  1. What I was implying was Wilderness lodge has the highest income per acre other than the Grand Floridian, and I can't understand how people pay the GF prices.
  2. We were caught off guard on the 4th fireworks. We had been told they could not fire them off until there was no lightening within 30 miles for 30 minutes. We could still hear the boom of lightening just 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Therefore we missed the fireworks on the 4th. Everyone was disappointed.
  3. You forgot Wilderness Lodge...OH the horror.....
  4. Mickey was ahead of his time.... a Toy Hauler for an RV. And I want one of those levers that pulls in the mat, the chairs, and all the other stuff when you're ready to pull out.
  5. Some how, and I'm not sure how, but we were riding the ASTRO Orbiter as the fireworks were going off on the third.
  6. What happens is the edge of the tape on a role attaches to the edge of the layer below and it becomes impossible to unroll it to use.
  7. Could this survey been created by one of the pink slipped employees that was training their foreign visa replacement?
  8. On the Peterbilt I use two sets of ramps bought from tractor supply. They are 8 foot long and arched. I set the first ramps on the side of the flat bed and set the second set of ramps 1/3rd of the way from the top of the first set. I tie both sets of ramps to the truck so they can't kick out. The only issues I have had is loading in the rain and the crowd it draws watching me unload. For the rain I found I just need to lay a couple of towels on the ramps and it goes right up without spinning a tire. As for the crowd I just smile.
  9. And a big 5th wheel toy hauler with 3 15K btu ac's and two bathrooms uses less utilities? It is not about the utility cost.
  10. So....Does a golf cart count as one of the vehicles?
  11. One thing was very Obvious during our trip for the 4th of July. There were very few ECV's around anywhere. I guess the people that abuse them do not like the heat.
  12. I had a Westlake tire blow out on me last week on my way home from the Fort. I have a TST 507 tire monitor. I was driving 63 mph, tire pressures and temps were the same on all four tires but one decided to spread itself all over the interstate. Less than 4 thousand miles since I picked it up from the dealer. I now have 4 Michelin tires.
  13. Since our Toy Hauler has a built in Onan generator, I will be installing the Onan EC30-W remote control with emergency temperature setting. It cost about $800 but if the shore power goes out and the temp gets to the set point it will fire up the generator and run until the temp gets back down to that set temp. I just have to buy tires before I can buy this. That is it's own story.
  14. From Bulletin of the American College of Surgeons: "In World War II, American and British servicemen were issued these inflatable life preservers. When the front air pockets of the life vest inflated, it gave the appearance of a buxom woman, leading the troops to give it the affectionate nickname the “Mae West” in honor of the well-endowed actress of the time. Today, the military uses a form of this life jacket, and the basic model life vest carried on airplanes is based on this design.† Thus I have always heard that PFD's like this image have been referred to as a "Mae West"
  15. Personal Flotation Device....also called a "Life Jacket" in some locals.
  16. I think you are right. It looks like a Mae West type PFD with a strap down the back was left on this child too long. If it was the sunscreen, then there would be burns all over the shoulders.
  17. I met him this trip. He is a very nice man that is retired Navy. He was staying in a cabin.
  18. Could be a foot control just like a trolling motor for a boat. One foot and you control direction and speed while standing up.
  19. I guess my family travels great. It is 830 miles from our driveway to the Fort and it takes us 14 and a half hours. We always break it up going down as we usually leave on the afternoon before check in when the children let out of school. We then drive for 8 hours and stop over at a rest area. Coming home we drive it all in one day, leaving at 8am Fort time and pulling in the drive around 11:30 home time.
  20. Wow Nacole....we all need your tow vehicle.....50 MPG!!!!! sorry for being such a smart a&%, but I couldn't let it slide!
  21. Just take the mileage door step to door step and divide by 53 and that should get you very close then add 30 minutes for every 5 hours. You may travel faster and beat that time, but then that is just a bonus.
  22. I wonder if Lazy Days is upgrading their trailer since it is 5 years old now.
  23. After I said that I may be nuts, I remembered that I am a member here and that just proves that I am......Nuts.
