  1. General RV Center We are located in between Exits 14 and 17 off of I-4. Enter from Hwy 92. 13396 E US Highway 92Dover, FL 33527Local: 813-305-2500Toll Free: 800-388-8627
  2. Now before I get berated, I fully understand the idea of getting rid of the Fort Trams and going with busses (but you can't make me like it). Some of the long time inhabitants may be able to answer this question or two. Is it just me, or when the trams were around it seemed like they ran a lot more often then the busses. I feel like you didn't have to wait more than 5 to 10 minutes to catch a ride. And they loaded and unloaded a lot faster. Did the golf carts start up or get more popular when they trams disappeared? Did the bus service start to get slower as more golf carts got rented
  3. And if you're lucky, she has a decent phone and connection at her home, you will be able to hear her clearly, and she speaks decent English without a thick accent of some kind. If you get all of that in one call, Thats some strong Pixie Dust!
  4. Quite a few of the sites with elaborate decorations said they were staying another week or more, but there was a steady stream of vehicles going past the front and back of the meadow from about 10 till 12.
  5. Guess some peoples earnings have bounced back. There's a new RV dealer off I-4 not too far from Camping World. It didn't take them long to get it built once they got the land cleared.
  6. Anyone hear any more about this? I see XBoater posted on the ghost town thread there was an accident, but that's all, no details. With the amount of people walking in the loops and the way way way too many golf carts pushing their way through the crowds, I'm surprised there weren't a lot more accidents/injuries. It's hard enough keeping track of your own group, let alone not tripping over little ones dashing in front of you, and also having to watch out for cart drivers and putting up with the noise and exhaust fumes. I can see maybe keeping the carts on the main roads so you can go to
  7. I know I sound like a broken record and someone set in their ways, but I liked the old, old fashioned way of doing things. I remember having to call in reservations, I don't think you could book that far in advance. I remember walking up to the ticket window at the Fort and getting HDDR seats for that night without any problems, and getting the Luau the next night. I remember everyone waiting in line for a ride/attraction. And you didn't complain because everyone was in the same boat. I also remember 25 cent gas, $1.25 a gallon milk, and beef prices you could afford!
  8. The witch won best overall, the river country tower won best fort themed, the blue Cinderella coach was best Disney, Olaf with the pumpkin head and his head on the ground was most unique. I didn't see any announcements for the CM awards.
  9. It wasn't bad in the sun and when the wind would stop blowing.
  10. My I laws came over Saturday afternoon for a visit and we told they had to park At Port Orleans and they would shuttle them back to the Fort..... NOT. They had to take a bus to the MK then a boat to the Fort. My daughter had driven in and said there were plenty of spaces. Plus my in-laws were on my reservation, but they didn't tell the guard that. When I drove them back to PO there were plenty of spaces. They were parking HDDR by the hitch unhitch. This morning they were lining up campers along the road by the hitch unhitch. Guess their sites weren't ready. I saw on another post that a
  11. Friend of mine from Fort Wayne posted on Facebook a couple of hours ago that it was snowing there.
  12. This was fire engines and or ambulances in the loop. We heard the sirens when we were on the backside of 800
  13. Came out of 800, security cars all along Wilderness Trail. Lots of flashing red lights in the 600 loop. Anyone know what's happening?
  14. We didn't get one at check in, plus the judging of the lights last night was till midnight.
  15. As far as security against an attack goes, the restricted airspace doesn't do a thing. I imagine a interceptor would take well over a 1/2 hour or more to get into the area, and that's after it was determined there was a threat (plane already crashed/sprayed). I think the only area that is actively patrolled is DC. This is strictly to keep nuisance planes away, and I agree it's a good think not having to hear or see a banner plane flying overhead every 10 minutes. They would drown out the speedway sounds.
  16. We stayed home last year... didn't go out with daughter and granddaughter, and we have maybe 15-20 kids, and most of them were old enough to shave. Keith, if you miss the fun of little ones trick or treating, are there any churches/organizations in your area doing Trunk or Treats where you could join in on the fun?
  17. What writers faking stories? That can't be, if it's in the paper, on tv, or in the internet it must be true! The Halloween article has been picked up by a lot of other sites, blogs, etc, so it's a good chance it's the writers 15 minutes of fame.
  18. OK, I had tried to post the following, and when I hit post, everything disappeared, the screen went blank, and I couldn't get back on FF for over 10 minutes. We are not alone! So in checking the facts about the permanent ban I came across this article. Forgive me if the formatting gets a little messy... Rules bent to give Disney no-fly zone Request rushed through Congress May 12, 2003|By Sean Mussenden and Henry Pierson Curtis, Tribune Newspapers: Orlando Sentinel. ORLANDO — Walt Disney Co. won a rare prize on the eve of the Iraq war when federal officials ordered the long-term
  19. That's how we do Busch, Seaworld, etc with our AP's. We don't do many rides, we walk around, do shows, and watch my granddaughter do all of the rides. It's not bad snice we got the AP at a fantastic price, so we don't feel like we are getting ripped off. Now if we had to pay a full days admission and either didn't go on the rides because we didn't like them, or the lines were too long and couldn't get on, then I would feel like we didn't get our monies worth. At the MK most rides are family friendly, but I could see some people not going on them for various reasons, so it seems like the
  20. To keep things going, this piece was in the same article before the Disney one.... Trick or treat, get off his wealthy street Q: I live in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the country, but on one of the more 'modest' streets - mostly doctors and lawyers and family business owners. (A few blocks away are billionaires, families with famous last names.) I have noticed that on Halloween, what seems like 75 percent of the trick-or-treaters are clearly not from this neighborhood. Kids arrive in overflowing cars from less fortunate areas. I feel this is inappropriate. Halloween isn't a social
  21. I saw this on the I Love Disney Camping FB page. Not exactly sure what it means since the restriction has been in place since 2003 and there are similar ones over other parks and stadiums. Some of them are to protect "intellectual property" so other companies can't get a birds eye view of what their competitors are doing, and some are to prevent low flying planes from annoying park goers with all of their noise.
