  1. I hope they come in the next week or so. Then I can be sporting it around the Fort for the 4th of July. That gives them 6 more weeks to get it to me.
  2. I know for a fact that for this 4th of July weekend, 21 days will show available but anything less is not Starting on July 1st.
  3. Will this project make more sense when tied to the changes at the race track?
  4. Because they don't want it to last for years. They want you to buy a new one every 6 months to a year.
  5. If you do use the Cat scale, then remember to tell them that the second time is a "Re-Weigh" and it will be cheaper. They will need the ticket number from the first weigh. I would not worry too much about each axle. If you do it the way you describe, the front axle will also have the tongue weight. Weigh it the second time and the difference between the truck weights will be the tongue weight. To get the axles you would have to weigh a third time.
  6. I know this will sound like a certain fan of a red team, but my Big Green Egg does that too. Along with grilling the best steaks ever, and smoking the best pork ever. It's like three different devices in one. Infomercial over.....you can now return to your regularly scheduled postings.
  7. I'll tell you like I was told directions in Dublin, Ireland....."I know how to get there, but I can't tell you, I would have to show you." It all depends on which way you are arriving from. I prefer the Western Way to Buena Vista Drive to World Drive to the main Parking booth and follow the red line to go right to the Fort.
  8. Some time in the near future, all toll systems will work everywhere, coast to coast, as mandated by the federal government. I can't find a link now but the commitment date is October 2016.
  9. Sorry for the delay in an update. Life happens. I promise to get this report back going before this week is over.
  10. Possum on the half shell!!! Wash with lemon juice, season well, put on the grill shell down, cook for 2.5 hours at 375 degrees. Louisiana has a recipe for everything.
  11. No boards needed if you rotate the tires at least once a month........that implies going camping...rolling the tires down the road.....
  12. We love What-A-Burger. How was the parking there? I've seen the sign, but not knowing the parking situation, have never tried to stop. In on this trip report.
  13. It was chilly but it gave my son something to remember for ever. V&A's is an expensive dinner, but the meal and the service is over the top. It is not an every trip kind of place for us but it is a planned and looked forward to dinner, say once every 4 or 5 years. Thanks on the congratulations, as this November will make 20 years. We are hoping to attend the Food and Wine Festival, just the two of us, to celebrate. It just so happens that this year marks the 20th year of the Food and Wine Festival. Makes for good souvenirs. It is very hard to justify a meal like this. But we don't
  14. I am in a rural area and land here is from $5k an acre to $15K an acre depending on how many acres and whether it is all dry or swampy. I have 67 acres, of which about 18 is high and dry to build on. My property was an inheritance and when it was bought, cost $500 per acre. The majority of the property is horse and cow pasture along with a 4 acre pond.
  15. I keep ours in a custom built three stall garage. Here is a construction picture: That was our last Fiver. It was stored in this garage the whole time we had it while not in use. When I traded it in on the new toy hauler in November, at 7 years old, the dealer asked me when I had the roof replaced and I replied "Never, that is the original roof." He stated it looked brand new. That is what keeping it protected will do. The garage was built to match the house and as it always goes, it was not built large enough. I wish it was 5 feet deeper and 10 feet wider.
  16. When I left off, I was headed back to get ready for supper. This is the menu for the night. Here is my lovely date. This is a combination 39th birthday and Valentines dinner. We started off with this dish. A little back story about this dish. When V&A called to confirm our reservation a week prior to the date, Shardi asked if a particular dish would be on the menu, a lobster jar something, and the person calling stated that they were no longer serving that dish, but they would make note of it and the chef may serve it to us as a special request. Well here it is: That was a f
  17. Didn't have time even though it was across the street.
  18. I have two tow vehicles that I use, one is a 2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty with the high capacity trailer towing package. Not sure what makes it so different than a standard F-350 other than the wide track front axle and 4.30 gears. The other tow vehicle is a 378 Peterbilt with a Schwalbe Cowboy conversion. Personally I think you will be just fine with your Ram.
  19. Thanks for wasting that much of your time. I am all over the place with my music selections. First song is "Lips of an Angel" by Hinder, Second was "Run through the Jungle" by CCR, and finished up with "Flirting with Disaster" by Molly Hatchet which I felt fit the moment of dodging the truck on the other side while backing into the site.
  20. I have not shown any pictures of the Toy Hauler but I will work on that. I had certain requirements for one and did a ton of research. Grand Design caught my attention and I knew that was the manufacturer I wanted. Then it needed to fit inside my shop. I was all set to buy the 355TH in March of last year but then heard about the new 380TH model and decided to wait to see if it would fit in the shop. Well then everything upended at work and I quit my job, returning to the family owned business. By the time things had settled out with that, I found that the 380TH was too long to fit in the shop
  21. So, Shardi and dear daughter decide it is too chilly to ride Splash Mountain and would rather go back to the campground. This excited our son because then the two of us could ride twice. Oh Joy!!??.. So we took Shardi and DD's magic bands and headed for Splash Mountain while they left. When we got there, the standby wait showed 20 minutes and we had 30 minutes until our FP time, so in the line we go. This was going to be a three ride day on Splash Mountain. Did I mention that the sun was beginning to set and the temps were beginning to drop? Well we make it the loading area and dear son tells
  22. Yes, in November I upgraded our Bristol Bay fifth wheel to a Grand design's Momentum Toy Hauler. It was a major upgrade in luxury and allows me to haul the golf cart when my Father-In-Law is using the Peterbilt. This was our first long trip with it. We spent a weekend at Cajun Palms in Henderson to test everything out before heading to Disney. It would be even better if we had three days off instead of two. Last year we were stopped and asked if there was an LSU convention at Disney because there were so many people wearing LSU clothing.
  23. Day two... Back to the Magic Kingdom. With all those dining plan credits, Shardi booked breakfast with the hunerd acre woods crew at the Crystal Palace. This has become a tradition on almost every trip. I am going to show the pictures of our little man from this trip followed by some from a trip in 2010. He is growing up so fast. And finally The Golden Bear himself. In the past, Shardi had bought our daughter a book of all the animated characters of Disney and had the characters sign their page in the book. It is better than just an autograph book. So she bought a new o
  24. The Peterbilt is a family truck with my Father-In-Law getting first dibs on the use of. He had a horse show at the Dixie Nationals so I was regulated to using my truck, a 2015 F-350 with the high capacity towing package. It is a lot easier parking at the Fort with the Ford, but I was wishing I was in the Pete when I had to stop every 3 hours for fuel. With the bad winds I was only getting 8 MPG with the Ford. another page one reader. welcome aboard. Yes the drive in was very nice, almost zero traffic. It was strange because we are used to coming in on busy days. There is a nice bonus
  25. Congrats to all the above for page one honors. We watched from outside on the south veranda. Our table was right in front of the door to the veranda.
