  1. To make it fair, go back to the old admission ticket and ride ticket system! Make the admission reasonable and pay for the rides you want to go on. Case closed! That'll be 1 E ticket or 3 A's and a B.
  2. Syndicated column Dear Prudence in a Tampa newspaper today posed an interesting question.... It's okay to fool Disney? My husband and I are facing an ethical dilemma. His parents are comfortable financially and it has become a tradition for us to fly down on school break to their home in Central Florida. Often, on their dime, we visit One of Central Florida's Most Popular Destinations. This year our youngest will be turning 3 just ahead of arrival. That is the 'magical' age at which admission must be paid. My in-laws have asked how we feel about passing him off as 2-year-old, thus getting
  3. It was much more impressive in person. A camera is not nearly as good as the human eye seeing the little things/details in these models. I enjoyed it much more than LegoLand just for the fact that TCD mentioned, these are hobbyists (well off hobbyists) and most of the models were built just for this show, and then taken apart. On the cityscapes some of the roads were tiny smooth topped Legos, not just a pre formed plate. They had one rectangular table setup, must've been 30 feet long buy 15 feet wide. All of the models had moving parts and each one was passing ball bearing sized soccer
  4. The next few, any Monty Python fans? on to other things 80s icons this was the other end of the table from Yankee Stadium graffiti on the box cars I think this gives everyone a good idea of what was there. The pictures don't really do the models justice.
  5. Instead of 12 tiny reindeer it's 8 big gators
  6. You can see it and a lot of other Disney prints at http://larrydotson.com/
  7. It's happened to me. You click post and it doesn't seem like it's done anything, so you click again. What I've found that works (If you're not posting a lot of pictures) is click post. If nothing happens, copy what you've just typed, then go to the top of the page and click view new content. If the thread is there with you as the last poster it probably took. Open it and see if your post is there. If not, hit reply and paste in what you copied previously. Copying what you're typing is a good idea also if it's a lengthy post or you have to step away from the pc for a few minutes. You
  8. These are a few of the pictures from Brickworld. I had some problems getting them loaded to the sharing site so it was pretty late by the time I got started putting them on here. The first picture is Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, the the Tampa Yankees home field and where the Yankees play during Spring Training.
  9. All that is very true, but I'm surprised some lawyer hasn't latched onto it and started a discrimination nusance suit!
  10. I will try to get some linked, but we are packing for our Fort trip on Thursday. Priorities.
  11. Did anyone other than me and my granddaughter get a chance to go? If not, you missed a wonderful experience. It was fantastic, The models and construction was even better than Legoland. There were thousands of models, billions of bricks and millions of $$$$ invested. I ended up taking over 200 photos. I'll try to get some posted in the next couple of days. If you didn't make this one, you should search for ones near your hometowns.. They just had a big one in Indianapolis the beginning of the month. Whats impressive, is these are hobbyists and local builders not someone on a payr
  12. They will have a blast. Have them look at the Fort map and see where things are laid out. If they get a very low or a very high number cabin, they are usually closer to the loop entrances (but you will be closer to the busses). I think the map states the loop # range. If they plan on cooking then bring a crock pot, coffee, filters, etc. It's easy to get from the cabins on a bike, especially if they cut through the 2100 to 1100 path.
  13. There was no way I was going to be able to submit the entire story using my phone in a grocery store parking lot. Glad some people are still using pcs! :-)
  14. Channel 6 in Orlando posted about a half hour ago that Disney Officials said the hat was being removed early 2015
  15. Thats a closer drive than I'm going to have to make from my house in N Tampa!
  16. Maybe they will go retro and replace it with a giant Dan'l Boone oops I mean Davy Crockett coonskin hat!
  17. Meant to post this earlier. If you are bored with the Fort and/or WDW this weekend and want a change of pace, check this out. It runs Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 10-4. Parking is $6 Fairgrounds are less than a mile south of I-4 and it's before you get into Tampa itself. And it's only a few exits west of Camping World and close to LazyDays! http://brickworld.us/tampa/ Brickworld Tampa 2014:If you aren't familiar with Brickworld LEGO expositions, here is a video of the displays courtesy of Sean Carroll Films. Enjoy!! Brickworld Tampa 2014 will be held October 25 & 26. We hope
  18. Unfortuneately, the Fort is run by the majority of the campers peers. Disney has taken the "Have a Magical Day" concept a little too far, and people have been taking advantage of it more and more. I guess they are taking the concept of this being a wilderness fort and allowing lawlessness to set in. They need to man (woman) up and realize like a few stores the "the customer isn't always right". Rules that were enforced years ago started sliding away when Disney realized that people spend more $$ when anything goes and they can do what the heck they want when they want. Junior's ridin
  19. My friend got a BGE style grill from an Ace Hardware store more than a year ago. It was sitting in the back by itself and they had marked it down to I think $200. He got it and they even delivered it to him. But he's never set it up! Lowes in Tampa had these over the summer and they were around $600-700. They are called the Bayou Classic Cypress Ceramic. Well there was a picture of an odd colored green grill, but when I tried to submit the post it didn't like it. So here's a link to it http://www.bayouclassicstore.com/Charcoal%20Grills/500-515.html
  20. Where's TCD when you need him? If he has no problem walking up to Luke Bryans and the Lucklows busses trying to look in the windows he would surely go up to this and take pictures of the interior!
  21. Maybe they need to widen the driveways a little bit near the road to prevent tire slippage.
