  1. I brought this subject up last fall, and Lou.. yes that Lou, said it's only the weekends when the Fort fills up. During the week there are a lot of empty sites. So, maybe they should make some additional loops that are only open Friday thru Monday for the weekend crowd. The rest of the week they could chain/gate it off and lock the comfort stations. No cleaning, no trash pick up. Just a quick spruce up late Thursday or early Friday before the chains/gates come down. Problem solved.
  2. Getting off track (slightly), years ago when the kids were younger we used to stop at the Fort for lunch/dinner when we visited Orlando. We would take the Tram down to the Settlement Trading Post and visit the deli where we would get made to order sandwiches, pickles, chips, sodas, and a $1 beer for dad. We would then head down to the beach, grab a table, and if it was warm enough let the kids swim while we relaxed. Yes, we let them swim in that bacteria infested lake water and they had a blast. We usually hit the petting zoo before heading back out.
  3. Leave the tip off, turn it upside down and use it as a funnel to make the worlds largest funnel cakes.
  4. Harbor Freight has the typical steel ones and then an aluminum one. I've seen the steel ones for as little as $39 when they have a parking lot sale. Currently for 500 pound capacity, they are $70 for steel and $100 for aluminum. They also have a ramped mobility carrier for $175
  5. Order from Amazon and have it delivered! Do you really want to go to a mall... ugh. I hate those type of shopping trips. Now a grocery store, hardware store, Dollar Tree or Goodwill and I'm all in!
  6. My daughter moved up to Minneapolis from Omaha this past summer. Omaha could get darn cold. Minneapolis temps are just plain crazy. We have been having a few crappy days here in Tampa, highs in the 50's and 60's with overcast skies and on and off rain. Feel bad for the Fort campers if it's been as nasty over there. Supposed to warm up tomorrow to the 70's with sun.
  7. So if it's safe enough for DisneyLand, why not DisneyWorld? Do they have better trained engineers out there?
  8. Where's the Space Mountain shirt? Today is it's 40th Birthday!!
  9. We don't do big rides anymore. We like shows, the calmer rides and just walking around. Since we have passes, it's no big deal to run over and just stroll around, but I still miss the free beer! My 9 year old granddaughter is the thrill seeker. She's been on all the rides at Busch except for the new Falcons Fury. Her mom doesnt want her on it, afraid she'll fall out. She did Sheikra, but wasnt too happy about it, so she hasnt been back on it. She won't wait in line if it's longer than 5 minutes. Did you ride Gwazi? It's closing 2/1 and being torn down. So if there are any wooden coas
  10. I like those BG lines better than when we went a couple of weeks before Christmas. It was so crowded you could barely move
  11. To me that experience was better than an E ride.
  12. Impressive, but for the cost you could get quite a few of the cheaper ones and pay someone to set them up for you!
  13. I've had this kind of thing happen in my own family where, despite me giving them a bunch of info ahead of time, they showed up to MK for an afternoon, completely unprepared. They essentially walked in, met Mickey, rode the train around, bought some toys and left. And then swore it would be a really long time before they ever go back. Our friends sister, brother in law and 2 kids essentially did the above, but didn't complain. We were at our friends house the next day and his sister was saying how they saw the entire MK in one day and did everything. Now granted this was back in the
  14. They probably delayed it so they could pay off some of the billions they invested in the Magicless Bands/FastPass systems. I'm sure just the entry fees from the marathon yesterday (25,000 runners) was enough to fun the moat project!
  15. And I'm sure it all boils down to $$$. They don't want to fire up extra transportation if the monorail is going to get moving in 5 minutes. But then the 5 minutes turns into 10, 20, 50 etc because they couldnt do a quick fix, and now they missed the sweet spot of getting the alternative transportation moving into place before a huge backup occured. It's like a municipality planning for a snowstorm. Do you bring your people in on OT before the storm hits and burn thru your budget, or wait until it hits and save $$, but then the roads may be so bad the plow drivers can't get in. I'm sure
  16. If you think about it, any transportation on a "closed" system will cause havoc when it breaks down. At least Disney has a way (most of the time) to get a breakdown out of the way. In the real world, if a train breaks down blocking road crossings and the track, it can be hours before a suitable engine is located and routed to move the break down. Are the monorails perfect, no, but I feel they have done a great job, and I couldn't imagine Disneyworld without them. I'm just glad that our family was able to enjoy riding with the engineer in the front car before they stopped allowing tha
  17. Any parent screaming at a crying kid telling them they are "going to have a good time or else"!
  18. Just a reminder that the show is coming up next week. They are cranking up the radio/tv ads. Easy on the spot financing! Great deals! and giving away 2 TT as door prizes. $10 for 2 day admission for adults.
  19. Think of the millions of people and the hundreds of thousands of miles they have traveled. I'd say their record is pretty amazing. I dont think any municipal system would have held together for so long.
  20. For the cost of them it's probably shredded $100 bills.
