  1. Random crap is good, especially when you have 3 different shoes and no matches! As a lot of people already said, layers work the best. Things that pack down small that you can take in the parks with you that you can add/take away during the day as temps change. Nights in one spot I would make sure you had something pretty warm or again a couple of items that you can add together, long sleeve shirt, maybe a vest, then a warm jacket over the top. Keep your head covered and you will stay warmer. We just endured the Halloween blast of frigid weather (to us) tenting at the Fort. Ample bla
  2. Try this for a directory http://campflorida.com
  3. Not having a TT, I maybe off base, but here goes. Do you have everything for leveling the TT easily? I know for PUPs there is a BAL leveler that cranks up the low side real quick. What about campsite lights? There are a lot of novelty strings out there to decorate your site. Fort approved fire pit and a load of firewood? Portable grill, ie Weber Q or Coleman Road trip? Fishing gear. Video projector, screen and DVD player? Bunch of nerf guns?
  4. Let me put my 2 cents in. We bought a used Magic Chef off Craigslist for $60. If you look at the different brands they are remarkably similar looking, a different color, a different button. Almost seems like the same company makes all of them and just puts different nameplates on. My wife read a bunch of reviews about this one and the majority were positive, so we bought it. It does start making cubes in about 15 to 20 minutes. The first batch is good for an already chilled drink, they are a little on the small and soft size. The second batch is much better. It'll make 20 to 25 pounds in 24 h
  5. Not a dining problem, but a problem with people that know what the heck is going on. Example Halloween cart parade. Now I was pretty sure it was going down the main road like the 4th of July did. But being a concerned fussbudget, while we were at the dog costume contest I asked one of the CMs. She said the hitch unhitch down the front of the meadow to the settlement area. So next day, we are down by the Settlemnt for the character meet and greet (another fiasco, no one there knew where the characters were going to be)! On the way down there were tons of people and chairs lined up along t
  6. I couldnt get that link to launch, got a 404 error Try this one, hopefully it'll work, it looks just like Kelly's so keep your fingers crossed. http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions/marketplace/news/14nov2014-santa If it doesnt work just go to www.wdwmagic.com, and go down the page about 1/2 way.
  7. I used to work there, and our big competitor was Maas Brothers. There was Robinsons also.
  8. What you have (i.e. Class A, TT, 5th wheel): POP UP If you're towing (so TT or 5th wheel) how heavy is it: 900-1000 If you tow, what is your tow vehicle: 2002 RAM 1500 6 CYL 150,000 MILES Gas mileage: 17-18 HWY... LITTLE LESS WITH THE PUP Do you like it, love it or hate it (this applies to both the tow vehicle and what you're towing (or driving if Class A or C): LOVED IT UNTIL THE DASH STARTED DISENTEGRATING If you'd like to make a change, change to what and why: WOULD LIKE 4 DOOR TRUCK OR SMALLER BETTER MILEAGE 4 DOOR TRUCK
  9. Some vehicles can be towed with the rear wheels down and in neutral, it depends on how the transmission is made. Some still pump fluid to the components while in N which is good and others don't which causes a problem. The dealer or a good tranny shop should be able to tell you if you can tow rear down w/o issues. And if you can slide under the Jeep easy enough, pulling the driveshaft shouldn't take long... after the first time breaking everything loose.
  10. Great. I haven't been to a Bealls Outlet in a long time since they closed the one by my house. Very rarely went to a real Bealls. But they are called the Florida Store for a reason, they do carry a lot of beachy type of decor and Florida lifestyle clothing.
  11. It was an old flatbed type pick up truck with a recording of chugging/backfire sounds. There may have been more than 1. It would go around the loops at breakfast time selling things you might need (eggs, milk, coffee, cereal, fruit, BACON, etc.) so you didn't have to go to the trading posts. It would stop at 2 or 3 spots in the loops and ring one of those triangle shaped chuckwagon bells. Someone had posted a picture or postcard of it a while back. That and the train were great and what made the Fort unique.
  12. If you want to shop off property and have decor that's not all Disney, Bealls and Bealls Outlets used to always have signs, coasters, knick knacks, etc. beach themed. The outlets were a lot less $$$.
  13. I searched on line, and It looks like a version that is sold at Wal Mart.
  14. Guys, how does the Road Trip work? We just picked up a used one today for $80. It has 1 grill piece, 1 griddle piece, a stainless steel pot rack, and a large tank adapter hose. It has the stand also. Anything special I need to know about it?
  15. Saw some from the monorail in the wooded area along the lake between the Contemporary and the ticket transportation center
  16. Ken, are you disparaging the beautiful slush ice you get from the CS machines? It's much easier to chew on than the trading post ice.
  17. Well it was a good one then. There was an handwritten cardboard out of order sign taped to the machine also. When I saw the sticker it, it sure made me happy that we purchased a portable ice maker.
  18. Maybe look at a turkey breast instead of a whole turkey, that should cook in a crock pot. If you cook the breast before you leave, then freeze it in a bag with gravy, you would only have to reheat it. We did baked potatoes in our crock pot Halloween weekend. They came out good, but I would start them the night before. I would make as much as possible ahead of time and freeze the items, then reheat in a crokpot or on a stove or the grill. Our food stayed frozen in our ice chests, in fact I had a hard time getting our chili out of the container to put in the crock pot. That's what I ge
  19. TCD, there wasn't a yellow sticker on the right of the 1500 machine that said the ice was $3.25? It was there over Halloween, the price surprised me. Maybe it was someones idea of a joke. I didn't check out any other Loops.
  20. My daughter saw it this weekend and thought it was a little on the "dark" side, said there were a few deaths in it. My 5 year old granddaughter loved it and wanted to go see it again. My daughter thinks the darker parts went over her head so they didn't bother her.
  21. We usually try to come out on Fridays, sometimes Thursday.
  22. Guess it must just be us weekenders that think the Fort is always full. Guess when I retire it'll be easier to get a site.... Except my wife watches one of our granddaughters after school during the week so... It'll still be hard.
