  1. I had said this a while ago on another post about prices. I don't particularly like the high rices, but add in the things you get for free like boat rides, movies, campfires, etc and it makes it a little more tolerable. Especially when you see the prices that some of the other sites charge for 2 people and what the extra costs are for kids/others. Some state parks will be less expensive but what do they have to offer besides pure camping?
  2. FL sells beer and wine in grocery stores/ convenience stores. You get the hard stuff and everything else in a liquor store. BUT legislation has been introduced to start selling liquor in grocery stores also. That is how it is in Nebraska. I was surprised walking down an aisle of a Super Target and found an aisle of all the popular liquors. Oklahoma has beer in the grocery stores, but it's 3.2 watered down stuff. If you want real beer you go to a package store. Those stores are not allowed to sell ice or anything cold including soda. Utah, I don't even want to go there. They have the wei
  3. Now add a kid or two and all the needed accessories and we will see how their tiny dream house works for them!
  4. You're probably there more than a lot of locals! I don't utilize my Busch pass all that much, but my wife and granddaughter go to Adventure Island (waterpark) about 3 days a week in the summer in the mornings before the crowds hit. Disney passes are a bargain if you have the time to utilize them. But they are still a lot more $$ than their competitors. Traveling from Tampa, we will get out $$ worth out of our seasonal passes, but won't be there as much as someone from the immediate area that can run over after work when the parks are open later.
  5. So they quit their jobs built a tiny house and are driving around the country. Must be nice. Do they ever say where their $$ comes from to pay to live? I see her parents followed them to Orlando. Is mom and dad paying for their adventure? No matter how you look at it, it must be costing them about $200 a week or more in expenses.
  6. My daughters watch the various tiny house TV shows. To me they make absolutely no sense since it seems like they are reinventing the wheel. They spend a ton of money on a small shell, then another ton designing ways to store/hide all of their essentials. Why not just purchase a travel trailer or park model trailer. They are made to be moved, and already have all the storage built in and they cost a lot less!
  7. In general nowadays people demand everything to be perfect in their day to day lives, and they don't want to be bothered with details, excuses or logical explanations as to why something didn't go their way Disney Magic hype, their print/TV advertising and mailers, and promises, just make it worse once people drive under those welcoming arches. They were promised Disney Magic, and damn it, they are going to get it no matter how many other people they have to screw over or how many crying kids they have to drag thru the parks!
  8. We decided to get FL resident seasonal passes last month after a 5 year break of not going to the parks. On the way to the window at Downtown Disney to get them we almost changed our mind due to the crowds and rude people. But we did get them since my 3 daughters and 2 grandkids have them. It's amazing how much Disney( and the other parks) charge for a 1 day ticket and how much more expensive Disney's annual passes are compared to Busch, LEGOLAND, and Universal. We will have to see if we ours next year. We have used them 2 times, so another visit and we have covered the cost then the re
  9. It's because you have flat land and decent weather. You don't need indoor rinks!
  10. So maybe they are really going to be bringing back the Purple Monorail !
  11. I refuse to go in the summer to hear Brazilians chanting and being obnoxious. We ran into Brazilian groups at MK and AK two Fridays ago. Guess it's not just summertime now. Maybe instead of making more parks in Asian countries, they should build one in S America. That would lessen the crowds here. Plus it was the Cheerleader Competitions week/weekend, so there were hundreds of bubbly, ear piercing squealing girls running around. We were shocked how crowded the MK was for a Friday in February. Of course we hadn't been to the parks in about 5 years, so when my daughters got there,
  12. I can't understand why everyone needs to take selfies all the time. But I think a selfie stick would be great if you turned the phone around, and used it to get pictures above peoples heads for parades, etc.
  13. The freeloaders don't like the little cabin pool, so they can leave that one open 24 hours
  14. Nope, she would have the heat cranked to 80, bundled in a snowmobile suit, and under 2 down comforters drinking steaming bowls of soup.
  15. What's nice if you buy more than 1, you can make a fresh one while the other is cooking, and each one can be made with different ingredients. They have an apple dessert that sounds really good and everything is pretty quick. A burger takes 4 minutes.
  16. They didn't have them listed on line, thought maybe I could save you a trip. My wife would die at 15 degrees. She's freezing when it hits 50.
  17. No Dollar Trees up in the frozen north?
  18. This is an As Seen on TV stoneware microwave cooker. I came across it at a local Dollar Tree and figured what the heck for a buck it was worth a try. Usually these things are a bust and not worth much more than a dollar. It had some simple recipes included in the box. We tried the poached egg. Zap it for 20 seconds, rest for 20, then another 20 second zap. Put it on toast and it was great. My wife looked it up on line and it got really great reviews from numerous sites and there are tons of recipes out there. We made the omelet (2 minutes) and it came out a perfect size for a breakfast sa
  19. We just got a Yonanas frozen desert maker and tried a Dole Whip recipe we saw on line. All you do is add semi softened pineapple chunks to the Yonanas and out comes soft serve pineapple sorbet. For the first try it was pretty decent. I think next time I'll let the pineapple chunks soften a little more and make it smoother. You can mix in cool whip to the sorbet to make it creamier if you want.
  20. So shopping at Downtown Disney has gone from Disney related items to high end shaving accessories. Yup, Walt would be spinning in his grave.
  21. I have taken in full refillable thermos type water bottles into Busch/SeaWorld parks and also Disney. At SeaWorld I refilled it numerous times with water at the self serve drink kiosks, but I always asked the attendant first. I've even gotten them filled with water at the regular stands where you were waited on. Busch/SeaWorld limits food to snack type items, but if you are creative you can get small sandwiches in,
