  1. We stayed in the 2000 loop one time. Never again if I can help it. Sites were nice, there is a shortcut thru the group camp site to the 900 loop that saves a lot of walking to the meadow. But it was a free for all the weekend we stayed. Anything and everything goes. Plus we lost power for over a 1/2 day. It's a shame Fort management decides to bury their heads in the sand instead of cracking down on the troublemakers and allow the rest of the people to enjoy their stay.
  2. Yeah, the only job where you can be wrong the majority of the time and still get paid.
  3. If a Parking "Deck" has a dog has a dog walk area, would that be considered a Poop Deck?
  4. It was amazing how far off the original forecast was. Good old Dennis (Tampa ABC supposed weatherman) really screwed up on this one. Now he's getting all fired up about the cold temps coming this week? He says temps dropping to the 20's? Channel 6 in Orlando shows lows in the high 40's a couple of evenings. Big difference. I wish I could get paid as much as these talking heads and be wrong the majority of the time. What a gig!
  5. I agree that by making it affordable for "everyone" to come back, they are counting on people spending $$. The Busch/Seaworld Fun Passes don't include parking, so there's a quick $20 everytime a car load comes back. But, at some point it gets too darn crowded for anyone to enjoy their visit, especially a vacationer with a limited amount of time. We bought our Seaworld Platinum pass in San Antonio when we went to our granddaughters birthday in Houston. We got a 2 year pass for about $200. That was less than a one year pass for the Tampa/Orlando parks. We got it on the EZ Pay sysyem, so i
  6. I already know the answer to this question (if people shell out the $$ theparks will take it), but I thought I'd throw it out there for other opinions. Do you think that amusment parks have finally gone overboard with annual passes, especially Busch Gardens/Seaworld with their buy a day get a year fun pass? The parks are just getting so overcrowded all the time now. At least with Disney there are 4 parks to divide the crowds up, but you go to the competitors and you have 1 park or go home. We are going to bite the bullet and purchase FL Resident Seasonal passes. We aren't crazy enough
  7. My younger granddaughter was, but she moved on to how to Train Your Dragons 2, and now the Annie remake.
  8. There's a .... wait for it... FROZEN version available now also!! Gee who would've thought....
  9. Getting slightly off topic (still pertaining to games) has anyone been as disgusted as me with the costs of kids games and the poor quality? We have been buying games and puzzles for the granddaughters from Goodwill and yard sales for the last few years, so now we have a closetful, and if we had paid full price it would be over $1000. Yes, we look up the original prices on line either in the store or when we get home We get the games from $1 to $3 and sometimes will splurge on a $4 one (Deluxe Scrabble with the revolving turntable board). Some are reissues of old classics, Connect 4, Re
  10. 25 years ago it would've been a big impressive hard plastic castle complete with eye gouging pointy turrets and spires. Now, sadly it's probably flimsy cardboard that you have to spend and hour trying to insert tab A into slot B before you can start playing. I would imagine the majority of the people probably never put it together after the first couple of times playing.
  11. When you fill up your free storage on photobucket, hop over and try imgur.
  12. We were in the 1500 loop for the 4th of July and brought our own wireless N router and hooked it up the the cable modem we signed out at the Meadow trading post. We had great signal and speed.
  13. It's been a long day.... I should have thought about that. I guess the Parks don't hit capacity at the end of February !
  14. I don't think you can load pictures directly to this site. You have to use a photo share site
  15. Most of the photo sharing sites allow you to save them at different sizes for uploading.
  16. Florida weather from October until March can be unpredictable at best. Today was 81 degrees in Tampa, but when we were at the Fort for Halloween it was in the 70's one day and then dropped to the low 40's overnight. Like someone said bring layers. We have never rented carts in all of our visits. We have used bikes, busses, and walked. The last trip my granddaughter brought her Razor (non powered) scooter and we walked instead of bikes. Busses are good, not great. They can be standing room only at times like after HDDR gets out or the electric Water Pageant. It seems to me that they don't
  17. Jarts were the best!!!!! Then some government nanny went and banned them because the general populace has the brains of a gnat and couldn't figure out that you had to keep your eye on them as they were traveling towards you! But back to the original question. A while ago Lowes had a pattern and material sheet showing how to make a set. Check Instructables.com, they have instructions also. We got a fabric and PVC set at a yard sale. It's a regular size one, but it's not as stiff a top as a wooden one. So it's more for family fun and not regulation play. But it folds up and is lightweight
  18. Don't worry about cans or bottles, just have a keg delivered!
  19. The Florida RV Supershow will be at the State Fairgrounds in Tampa on January 14 - 18. The fairground is located at Hwy 301 and I-4. On the way you'll pass the new General RV center, Camping World, Tampa RV, and Lazy Days. Great opportunities to drive home a new rig!
  20. Weather over here in Tampa will be rainy on Christmas Eve and in the 60s on Christmas Day. But they are calling for a hard freeze on New Years Eve and very cold New Years Day. Generally the Tampa area weather is a little warmer than Orlando due to the Gulf water temps. So bring your long johns and sweatsuits
  21. But that's the problem in a nutshell. You or anyone else that's a guest shouldn't have to approach another camper about poor behavior. The Fort personell should enforce the rules, or ultimately the guest should have enough common sense and courtesy to not be disturbing others. Back in the good old dark ages, the majority of campers seemed like they had an overall better code of conduct and respect for others than the common vacationer. They were a community. Now you've got everyone and their brothers decending on the Fort and other campgrounds and they treat it like any other place
