  1. In response to the thefts for recycling, local recycling places aound here now require (and make copies) photo ID and will only issue checks, no cash. Not sure how much it really helps, but it may make it easier to track down thieves in big cases.
  2. So sorry this happend to you. It is sad that stuff needs to be locked up, but seems that's the way it is.
  3. Or when we adopted our daughters from Korea and Vietnam (both of them were 3 months old): "How will you teach them english?" "Does she cry in Korean/Vietnamese?" Not sure I need to try to work with the public much anymore!
  4. I tend to use "Dipstick!", loudly. Probably too much. My DW rolls her eyes, and DD (16) still cracks up when I do that.
  5. Must not click and look more....(I love those old campers and would love to try this one, but DW will kill me if I take on another project!)
  6. Kentucky Hot Browns, horses, bourbon, bluegrass...I'm OK with that! :clint:
  7. You are not the only one. And kudos (from a husband) for you thinking of this. As the designated driver in our family, I would feel good that the thought is there, but am OK with the drive. As long as my CDs are being played, and not the kids, and my snacks and diet pepsi keeps coming, I would rather drive. It is worth it to have all the advantages of the camper and the fort. Just my $0.02!
  8. :wave1: Welcome! And now sit back and prepare for information! We have never stayed in the cabins, but many here have and will be along soon, I'm sure. We use our little camper trailer, and love the Fort. We don't have or rent a golf cart, but it would be a neat thing to have. Looping is more work when walking! The buses etc are great, just remember you are on vacation, and camping. Slow down and don't stress!
  9. sorry. On re-reading I had missed that you already tried replacing the unit! :well-duh-smiley: I have seen them set off by high huidity, dust in the air, steam from the shower, or by chemicals in the air (amonia, cleaning stuff, etc).
  10. Two thoughts: I have experienced one smoke detector that just went bad. I dont know what failed, but it would not stop beeping and it's replacement worked fine. They are cheap enough I just replaced it. Maybe someone smarter than I am can explain what could go wrong with them besides the battery. Second, are you certain it is the "smoke" detector? My little camper has an LP gas detector that looks a little like a smoke detector and sounds like one when the main camper battery gets low. You probably are all over that, and I may be the only one in the world who mixed up those two items, b
  11. As the old woodsman Rancid Crabtree often said: "Ain't nothin ever jist right to do what you want, so you jist well go ahead on and do it anyway." -Rancid Crabtree
  12. :rofl3: Except that my lab Coda would have it gone in less than a minute!
