  1. I think we all need to start calling, calling and calling every time we see someone parked illegally. Especially if they do not have the parking permit on their window. If they get tired of all us calling and complaining maybe they will find it easier to have people out checking on the cars. It is worth a try. I work tooooooo hard saving for our annual trip to Disney and I do not want it spoiled by folks coming in and taking up all the spaces and monopolizing the pool and picnic areas who are not even paying guests. Let them spend to enjoy it too. And we never even use the pool but other
  2. They can move the bridge to my back yard. I have always wanted one. I love them but not good for trying to get something tall through it. We have one parking garage at Egleston Children's Hospital here in Atlanta that our van will not fit in. And in the newer parking garage, it is not possible to get it onto all the levels. Hello...it is a children's hospital where at least 60% of the parents have handicapped accessible vans....where are we supposted to park?
  3. We love the Back Yard Bar B Que at the Fort. It is all you can eat for one price. It is a little pricey but well worth it for the music, dancing, character greets, etc. Our son loves eating lunch at Cosmic Rays in the MK. Their food is good (hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs, etc.) and not too expensive. No characters but there is an animated character playing the piano and singing and talking and all the younger kids love it.
  4. I purchased 7 several years ago (not all at one time). I bought one for each of our adopted children (5) and for some reason 2 of them have 2 shares. I need to get 4 of them changed out to other names since they are now in Heaven. But in order for the company to do that I have to send in the actual certificates and all but 2 of them are matted, framed and hanging on their walls. One of my granddaughters also received one from a friend when she was adopted by my daughter. Anything Disney I love...... :heartsmiley:
  5. I have always loved the fact that Disney welcomed the Make A Wish & GKTW children a chance to go to the front of the line or through the exit. However, we have brought children with us who were terminally ill but we did not get a wish from the foundations so we were left on our own to tray and help them, and all our children, enjoy as much as they can at Disney. Even Shawnee and Kimberly can not stay in the parks more than 2 or 3 hours. If we have to wait 1 hour for one ride and then get another pass and wait another hour or two, our family will no longer be able to enjoy Disney. Not
  6. Retired and Happy must have really been happy when he posted his favorite shows: Ken, Snow White, Small World, Living, Pooh, Great Movie Ride are ALL rides and Snow White is no longer there. My dear hubby is losing it. LOL :jumpforjoy But I love him anyway. :hugsmiley:
  7. My all time favorites are: Hunchback (no longer there but they need to bring it back). C O P The Lion King Country Bears Beauty and the Beast
  8. We have December 9 til January 5. We booked more than a year in advance.
  9. I could never drive the RV or pull a TT. And backing one of them up......no way. I am so proud that you are going to learn to do it all. Wish i had learned to do more things like that when I was younger but always had my dad and then my husband to handle those things. You will be just fine. And as everyone else mentioned, just let everyone on this site know when you will be pulling in and there will be FF there to help you. The folks at the fort are willing to help too. Good luck and God Bless You. We won't be at the Fort until the 9th of December. Will you still be there?
  10. I saw on facebook today that after October 5 we can no longer get the Handicapped Assistance Pass. Instead we will get something that will allow us to get a pass similiar to fast pass. Does anyone know if this is really true? There are only about 4 things our children can go on in their wheel chairs and this would mean waiting all day to ride just one or two. This is ridiculus.
  11. I would love one of the popcorn buckets. If anyone there will get one for me (you can eat all the popcorn) I will be happy to pay for it along with shipping. Or if you are going to be there in December, we can get it from you then. Thanks and God Bless. :heartsmiley:
  12. DH wrote above.....we do not throw out canned goods just because it is past the sell by date. Same with other food items if they are still smelling fresh and looking good. I talk with a pharmicist one time about medicines with expiration dates being on sale. He said when it says sell by...that is what is means....it does not mean it is no longer good. They are just not allowed to sell past that date. I am careful about what I eat but I am not paranoid about it. :jumpforjoy
  13. Welcome to our crazy group of GREAT folks. :welcome2: :welcome: :partythree:  :mh1: :camp1: :purpleflam: :rollercoaster: :insanity: :thewave1:
  14. Well at they least they have a place to sleep without paying hotel fees. Wonder how these people come up with these ideas.
  15. I did check out the prices for a hotel for my daughter's family and found one really cheap. I may go ahead and reserve it for them. Can always cancel if they end up not being able to go.
  16. There are no rentals available for that time period and no value resorts......I checked those out. I guess I will now have to see about an off site motel that maybe has a shuttle to and from the TATC. Thanks everyone for your help. Love you all.
  17. Hi Everyone: Since we bought the newer RV, we do not have room for the 4-6 people who want to join us at the Fort from December 28 til January 2 or 3rd. Does anyone know where we can find a LESS EXPENSIVE place we can get for them to stay? We could rent a camper from one of our sponsors on this site if they are available and if we can obtain a site. Anyone have any suggestions? Help. Thanks everyone. Judy (Retired and tired)
  18. We were there during one of the Marathons a couple of years ago and it was horrible. Trying to get food was an experience. No matter where you went you were waiting with dozens of runners. And you hear them ALL discussing their times, etc. and thinking those medals were a reason they should get special attention. Now I admire anyone who can run those things and am proud to see those that finish and even those who try but they are not any more important to Disney than all of us are. And let's face it...most of them are there for only a couple of days anyway whereas we are all there for
  19. We were there in 1977 and 1978. It sure is different now. We did not go again until about 1996 and have been every year (1 or more times) since then. We have been more than 35 times. It is great watching WDW grow. But I loved the way it was back then too.
  20. As my dh (retired and happy) said, traveling with teenagers is a blast. Just watching the things they do is fun. When the cell phones need charging....look out. However, they soon learn to keep them charged so they will be ready when they are away from the RV. My grandchildren loved traveling (and still do). When they were toddlers/young children their parents bought them a small DVD player for the backseat and that kept them entertained for hours and hours. They never tired of it. Then they moved up to I pads and that still helps them all. Our adopted and foster children love to tr
  21. Sounds like good advice Ally. We now have our 4th RV. The first one was fine for us and we enjoyed it. However, it was small and when we started taking foster kids with us, it was much too small. So we sold it and bought a little larger one which I loved. We ended up selling it after several years for one with a slide out that gave us even more room for our now adopted children and the fosters who came through our home and lives. That one took us thousands of miles over the years and yes cost us a lot from time to time to get something fixed or something new for it. But we loved it an
