  5. They could tether over the Fort those radar type blimps the Coast Guard uses in the FL Straits to catch drug runners. Put them in 2 or 3 locations and broadcast Wi-Fi and non stop Disney programming along with subliminal messages to love the Fort management and spend more $$$. Aluminum Foil hats anyone?
  6. Ask your kids about the Wi-Fi router at home, or call your internet provider. It sounds harder to hook up than it is. Just connecting cables, sort of like plugging in an extension cord.
  7. Bridor Inc. today Bridor owns and operates four plants in North America: three in Canada and one in the U.S., in the state of New Jersey. Its sister company, Bridor France, has a factory in Rennes that serves all segments of the European market and other markets around the world. Bridor’s North American division employs a staff of 400 men and women, dividing sales between Canada and the United States. Bridor is known for its dynamic and professional sales force, its innovative marketing team with a finger on the pulse of the latest trends and consumer needs, and its forward thinking
  8. I'm not an expert by far, but if you think about it, probably every building/kiosk in the parks and the hotels have some sort of network connection for everything from their POS (cash registers) to who knows what. So it's fairly simple to add wireless equipment onto the network infrastructure that's in place. Run a cable and power to the attic and stick a Wi-Fi router and away you go. Fort is another animal. Only things secure in the loops are the comfort stations. That's not to say they couldn't add equipment sheds and the necessary equipment to the loops, but it all boils down to the a
  9. It's the artificial trees blocking the Wi-Fi access! Wi-Fi could be done, but it would be a major undertaking to get decent reception througout the Fort. The equipment would need to be kept safe and dry. Even if they tried to install it at each comfort station the sites on the back of the loops would probably be lacking service. Then you would open up another can of worms about some sites are better than others. They could build some sort of secure box/shack on the backside of the loops to get better coverage, but again that costs $$ that they may not recoup. Should they do it? I'd say
  10. Grumpy and Grandma and TCD are correct, get it from the Meadow. Deposit is no longer required. I can't remember if I even showed any ID or magic band. They do ask your site number, then you sign the checklist showing all the parts they give you. Everything comes in a handy tote bag. They supposedly are in demand and in short supply, so go get one as soon as you're done setting up. Instructions are included for hooking up the modem, and if you want to hook up the coax to your tv (coax splitter included). The coax cable connection is in a small box on your power pole. It's fairly s
  11. Have you looked into GPSs made for truckers? They show restrictions etc.
  12. I think Orlando has the distiction of having the most toll roads of any area in FL. They are everywhere and the suckers err I mean tourists fund them. They did a report, and one road charges your something like $1.75 to go a little more than a mile. When questioned the toll authority says that you pay more for shorter distances and it evens out in the longer drives. Welcome to FL. We don't have a state income tax, but we will get your $$ some other way...
  13. Congratulations you found a couple of the few toll free roads in Florida! No tolls since they are both Interstates.
  14. Eating at Disney cooking like Disney at home blog says the self serve is gone, $3.99 a serving, and they will have souvineer glasses and bowls, but no rum laced ones.
  15. Can't comment on those loops but can give you a little insight on a canal site. We stayed in the 1500 loop (tent/pop-up) and our site backed up to the canal. It makes for a nice view especially if you like wild life. We had turkeys going thru and around our site, deer across the canal, and a 5-6 foot gator swimming where we were fishing. The 1500 loop has a pretty good sized grassy section behind it up to the canal. It's kind of like a bonus area. The Google satellite map shows the grassy area continuing down past 1800 and 1600.
  16. Yup I am. Rainy days you tried to get a seat in the middle of the tram car and in the middle of the row to stay dry. Got wet and sweated in the summer, ate bugs, and froze in the winters... but they were still fun. And I was a lot younger back then!
  17. Well they sure were fun. I understand they were not ADA compliant and Disney would've had to have something else in place for the riders that use wheelchairs, mobility devices, etc. I think in keeping with the theme of the Fort, they should use Covered Wagons and buckboard wagons as transportation! Golf carts should be banned and instead they could rent those surrey bikes that are over at the Boardwalk. It would make a safer walking environment, and the renters would get a really really good workout! ( I hate those surreys almost as much as the paddleboats and those big 3 wheeled water
  18. But if you get a cabin too close to the bus stop you will hear them, especially if they do the kneeling and it's associated warning sound. We have never had a golf cart in all the times we have stayed at the Fort. We use bikes, walk or busses. If you do get on the wrong bus it can turn out to be a fun relaxing ride... as long as you're not pressed for time or have a reservation somewhere. The busses arent as much fun as the open aired trams they used to have back in the "Good Old Days". If you do walk/bike, there are some shortcuts. You can go into the 2100 loop, follow the path to th
  19. What's interesting is I got an email about the Disney Halloween items (showed the string lights) and clicked on the shop now link. It took me to two pages of assorted goodies including Jack Skellington string lights but no Mickey Pumpkin ones. They showed up when I did a search for lights. They also had the Christmas ones.
  20. So there won't be any wholesale changes on the lakefront without going thru the same process that everyone in Fl has to.
  21. I would say it's under-utilized or undeveloped. Does Disney have to follow any environmental/mitigation rules since this is private property and a private lake? I know if a regular developer tried to take out that much greenspace on a lakeside, they would be tied up in courts for eternity.
  22. Is the hollow reed the noodling part of Catfish Noodling? :rofl3:
  23. Drone display rained out for the 250th day in a row.... C'mon down the weathers great!
  24. The list they give at the desk didn't seem to have that many if I remember correctly, and they didn't tell exactly where to look.
