  1. x2 - You will not believe how much less the trailer wavers as it is goes down the road. I attribute it to the beefier sidewalls of the Endurance.
  2. I have always used the SHELL station on the corner of Winter Garden & South Apopka. I think it is ~6 miles from the Fort out the back way. But, I am also unhooked and go fill up the night before departure. Plus you can turn right and circle back on East Buena Vista to the Fort. Two right turns in Orlando traffic is a plus in my book!
  3. Very good move on Disney's part, hopefully someone did not have to get injured for this change to happen.
  4. There are several good local Craft beer stores/restaurants in Pigeon Forge, (Three Bears General Store, The Casual Pint, Smoky Mountain Brewery, Craft Center Liquor & Wine, Blue Moose Burgers & Wings, Lil Big Britches Brewing,) just not in Dollywood. Also, based on the advertising, you would think Gatlinburg is the moonshine capital of the world, the same "ol Smokey moonshine" they sell at the Fort is made and bottled just outside of Gatlinburg. So...if you are into commercially altered moonshine, Gatlinburg would be a good stop as well.
  5. Prior to our last trip to the Fort (December), I swapped my China Made Westlakes for the Goodyear Endurance (USA Made). I could not believe the difference, the sidewall stability provided by the GoodYear was very noticeable!. I wished I would have swapped sooner.
  6. Dave, Thanks of the TR. This board is not the same without them. We are looking forward to meeting you guys in a few weeks.
  7. Okay, I gotta ask about the beer flight....Pilsner (yep), Wit (yep, ), Chili??????? (never heard of that one). Do you recall if you liked it?
  8. If you choose Pigeon Forge, there are several FF that consider that in their backyard, so maybe a GG in the area?
  9. Love the trip report, especially all of the food pictures and drink options. TS is definitely on my list now, we have tried in the past, however, both times we attempted they were at capacity. Raglan Road is one of my favorite spots as well. During our October trip we opted for the counter service that is attached to RR, I forget the name. The Fish & Chips were good and as I recall the Guinness was tasty. Inside RR I really like the Charcuterie board offering, IMHO some of the better cheese offerings in all of WDW.
  10. Restaurants that are my favorite: (not in any particular order) Apple Barn in Pigeon Forge - for breakfast is a must Blue Moose in Pigeon Forge - Bar type atmosphere with great selection of wings (all you can eat at lunch) BullFish in Pigeon Forge - Upscale with some very good pasta dishes along with steaks Buddy's BBQ - Pigeon Forge- Very much a fast food feel BBQ place, but a locally owned place out of Knoxville that has some darn good BBQ Calhoun's - Upscale BBQ, must try ribs if you go. Smoky Mtn Brewery has good beer selections and decent food - nice family
  11. Yes, one entire site for just this display, they told us yesterday they hope to have it up and running Sunday night
  12. I did not know about this place. I must try on my next visit. Thanks for the tip.
  13. The Flavors From Fire Pancake was my favorite F&W item. ( I specify F&W item, because my all time favorite anything at Epcot is the Cheese plate from inside the Germany wine cellar. ) The SPAM hash from Hawaii was excellent! (I know, excellent and SPAM don't usually go in the same sentence). Pomegranate beer, although skeptical at first, turned out to be one the best beers of the day, so good in fact, we had seconds, and maybe thirds. Friends of ours had the beer cheese soup and filet from Canada, and they agreed it was excellent this time around. Lobster Roll from
  14. As I sit here drinking my coffee and reading this post, a guy (Adult) goes by on Rollerblades with his small dog on a leash. I wonder if you refer to this as walking the dog, or.....Rollerblading the dog??? Had the dog been a bit bigger, I guess he could have let him pull him around the loop.
  15. Yes it was. I don't recall them staying very long, maybe 3-4 days, which seemed like a lot of work for a short period of time.
  16. Our last trip to the Fort, in the spring, there was a soft sided hot tub setup on one of the sites. First time I had seen one in a campground anywhere.
  17. Eagles Roost handles their late arrivals by leaving an envelope (with your last name on it, and site #) on the front cork board outside the office. Other places we have stayed, use the same or similar method, but always a good idea to call and ask how your particular stopover handles it. One place we stayed had an empty envelope for each site on a board that was numbered by site number, the idea was that if there was an envelope in the slot, the site was open, you then took that envelope and proceeded to your site. Upon departure you placed your money in that envelope and dropped it into
  18. Another Fiend stayed here between Chattanooga and Atlanta, and said they would stay again.... Harvest Moon RV Park1001 Poplar Springs RoadAdairsville, GA 30103Phone (770) 773-7320Fax (770) 773-3605 As far as between ATL and Orlando..... Eagles Roost RV Resort is our go to for stop overs....https://www.eaglesroostresort.com/
  19. Looking for advice on short term storage options for our TT. We have several trips planned that are only 1 -2 months apart and are thinking of leaving the TT in Florida between those trips. Do any Fiends have experience with RV storage places near the Fort? Any that I should stay away from? Any that you would recommend?
  20. Hey DIT, someone posted this copycat recipe online and thought of you... http://chindeep.com/2017/05/11/dollywood-cinnamon-bread-copycat/
  21. Great trip report! Especially the cruise portion, that is something we want to do. Thanks for sharing. BTW: I see you are a fellow Grand Design owner.
  22. During our last trip, they had exactly this at Disney Springs. We watched all resort terminals get a bus, and there was CM standing by directing pedestrian traffic, if they had questions about bus terminal locations. She came over and asked how long we had been there, and got on the radio and a bus that was signed as WL change to The Fort and pulled in to pick us and 10 others up. I will mention this was the second WL bus in as little as 5 minutes, and there was no one at the WL stop.
