We stayed at Casey Jones last year and it is a short drive to the fort from there. The only thing I didn't like was the grassy area for the overnighters, there were a LOT of ant hills there and if it had been raining it could have made things interesting when leaving in the morning. This was our site last year:

I wonder if they will use the recently found\discovered mine cars for a "copper mine" theme? -

We experienced it for the first time last year (just to check it off our list) and had a good time. But, with a now 4 year old and 5 year old that have a hard time staying up that late and being decent little people the following day there is no way will we do it for a while. Add the prices on top of that and any inclination I had of doing it again now is gone. Don't get me wrong, we had a good time last year and both girls had a blast. But, last trip we only had to pay for 1 kiddo so the price was a little easier to swallow considering we left after the Boo To You parade. -

Holy cow! The return of TCD AND DIT... It's good to be a fiend. TCD - glad to hear all is well with you and your fam. Also glad to see your content on here again. -
I wonder if Disney will increase the amount of tickets they sell and allow more people in? Maybe keep adding bodies until people start to complain and then they will know about how many tickets to sell.

Awesome, thanks for the info, Carol! Not sure if we can make it that far on the first day of driving, but we are gonna try. Hope you have a good trip over in SC. -

We are thinking about using this as an overnight on our way home from the Fort in October. Did you see any issues with larger rv's there? -
So how many...

I think we have enough bed area for 10 or 11 bodies, but no way in hades would I attempt that. The most we have had is 4 "adults" and 3 kids and that was PLENTY cramped for us. -
Your favorite souvenir.

I have 2 that stick out and both were given to me during our trip in 2014. 1. I was lucky enough to get spiked by a bus driver and that was pretty cool. 2. The other is a ring one of the boat captains gave my oldest daughter. It was on the first day and the first boat ride during our fist family visit to Disney and the boat captain called my daughter up. He gave a story that Cinderella saw her get on the boat and asked him to give her this ring. She still talks about that ring the Cinderella gave her and happy she is when she wears it. -
are there no fire escapes in your bunk house? We have once in the bunk house that is on the lowest bunk so the fall would not be that bad....that's assuming you need to get out that window. Our slide has one in the same spot yours is in but it is the entire window, I feel a little better with a larger opening trying to swing myself out if needed. The one I don't want to do is the one from the front bedroom as it is higher than I'd like to tumble, but in emergency you do what you have to do. Thanks for posting these, it's a good reminder to folks that this is something that needs to be pra
