I swear I remember the boat going through a tunnel and the tunnel spun around. It was to simulate the storm. Maybe I am just nuts...

That was my first trip to Disney World. My Future Father-in-Law invited me to go with them for Christmas and we stayed at the Fort. I cannot remember the loop and we cannot find any pictures of the camp site. There are two things I remember. The Tower of Terror only made one drop and it was over and in Maelstrom, there was a tunnel that spun while the boat passed through it. My next trip to Disney World wasn't until 2003 and we stayed in the Wilderness Lodge. The MOST UNCOMFORTABLE bed I have ever tried to sleep on. It was miserable. That was our very first family trip.

Preferred Route to FW
Specularius replied to woodardfamily's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
The issue with that route is the hard right turn to get into the Fort guard shack. It is close to a 180 degree turn. I prefer to go through the MK booths just for the visual. -
My Father-in-Law gave me these two pictures he found while rummaging through his desk. These were from the week before Christmas, 1994. Even though I was there, I do not recall a train set in front of the Great Movie Ride around a Christmas Tree. Anyone else remember this? Since the BAH is gone, will this setup make a re-appearance this year for Christmas?

Wrong handle for a felling saw. And it hasn't been pulled through a log in at least 50 years from the looks of the rust on the blade. -

I'm late to catching up on this report. Glad you got to see some of the world. A few short thoughts....Great call on NOT DRIVING IN DUBLIN!!!! I did, getting straight off the plane...not a good idea. Black pudding....it is made with pigs blood, that is why it is black. Molly Malone....was the "Madame" of Dublin, a lady of the night. It is a running joke in Dublin that the tourist get excited over her statue. I wish you would have had the time to see inside the church you took pictures of and "Dublinia" was worth the price of admission. -

Golf Cart Advice
Specularius replied to FEARtheEERS's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
$2000 will be tough. Most of the retired fleet cars around me sell for $2500 and have questionable batteries. For $2000 you should expect to have to buy new batteries that will cost $600-$800. I would look for a Club Car. -

When you get to New Mexico, I would recommend a stop in Santa Fe to see Loretto Chapel and a visit to Taos Pueblo. Loretto Chapel has a famous stair case that is an engineering marvel. -

For Lafayette, LA there are two great places to stay. Cajun Palms and Poche's Fish Camp. On the route map you then show going from Lafayette to Natchez. The route you have planned is not a good route to be pulling an RV on. In Natchez, the best place to stay is Riverview RV park on the Louisiana side at Vidalia. Like Dave stated, Lafayette is all about the food. I would also recommend a visit to Vermillionville Historic Village to see how the Cajuns lived. And try the Boudin... For New Orleans, I would recommend Bayou Segnette State Park. -

It doesn't matter truly means "It doesn't matter"! When asked where we would like to eat......It doesn't matter! We eat anything with four legs but a table...Women are the picky eaters! -
