  1. Are folks going to come down for Labor Day again this year? We may want to plan a Grand Gathering at Texas T for that weekend πŸ™‚
  2. Yeah, but at least we can see the progress !!
  3. Cool pictures, did anyone else notice they got a lot of the captions wrong as to location
  4. We spent some time at Wine Bar George a couple of weeks ago. The Moscato Dole Whip drinks are quite tasty πŸ™‚
  5. Well since I didn't have any headphones with me, I really did need a quiet corner. I found a spot way back on one of the walkways near some guestroom patios.
  6. Those chalk artists are really talented. Unfortunately, during our time in Epcot, I had to make a side trip over to the Beach Club and find a quiet corner to listen to a conference call. I was able to join back later.
  7. You know, as much as it should bother me, it really doesn't. We LOVE evening EMH, because we are NOT early risers, but we're having to face the fact that we're no longer night owls either. Several times lately, we've booked late afternoon FP+, then dinner, then have every intention of going back for late EMH, well by the time dinner is over, we're ready for the recliner back at the camper, with the intention of going back out later, then another Fiend pops by, then we're running our mouths, and the drinks at the camper are there, then....... well you see how that goes πŸ™‚
  8. Yay!!! Another Star Wars movie to see when my boys are around for Christmas πŸ™‚ It's kindof a tradition for us to see a "Geek" movie with my boys, and my most decidedly non-Geek hubby doesn't have to come along πŸ™‚
  9. Gosh only 8 years...... it's just getting broke in good...... (says the person with a 12yo camper, and no plans to change any time soon).
  10. and believe it or not, it was toned down some over the years. The first year I heard it, I was at the Fort, and "felt it in here". I've heard from CMs, the first year, they were breaking things they were so powerful. When I saw it in Epcot later that trip, it was ....... just wow......... incredibly powerful.... and Walter Cronkite, what can I say πŸ™‚
  11. Cool! Looks like a couple of Cypress Gardens pictures thrown in there too.
  12. Just a note, if for some reason you did NOT book Magical Express in advance, or for some other reason not eligible (like going home and coming back in the middle of your trip), you can purchase a Mears ticket at the Mears booth on Level 1 that you passed, and you will most likely be put on a Magical Express bus.
  13. For us it's a combination of 3 weeks leave a year, plus lots of comp time, plus willingness to work remotely while on vacation. I probably spend at least 2 hours each morning of my vacation answering emails, and taking care of some of my work. We are not early getting out the door, hubby is still snoozing, so I get up, sit in my recliner under the awning and get it done. The time I spend in the morning does not diminish our vacation in any way.
  14. I remember back in 1998 or 1999 that the F&W festival did run into Thanksgiving week. We didn't know much about it back then, but do remember seeing the booths while we were in Epcot.
  15. It just struck me as odd that you said your "daughters" Cub Scout Pack. I know the Scouts have recently added girls, but that's the first time I've seen someone with a daughter in Cub Scouts. I hope she enjoys it πŸ™‚
  16. It was funny, when we went to breakfast on Sunday, we took the Orange/Purple bus from Outpost to Settlement and the group camping area was full. (Our reservation was at 10, we went through the area on the bus about 9:45). When we took the Orange/Purple bus through there about 11:30 after breakfast, the entire area was completely empty except for Cast Members doing some cleaning. That entire crew packed up and left quickly!!
  17. Also, your rate may actually go down. 2020 rates have not actually yet been released, BUT you can book up to 499 days in advance of your checkout. So to protect themselves due to smaller than expected deposits, ALL times of year until the rates are formally established are charged a deposit of the highest rate from the previous year. Yes, March and Spring Break is one of the most expensive times of year, BUT it may be a bit less than the amount you were given, especially weekday nights. Hope this helps.
  18. Our local news said last night, there was evidence of someone hitting it. There was no rust in the rebar inside the concrete, no evidence of water intrusion on the concrete "break" points, and it all looked sound. They figure someone ran into it overnight, and managed to get away from the area without notifying authorities.
  19. We bring Rick's scooter on planes all the time. We drive it to the gate, they take it to the cargo area, then deliver it back to us at the gate. Having said that, we have never done a "plane change" with it, always direct flights.
  20. Wow, we just took that road on Thursday night, trying it as an alternative to the mess that is Birmingham.
  21. Which would probably be fine, as over the years, I've found the yellow route to have the least internal use.
  22. Pretty cool! I know in the early years, they did not want the Disney characters in Epcot, so I guess the World Showcase characters were their attempt to give Epcot it's own identity.
