  1. Same here. We've talked about going but it's hard to make room for a new place on the list when there are so many that we have to go to each trip. I'd say we'll try it one day but I need to get back to Califorinia Grill and we still have to try the number 2 resturant in the world, Victoria & Alberts! WBI
  2. Ok I'll stop complaining about the whole airport and limit it to Terminal G, lol. WBI
  3. I just realized I haven't flown in/out of Tampa since 2009, crazy. WBI
  4. Good point I forgot they were like that. But at least the spokes have a few more choices, but the hub is where the action is at in Orlando. Fort Myers has the spoke design also now that I think about it. I guess I'm spoiled with Houston, once through security in any terminal I can get to all terminals via train and it's fast. Same goes for Dallas, Atlanta, Denver and others. WBI
  5. I too have had lots of good experince when interacting with TSA agents when flying with our young kids with bottles, they did just what you said and explained everything as you were doing it. On the other hand I've also observed disgruntled or bossy TSA agents at some airports, but there's all different types of people everywhere...What can you do. WBI
  6. I was on United so I kind of figured we were in a secondary area since Miami is a AA hub. My main complaint is that the terminals are not connected beyond security. I thought this far past 9/11 the airports would be updated by now. WBI
  7. I flew from Miami to Houston yesterday. First off the Miami airport is horrible, the crappy terminal I was in was not connected to any other terminals on the secure side so unless you want to go back through security you're stuck eating at Pizza Hut. But I digress. The TSA agent was telling people to remove their food and place it in it's own bin. I had a couple granola bars in my bag but did not take them out and was not questioned. I did remove my Surface Pro 4 and put it in it's own bin (some agents call it a laptop some don't). I also took out my bag of liquids and always do.
  8. Out of curiosity I just pulled up Disneyland on Google Earth and it looks like they are working on the parking garage near I5 and on Star Wars Land. Star Wars land has a lot going on, with half of Rivers of America filled in. Nothing else looks to be started. If you go to Google Earth (not Google Maps) you can toggle on different aerials and they actually have one from October 2017 on there. WBI
  9. This is very surprising considering how busy the fall is now days. On a side note is this website new https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/gift-disney-vacation/ ???? I ran accross it yesterday for the first time. I forget where I read about it but they said it had a special offer for WDW, here it is: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/gift-disney-vacation-package-magic-band/details/ the valid travel days are all of 2018... WBI
  10. Thanks Todd I didn't know that about the Good Sam card. Honestly I have a gas now so I don't have to worry I was just curious. That's a good point, I remember back 5-10 years ago when gas was real high the normal pumps would stop at $100 for some reason. I wouldn't be suprised if it has something to do with that. WBI
  11. The "article" says they keep the bathrooms clean, I would like to formally disagree with that statement. The Flying J in Gulfport, MS was always bad, I was so happy when they opened a Love's the exit before. Seperate question, how do people fill up at the rigg big diesal pumps now? Don't they require pre-payment or a member card or something? Back in my high school days they were just like normal pumps. WBI
  12. haha Josh is probably right. I always like how he'll go back a few times to get an honest opinion of a place, as someone that doesn't get to go often now I have to carefully choose where to spend my Disney vacation time and his reviews are a big help. Overall the place looks good but I wish it had more seating inside instead of outside. WBI
  13. My 5er is only 30ft long but the cord is on the very back like yours. We back in as far as we can and I have to use a 25ft extension. I only carry the one extension and I don't think I've ever had an issue, of course I don't know how long your built in cord is. I also have run the corn under the 5er at an angle to get the shortest route. Now that I think about it I think i had to do that on our last trip in the 1000 loop because the site was long and the pedestal was far to the front. Either way I made it work with only the 25ft extension so I think you'd be fine. WBI
  14. All good responses, so far! I'll just add to go to the restroom often, if we passed a bathroom we asked my son, if anyone had to go he did too, we lucked out and never had any accidents over 7 days but I did have to run him to the restroom a couple times. Also my son likes the short urinals since they make him feel grown up, and the short sinks. We were lucky that he's never been afraid of the auto flushers. Good luck! WBI
  15. I think you're right. When we were fortunate enough to go often we loved visiting and hanging out at the resorts. Now that we are down to one trip every year or two it's hard to make ourselves relax at the resort or go to Downtown Disney. There are not way too many things that we want to do each trip and it's hard to pick what gets cut. WBI
  16. Just want to throw this out there. Our last trip we were fortunate enough to stay at the Grand Floridian and their pools did not have MB scanners, anyone could walk in and out of either pool. We thought we saw some people pool hopping but you really never know if they were or not. I do know that their pools are much larger and nicer than the Fort. YOU HEAR THAT FREE LOADERS! Go to the Grand Floridian, they have two pools, a waterfall, waterslide a zero entry, hot tub, two bars, complimentary towels and a kids play area! They also have grills near by because of the GF Vill
  17. Thanks for the reminder, I would like to plan a big trip that year! WBI
  18. I fully agree! They've shown in the past few weeks that they'll modify crusies quickly and people will still go. Heck I'd go on a Disney cruise to nowhere and I know lots of others would line up to do the same. With the western carribbean and the bahamas so far not effected I don't think you'll see any issues with cruises not selling or sailing. WBI
  19. Sorry to hear this but I totally get it, writing reports are a lot of work. I'm also guilty of reading and not posting much, sorry. Honestly with social media being so easy to post pictures and updates I don't think I'll ever do a trip report again either. I actually looked into doing a blog as a place to write trip reports for my family and it was easier and cheaper than photobucket, but it was still a lot of work. I already do a printed photo bucket for each trip, archive my digital photos, and sometime do a video for fun trips, after all that it's really hard to write a report.
  20. I was thinking the same thing, I couldn't believe how early they declared a state of emergency in Florida. Politicians are trying to cover themselves I guess. I know here in Southwest Louisiana they've gotten to where they cancel school if there's even a remote possiblity of flooded roads. It's gotten to the point where the last few storms they've canceled days too early. Harvy was a bit strange in that you couldn't tell where it was going so I can't blame them about it, but we had three days off from that storm. Then again if Harvey had moved 30 miles west we would have been swamped.
  21. Greetings, I've never done what your thinking but there are hundreds of hotels all around WDW so I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem finding one with ample parking. I know there are others on here that travel down from your direction and can suggest some campgrounds with pull thru spots. Yes if you arrive on the day of and your spot is not available yet they will direct you to the overflow lot. Good luck WBI
  22. Just wanted to add about the smaller low cost airlines. When there is something wrong with them they can delay you for days because they don't have numerous flights per day or numerous planes to reschedule you on. Just something to think about. WBI
  23. Add me to the group of not liking that Mickey. They seem to have more adult style jokes also, not geared to the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse age. Speaking of which the old Mickey animation is still around, they have a new show Mickey and the Roadster Racers. W loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and the Roadster Racers but will not watch the other Mickey annimation, he's not a fan of that weird style. WBI
