This week both monorails resort and express were shut down from 11:30-7:00. One of the boat captains (not that I am believing him) states that they had to pick sometime to replace some conduit that is 40 years old and are also prepping some senors for the fully automated monorails coming later this year. Not sure f this is true or not. 1 hour and 5 minutes yesterday waiting for a MK boat at the fort. Eventually a small green/red flag boat came and we were the last ones before they cut off the rest of the line

I'm waiting for two things at Epcot to hopefully happen in the future:
* a night time parade so the magic kingdom is not the only park to hang out at after 9pm
* a upgrade to Sorin down the road so it's like star tours and it's a different flight every time you ride
I know that's asking for a lot since they will never happen. Imagine sorin in 3D?

Well we finally found the writers stop and I will have to agree it's probably DHS best kept secret. It was a nice place to stop and enjoy a drink and especially a carrot cake cookie. This was our first time having one and it rocked. It will defiantly be on all our stops to DHS

So now that we will officially activate our annual passes next weekend, the joy of park hopping and getting fast passes at different parks is now shot out the window since we will only be allowed 3 per day per person and not 3 per park. Bad, bad, bad

I have to say, it's pretty amazing the depths some of you go to provide awesome, detailed information. I don't know what all of you do for careers but I'll have to say there are some good CAD engineers, private investigators, computer gurus and whatever other trade to make this such an awesome thread. I will agree for the most part about the locals on the weekends. I consider myself a local since we live in Tampa but me and my family were raised with respect which the majority of the world ignores nowadays. We have noticed there are more fort rangers on duty but what is a older heavy set woman going to do chasing some unrulely kids....nothing. We miss the days before our kids were in school because we would try to check in on Sunday morning then check out the following Saturday. We have been here since Tuesday and I have to laugh at a the "Duck commander" wannabes. I like camo as much as the next guy but people driving these carts with no mufflers, doing donuts on the beach during the EWP and just being plain rude. I am definately writing a letter this time to Disney about this past week. Many of you know I am more negative than positive but my bark is worse than my bite...lol. All these shenanigans need to be monitored more. You can't change people's attitude but they could enforce rules at least. With the kids in school now, we need to follow school and holiday schedules which means if we are fort bound, it will be during these hectic times

We are here now and this year we have run into much more less desirable individuals than in the past. People have been much more rude and shady but I guess you always see this kind more at holidays and peak times. We never bring the charger to the marina since I heard that's just asking for it to be stolen

I thought all the hotels provided towels at the pools?

Book a year in advance to secure type of site and length of stay for the holidays. You can always cancel down the road. Booking a site at Ft Wilderness this time of year and getting what you want is like booking a holiday party for 100 people in December and expecting plenty good choices and options...lol

Any new news on what's in the calliope area? I'm waiting to see a club car utility cart in there one day and when you press the button you will hear the sound of a crapy gas golf cart. Every visit is a surprise in that area

hey,  Maybe the next chapter in the TCD life story will be Mrs. TCD bumpping her head and telling you she misses camping at the fort and wants to plan as many trips as you both can.  She continues to buy only Disney fashions and request a GAG every other weekend.  She gives you the ok to buy a new RV that is cozy for two and hence we see more trip reports each month...just a thought...lol

I know I sound negative more than positive at times but this lady is rediculious. It truly makes us all look like trailer trash. There should be a limit to how much JUNK can be on your site. I'm sorry but in my opinion this is a disgrace to the fort. If you want to stay here for a long period of time that's fine, but respect the ones around you. Go to an encore resort if you want to decorate with crappy lattes fence and sheds.

I spoke with Doug at the fort a few weeks back and he confirmed they were shipped with the lights by accident and that was the only shipment of carts that will coming with the lights. He said they will be disconnecting the lights on the current ones

I still have the identical, same color, 2 man pup tent from 1979 sitting in my garage on a shelf. It was my first tent I got for my 8th birthday. There were many camping trips in my backyard in that tent and many wet mornings since the dew would penetrate without a rain fly. I can't bare to part with it everytime we have a garage sale

How come everytime a sports subject comes up about a Tampa Bay team, we have to hear sh*# from the Boston peanut gallery. Let me sum up a conversation that a Bostonian would have with anyone from Tampa....."hey you wanna be sports fan, the Rays suck, The lightning suck and o yeah, the Bucs suck. Keep hockey to the snowbelt, keep baseball to spring training and just get rid of football...why? Because Boston is the best...period. Here's the ticket, get a nice class C and find a decent light-weight travel trailer to pull behind. Two RV's, two kitchen's, Two baths, One engine to upkeep, 4 people happy, cost effective!

Hey here's a good one killing 3 birds with one stone. Have someone kidnap Duffy the Disney Bear ( I hate this addition to the characters as most do) tie him to King Triton in the EWP and hold him for ransome to do an exchange for Melvin the Moose. Duffy is no longer, The EWP lives on but without the king and we all get Melvin back. Sounds like a win win

Why do they do this just on the holiday weekends? I know there will be more people there on a holiday and of course more freeloaders, but we need this all the time. Freeloaders and local abusers are just that. Fort Fiends who want to visit friends will always find a way around this and get in which is fine. It's the people that abuse the fort is the ones we should keep out. If the crappy Fort Managment thought of this on a daily basis, we could enjoy the pool more, the picnic shelter more and have less people who just don't belong. The $7.35 an hour traffic people at the intersections kill me though. I suppose Halloween night would be an exception with all the traffic. You couldn't catch me dead there on th 10/31, but that's my opinion. Not to keep riding a dead horse but we pay big bucks for a cement pad and a rusty grill. We should at least get the decency daily of the secuirty keeping abusers out. Please don't get snarky Lou....lol
