  1. I was told they require a Florida Driver's License to get the Florida Discount. We missed out on the renewal savings for our Annual Passes this year. First time ever I think. Not enough money to buy them before April 15. Cost for us would be over $2700 for the 4 of us. Too many other expenses right now....like Guardianship Costs for Shawnee. Since he will turn 18 on June 11, we have to get legal guardianship of him since he will be unable to take care of his own affairs. Even if he were our biological child we would have to do the same thing. That has not been cheap but he is worth it
  2. As my dear hubby mentioned earlier we always stay at the In and Out RV Park. It is far from fancy but for a one night stop over, it is fine. We always have a pull through and full hook up with Cable. And it is not a long drive from there to the Fort the next morning. We will be staying there again in December, going and coming, if our trip doesn't get cancelled. :mh1:
  3. Sounds like a great idea. I am sure a lot of folks would make use of your services.
  4. As my dear hubby said, we would love some of the wood. A couple of pieces would be soooooo nice. If anyone is there and can get us a couple of pieces we would be very greatful. Yes, I am back on here. Been off for a while taking care of much needed paperwork for getting guardianship of Shawnee....he will turn 18 in June and will not be able to handle his own affairs so we have to be appoionted as his legal guardians. We also have to register him for the draft....yes that is correct....the draft. Our attorney told us that when the Judge grants us the guardianship, he will also note in
  5. That is absolutely fantastic Lou. I knew you were talented but never knew just how talented. You are awsome. :heartsmiley:
  6. Every store I shop in now I find myself looking for another Mickey Waffle Maker. I was thinking if I could find one I would buy it and put it in the RV and then if a Fiend needed one and couldn't find one I would have one to hand over. Still looking. Not giving up yet. :purpleflam:
  7. Thank you Ray. Kimberly loves to give hugs, kisses and smiles. She is also a fantastic singer. You may not understand all her words but just listening to her sing brings sunshine to our home (and RV). Her Physical Therapist was saying yesterday that she is amazed how Kimberly remembers the tunes and words to all the songs she hears. I know she will enjoy seeing you in December too. (We all will).
  8. Congratulations. You got a great deal. We still hope to see you at the Fort at Christmas. So happy for all of you.
  9. I am glad we got the lift installed too. Don't know what we would do without my sister and brother-in-law. Clayton has come to our rescue so many times. Ken says I can now use the lift so he does not have to carry me down the stairs any longer. Sure Ken, I am sure you could lift heavy me. Ha! :jumpforjoy Now we just need to be able to take a trip in the RV to get away for a few days. Maybe in April for the kid's Spring Break. If they will allow the baby to go with us. I refuse to leave him with someone else but I also do not want to punish Shawnee and Kimberly by making them spend t
  10. We have Good Sam and we have used it several times and they always come through for us. I bought AAA but have not used it all so I am not renewing this year.
  11. Lou can do anything.......just ask him (or ask Shawnee). Love you Lou. :heartsmiley:
  12. This is one I will try. I love anything lemon.
  13. We live in Stone Mountain, not far from the campground. There is a lot to see in Atlanta. And a lot to see at Stone Mountain Park. Some of the attractions will cost you but there are free ones also. There is a petting zoo, the laser show (as mentioned above), snow mountain is open in January and February but you will miss that. There is an antibellium home and many other things I can't think of right now. It is 4:44 am and I have not slept. The park itself is beautiful. Enjoy your trip. Oh there are a couple of campgrounds in Nashville near the new Opry House and the fantastic Oprylan
  14. They never have to clean up baked beans when our Shawnee is there. That boy can put away some beans. One his favorite foods. When we tell him we are going to Disney World he will ask "We go to backyard barbecue?" We say yes and ask him what he wants to do there. His reply is always "eat baked beans". Now he is also adding "corn bread". :wine: :wheelchair:
  15. I have always thought the Clysdales were absolutely beautiful. They usually have some of them in the Mardi Gras parades in Mobile. I guess the problem I had, once, with the new bands is that I did have it on my arm. I am not sure I could get my leg up high enough to wear it on my ankle. But I may have to try that next year. :jumpforjoy :banghead:
  16. We stay for 4 weeks in December and there is no monthly or weekly rates. In fact, while we are there, the rates change 3 times. We are there in what Disney considers 3 different price times. It is expensive and we know we could stay somewhere else much cheaper but we love the Fort so we save all year for it. I also put the campsite charges on my Disney Visa which gives me, what my grandkids call, Free Money. I do the same for our annual passes.
  17. There is just no end to Lou's talent. You would think he would do a painting for me....or should I say Shawnee who thinks Lou is his best friend forever. He always asks to see Mr. Lou. :heartsmiley:
  18. Sorry we will miss all those going to the Fort for the 4th. We will be in Tn. Have fun everyone. :mh1:
  19. My favorites (yes I have more than one) are Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Pie. I do love apple but when I have a choice I take one of the first two. Key Lime is wonderful and I have made them and I do use Lime juice but it is a special one. I also love home made lemon pie but do not like any of the ones that are store bought. They do not taste like real lemon. The easiest for me to make is cheesecake, which is more like a pie to me than a cake. :jumpforjoy :purpleflam: :fork:
  20. Haunted Mansion will allow you to by pass the front room, where the room gets smaller, and go to the back. There he can easily get out of his chair and walk, with help, to the ride. He may have to get on the moving platform but often they will stop it or slow it down. We have used this route several times when Shawnee and Kimberly were light enought for us to carry them from their chairs to the ride. They are much to heavy now. But since George can walk a little you should have not problem with most of the rides. Good Luck and have a great time. :wave1:
  21. Hey Man, I did not see that when I posted. Stay away from this site......LOL :jumpforjoy :banghead:
  22. Every time we are at Disney we see children who have been to the BBB and all the hairstyles are the same. Everyone of them. I would love to see one that is different. All the ones we saw at Christmas (and there were many) had the Cinderella look. Maybe that is what everyone wanted but it would be nice to see one that is different once in a while.
