  1. Ebay has them listed from $150 to $2500. Personally I think it was a dumb idea to remove them. How many people remember what color socks they have on let alone the color of monorails involved in an accident years ago. Society is getting to be too overly cautious or "sensitive". Look at those parents that are getting investigated for child endangerment because they let their kids go to the park by themselves.
  2. We loved the original show from the 70's and 80's, and early 90's. We were very dissappointed when they changed it in 98 with Iago and Zazu. We haven't been back to the parks since it's reverted to it's close to original format. It was one of my favorite shows, but nothing beats Country Bears.
  3. Oklahoma City has a great science/kids museum complex. Also the Cowboy Museum Norman OK is the home of the Sooners if you are into college football. Colorado Springs has the Garden of the Gods Park and Pikes Peak (don't think you would want to drive the 5ver up that!) You could take the Cog Railroad up. Thats about all my knowledge of those areas.
  4. Frozen was cute, but it was another typical Princess movie. The Lego Movie was original, was well made and had a great storyline. If it had princesses it would've blown away Frozen!
  5. It was good, but it wasn't The Lego Movie or How to Train Your Dragon 2 good.
  6. Interesting article. I was shocked and disappointed at how crappy the Disney channel has become. We had it when the kids were growing up,and it was a great family channel full of Disney cartoons and Disney movies. Fast forward to when my granddaughter started watching it. Gone were the beloved Disney movies and cartoons, replaced by shows about smart assed tweens ruling their homes (when you even see parental figures), or just living their lives the way they want with no adult influence whatsoever. The kids are always right, the adults are always stupid or wrong. I hate their entire
  7. Now are they going to put in low and high readers? One for passenger cars, and another for the extra tall tow vehicles?
  8. This info is from allears.net and may be old news to a lot of you. http://allears.net/tix/tixincrease.htm They have a breakdown of all the types of tickets, prices, and when the new prices took affect. It's broken down by decades. The change dates jump around a bit from June 2 in 2013 to February 23 in 2014. It's an interesting historical read. They list CM and Comp tickets and meal tickets also. Number of price increases by month since 1971 January - 4 May - 4 September - 4 February - 8 June - 11 October - 5 March - 5 July - 0
  9. Things may have changed since we got our seasonal pass maybe 4 years ago? We got ours when they added on an extra 3 or 4 months. We got vouchers to redeem at the park for the passes. When we went to purchase in them in December I did it over the phone and was told that we had to activate them by a certain date in January. I don't know it that was because of the extra months deal, or if that was a normal thing. I would call and ask them. In the same vein, I was going to purchase seasonal passes last night on line. When I got to the billing portion, it said I could only use 1 gift c
  10. Well, it is a great price if you purchase it when you are younger, and if the park stays open. If you get it when you are 25, and stop going at 75 (50 years) it'll come out to $50 a year and you have free premium parking to boot! But yes you would have to like Legos, very tame rides and a few so so shows. But you do get the water park also. It's a relaxing park.. We had passes when it first opened, but we didn't renew them. Maybe when I retire and have more time we will get them again.
  11. Yup, and when you bought your admission ticket and ride tickets to the MK you got a transportation pass for the boat and monorail.
  12. If you're lucky you will see a deer or two and maybe some turkeys.
  13. Maybe the "fireworks" scheduled at the BAH will be someone in the special party getting to push a button that will set off some C-4 and finish the demo in a blaze of glory!
  14. Only if they are jacked up gas powered ones without a muffler and a stereo playing death metal as loud as it can. Need to scare the wildlife off the path so they don't get run over.
  15. We were in 1510 for Halloween in our tent instead of pop-up. The first night it started raining and it sounded like it was pouring 1/2 the night. Got up the next morning and only a few things outside were slightly damp, most were dry including the picnic table! Guess it only rained on the tent itself.
  16. Yeah we have comic book/gaming/collectible stores. But I miss the good old days of going to the corner store with 50 cents, hanging out for an hour or two looking at all the comics, then buying one or two, a soda, and a pack of baseball cards with that weird pink gum in it and the waxed paper wrapper.
  17. 1500 is a great loop. I would love to tell you how great your tent set up looks, but I won't! My work pc blocks this sites photos, so I can't see what it looks like. I'll check them out when I get home. Tampa is in for rain and cooler temps starting later today and thru Saturday afternoon. Hope the storm system stays away from you.
  18. How much do comic books cost now, and where do you even find them anymore. I know there are "specialty" shops, but when I was growing up (after fighting off the dinosaurs) you could go to just about any neighborhood mom and pop store or a grocery store and pick up the latest issue for either a dime or twelve cents. The big double issues would cost a quarter. Last time I looked at a comic book a few years back they were in the $2 to $3 range.
  19. I remember this from the 60's I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not quite sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
  20. Florida schools are having early Spring Breaks, most in March at all different weeks, so that may help with the crowds a bit at Easter time.
  21. My kids and grandkids were at the parks this past weekend, and from the pictures, someone had a Baymax, I'm guessing one of the granddaughters. I also say an OrangeBird cup of some sort.
