I have only ever tried to get into the Fort once when we weren't staying, we weren't even staying on property just passing through. I told them we wanted to go to the trading post and security checked an ID and told us to park in overflow and take a bus.
The end of September 2015 I was staying at the Fort and went to the beach club to wonder around (something we do often) and was told that they would let me park that time but from then till after Christmas the parking would be restricted to registered guests and those holding dining reservations at the resort. I didn't go back to see if this was true or not.
I would think unless it is a major holiday there shouldn't be a problem parking at the Fort and biking.

I just recently joined here, after lurking in the shadows for about 9 months, and I can tell you it has been a very wise decision on my part.
 
I didn't know the history, nor that it even happened, but just by being a forum lurker, I could tell that "voldy" is pretty desolate, making my decision to join here pretty easy. In fact, it wasn't even a "this one or that one" choice, I felt that I could contribute to this forum, and that the members here would embrace and expand on whatever content I added, making it a no brainer.
 
This is the only online forum I belong to, and actively participate in.  With our busy lives these days, it is very easy to let something like a forum take a backseat to other events in your life, but this one will keep you coming back for more. That says a lot about the admins and the members here.

I've only camped at The Fort 3 times and from what I saw, the vast majority of the abusers to golf carts and the rules were people who rented them. I'm not saying its everyone who rents a cart, just that most of the rule breakers were rentals. Regulars like us who rent, or ones who own their own cart always abide by the written and unwritten rules when it comes to golf cart etiquette at The Fort, at least from what I've witnessed.
 
Problem is, people who don't have access to carts often will loose their minds on them. Kids and adults a like. How many times have you been to a golf course and have seen a group of grown men doing donuts or something stupid as they ride around the course? Or at other campgrounds? And with kids...well, they're going to be kids. I would hate to see The Fort turn away personally owned golf carts, because I would venture to say that the vast majority of us are responsible when it comes to operating it. But just like with anything else, a couple sour apples will ruin the whole bunch.

FRP = For Receiving Pee?  

I have my theories on what politically-correct Disney will do with the ocean and oil rig scene in this day and age.  I think they turn it into the Frozen fjord from the end of the movie, where Anna saves Elsa, only they will also leave the oil rigs circling the room.  Olaf will say "Love will thaw a frozen heart!", and Elsa will say "Of course!  Love thaws.....just like the carbon emissions given off by our use of fossil fuels is thawing our polar ice caps!"  Then to wrap it all up and provide a tie in to Norway's famous Nobel Peace Prizes, you'll exit through the theater which will now be showing Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth".

This might be old news but was just on the Disney website and saw this. 20% off campsites most nights for Florida residents till September 27th if booked before September 24th. I looked to see if anything would come up and it showed 68.00 for a premium site for the weekend of the 5th. Just a heads up for any Florida people who may want to make a quick trip in September. Unfortunately it's not showing any availability for labor day weekend.

Not sure if there is any Florida east coast anglers on here, but we just wrapped up our 8 day Red Snapper season. During that time I caught a personal best Gag Grouper, 38 lbs

I haven't fished The Fort yet, but I would agree with everyone else. Use a No. 2 or 4 or 6 J hook, take a pair of pliers and pinch down the barb as The Fort is strictly catch and release, and this will assist in the removal of the hook. You can find these hooks at any Wal-Mart that has a sporting goods section. They will generally be the size of the last digit of your thumb or smaller.

I would say I'm a Carol-lite. New to the forum, so you guys don't know me well.
Here's the rundown. AP holder since 2007, make at least 2 trips per time home to WDW (I have off work for 3 weeks at a time). 1 of those, per time home, is a 4 park, open-close day, in the summer it's sometimes 9a-1a, often go to EPCOT just for lunch, if I'm "in the area". Got into camping in late 2011, have camped at FW twice with the next 3 trips planned, and am going to DL, camping at FW and doing all of WDW's parks in the next 3 weeks I'm off work (Aug 21-Sept 11)
