  1. Site 508. There Is a large wooded area behind the site and a good distance to the 400 loop. The site is HUGE. It is about 70 feet long. We had the Outback on it, the truck in front and enough room for another trailer in front of that.
  2. I noticed in the security areas at the monorails in the hotels that children were allowed to bypass the metal detector. Makes sense, since i have never seen terrorists use kids to carry weapons.
  3. I put General Grabber AT2's on my f150 in the spring and they are going well. I will never understand why 1/2 ton pickups come with family car tires except they give a smoother, quieter ride for the soccer moms.
  4. I got the cap when we we there last month. They also have a couple new pins.
  5. It is, indeed, an interesting area. I spent quite a bit of time in a tent on the missile range near ground zero.
  6. I don't know, maybe she is getting second thoughts. I talked to her this morning at breakfast and she said it will be within the next 3 years, but she hasn't decided yet when and when she decides the date, she will announce it, but she said it needs to come from her.
  7. We had lunch today with Andy at Olivias at Old Key West. We talked about Sue, we shed a few tears, we had a few laughs. It was a good day.
  8. Part of our trips to the 3000 loop include visiting our friends Andy and Sue who moved down here some 15 years ago. Both have worked for Disney since then, although Andy more so,than Sue. Sadly, today Sue passed away. Regrettably, it was before we had a chance to see her. I suppose it is good that we are here to offer Andy some support, but it indeed a sad day at the Outback.
  9. At this point in the afternoon, I am trying to figure out the plural of Kungaloosh. Kungaleesh? Kungalooshes? I have now had two, anyway"
  10. Pool is open 24/7. As always, suits are optional. Todays critter count, which covers the 4 am potty walk with Murphy as well as my bike ride, is as follows: 1 very large armadillo 2 bunnies 10 deer 2 raccoon 2 turkey
  11. And for those Ken fans out there, he is still at Trails End and will be celebrating 41 years with Disney soon.
  12. I am in my usual assigned site on the 3000 loop. Cranked up the Magic Bullet yesterday and made a Kungaloosh for myself, and a Pina Colada for FWGirl. Loop did well thru Irma, no damage. Beer line replacement is about half complete, should be done for the weekend. Weather is hot and humid with thunderstorms in forecast, but hey, it's Florida, what do you expect?
  13. For some reason I am reminded of an incident that happened to me in college. It was a Friday night and I called the gym on campus to see what their hours were. The reply was "Its Friday night, man. You're supposed to go out, not work out."
  14. Kudos to Bobby and his clipboard carrying minions for coming up with a way to not only separate guests from their money, but also make them forget they are in a half day park missing most of it's attractions with scenic construction walls to gaze at.
  15. Of course the remake will star Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg.
  16. My iPad is using 9.3.5 and when I check for updates it says it is up to date.
  17. Made it. Thanks. Since the beer lines are down, I will have a small but quality supply of beer (St Pauli Girl and Leinenkugels Summer Shandy) along with Kungaloosh and frozen pina coladas at the Outback. Stop by for an adult beverage.
  18. I am planning a trip to assess the damage Irma did to the 3000 loop. Beer lines are already scheduled for replacement, so mainly I will be focusing on the massage parlor. I can't hook up the Outback, however, until I hit at least 650 likes. So it's all up to you!
  19. The Fort is built on a reclaimed cypress swamp. There is water everywhere. Most likely hurricane Irma took care of a good bit of the vegetation which offered privacy. Your best bet may be the 3000 loop.
  20. I fill my tires with helium. My trailer weight decreases by 1%, allowing me to buy more Disney crap when I am on vacation.
  21. Well Wade, I do loves me some podcasts, especially Disney and camping related, so yours is the best of both worlds. I have subscribed and am downloading your first two episodes, so hopefully I will get around to listening to them while I prep the camper for our upcoming trip.
  22. When Sandy hit in 2012, we were without power for 7 days along with 3 of our neighbors. Everybody else in the neighborhood was served by a different transformer and had power within an hour of it going out. Every time I called the freaking power company, some bubble headed idiot would cheerfully say "I have great news for you! Your power is on!" I finally told her that was a pantload of crap since I was sitting in the dark talking to her. I told her I was going to get my ladder and climb the pole and throw the switch to the fuse myself if she didn't get somebody out to turn on the power.
  23. When I first pitched the idea of the 3000 loop to Bobby over beer and wings, he suggested using Discovery Island. Too much beer, Bobby. Transporting all those RV's over to the island would be a logistical nightmare. I don't even want to consider the litigation from all those accidental drownings after one of the beer pong parties that are a weekly event.
