  1. I'm in. I've used touring plans on my last two trips and have liked it. Looking forward to hearing how it worked out for you.
  2. I nearly didn't comment on this given others have said pretty much what I was going to, but that seems to be part of the issue. Like a lot of others I started lurking here, reading trip reports to work out what FW was like and what I should bring with me etc. I probably started posting after the number of them had dropped off. I understand the time it takes to post them and the extra effort required to remember to take pictures so you can share something on here. Not overly great at that, I tend to get caught up. It seemed like one of your last ones was an attempt to restart interest
  3. Glad to hear people got through this ok. We have a few trees down around here in Bradenton, lost power but only for about 10 minutes . My lania screen needs to be replaced as does the blinds out there and there was a small amount of water in my father in laws garage, but both houses ok otherwise.
  4. Sounds good, we have a cabin booked at the fort for thanks giving, but weren't going to do the parks. Now decided to do one day at Epcot and check this out.
  5. I can see I75 from behind my father in laws condo, and you can see the traffic practically at a stand still going north. Making sure we avoid it today.
  6. Schools closed in Manatee county on Friday but open tomorrow, between this, labor day and early release today the kids are happy this week. Typically school closures like this are because the schools are potentially used as shelters for people eventuated from else where.
  7. As much as this is very very real and dangerous, there is an element of human nature that comes into play here, when someone says be prepared people panic. People honking horns at gas stations isn't going to do any good. We're as supplied as we're going to get at this point. Walmart looks like old mother Hubbard's cupboard, camping supplies are picked bare. Every where is out of propane. I've got friends who waited inline for 45 minutes for sandbags and have just now gone home as they have ran out of sand bags at at least two of the locations distributing them here. Looking at curr
  8. Now have gas in both cars, gas station quieter this morning than last night.
  9. Got gas last night, that was an experience. I have a few 5 gallon jugs of water in. Will try and get more supplies and propane today.
  10. I've watched both decedents films with my daughter and they were ok by the current standards of the Disney Channel, but to dedicate an entire park to it, I can't really see it happening. Two straight to TV teen movies aren't going to have the appeal that Star Wars has.
  11. This may help, this is site 1504 you can see the two big RVs on 1600 directly behind.
  12. Not surprised, although as I understand it Minnie vans won't be able to bypass bag check like this did.
  13. Publix sells it, at least they do in Bradenton but that may be due to a large number of transplants from the north. My father in law is of Polish decent. He's originally from Fall river before retiring down here, and has mentioned a number of kielbasa shops in the area.
  14. If you link your Movies anywhere account with Amazon, they show up your your Amazon video account as well. Useful for my fire tv stick. When I did it they were offering a purchase of Monsters Inc free if you linked an account. Doesn't make any difference if it's a digital only copy or a hard copy, or that matter whether it's an amazon or a disney purchase. This was especily useful when I moved and hadn't unpacked my DVDs.
  15. Are there any advantages to having both TIW and annual passes? When I last looked TIW got a bigger discount but that doesn't seem to be the case now. I just have TIW, looking at what we spend in food made it worth it. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  16. If this happens it would probably push me to getting all of the family Awesomer passes.
  17. They launched the Disney life steaming service in the UK shortly before I left, so I didn't really look at it. I do have some friends who were talking about it but don't know if they tried it. I don't think they dropped Disney movies from the netflix UK region though. There may have been less disney movies on the UK side to begin with, so may have been more of a market for it over there. Plus the Disney Movies Anywhere service doesn't exist in the UK. I would presume the Disney streaming app will be available on roku/firetv/xbox etc. The movies anywhere app already is.
  18. My wife breifly considered applying for this as a way of working around other commitments, but reading over the statements about flexibility put her off. I work from home myself at the moment. I was working as a near shore consultant, we were a team in an office a few hours away from the customer site. I had to move over here for personal reasons. Was ready to hand in my notice, and my boss asked what he could do to make me stay. I flippantly replied let me work remotely. I few negoatiobs later and it happened. It does get interesting when you are working across time zones including
  19. Haven't taken the plunge to get APs yet, keep doing the maths and it's not worth it for me. I think one of the issues for me is that we tend to do about a third of our Disney trips with friends from overseas. This typically means going during gold and silver black out dates. We would need platium passes and even with the resident discounts it's working out cheaper with a couple of three day tickets at the resident rate and the one trip at the full rate. I do wish I could justify passes though for the reasons people have stated. I do have tables in Wonderland though so get some dinnin
  20. Did fairly well on the prime sales, tent didn't meet my needs. However I did get a Road trip XLE for $99, plus I had $20 in Amazon points to use. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  21. A few notes on the last day, he's still in Lake Wales but not doing another weekend there. Coffee and breakfast much the same as last week. Got more photos in my walk around the lake. Breakfast Rather than leaving mid day my wife drove straight to the hospital and I took the kids on the bus. Interesting to note that the bus doesn't run between 12 and 4 so no comming back for naps. Got in slightly earlier than last time thanks to the not having to park. Did the same bits at guest services, despite the first 'model citizen' I spoke to being confused by L
  22. I've got more! This was meant to be it, my wife declared on the way home last week we're not driving that way until at least October.(Maybe a day for brick or treat since we have passes). At that point we were told that my father in law was being transferred to skilled nursing by Monday. We get a call Sunday night saying that wasn't happening as they wouldn't take him. When we eventually get hold of someone who knows what's going on the next day it turns out that things are delayed a bit and its more like Friday. Ok so my wife does a drive up mid week to see him. Friday morning we got a call s
  23. My son was up early the next morning not a problem he played outside while I had a coffee. Legoland news paper waiting for me. Then a walk around while everyone got ready for breakfast. Then down to breakfast. Included in room rate. Buffet breakfast reasonable selection. Then we loaded up the car and drove over to the park, free parking because we stayed on site although the parking attendant we got was a bit clueless. Got in Extra Brick time, so 9.30 rather than 10.00 got in the line t
  24. I tend to use the touring plans app, less intensive on the battery.
  25. What I posted above is pretty much it for activities, no master classes not sure if we could have joined the ones at the hotel or not. I don't remember them being offered at Windsor either although something my kids would love I'm sure, the price difference between the hotel and this is worth not doing them . I think my kids were almost happy that their Grandpa is in hospital there if it meant a trip to Legoland. I have stressed we won't normally stay over though. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
