  1. Lorna if you decide to sell some of your things I would love to buy a few. I love doing the ornaments. I admit I have not done one in probably 15 years but I use to love ccs. Maybe I should start again and perhaps I would then make the time to sit back, relax and count.....in between diapers and feedings or course. I did some larger projects but I enjoyed the ornaments more since I could finish them faster. We should start a cross stitching group.
  2. Jennifer we should be at the Fort around the same time you are there. I think we are scheduled to come in on December 9. Be sure and look for the Hammetts......the Ft. Fiends sign will be out. And by the 12th there should be at least 30 large Christmas blow ups on our site......things which Lou hates to see.....I may add more just to keep him coming by trying the pop them. HA! (JK Lou..you know I love you). Good luck with your PUP shopping. You will get a lot of use out of it. Looking forward to seeing you in person.
  3. We were in site 125 for one week (with granddaughters staying in one of the cabins) and moved to 195 for the 2nd week. We LOVE site 125 but they had already promised it to others before we asked for another week. We enjoy this campground very much. Really nice people running it. :mh1:
  4. Congratulations on your PUP. You will love camping at the Fort in it. Hope to meet you sometime. :wave1: :welcome: :welcrowd:
  5. Stopping persoal golf carts in the campground would mean Disney would have to buy hundreds more to have enough to rent. Remember you can't cure stupid.....and WDW does have a few of those we can't cure. :jumpforjoy
  6. Welcome :welcome2: to this crazy bunch of fiends site. You will love all of us....even the sane ones....if there are any. Enjoy your trip to the world. You will certainly love it. :camp1: :mh1: :welcrowd:
  7. Requesting a specific does not guarantee you will get it. Sometimes we do and sometimes we don"t. Biggest problem we have had is being assigned a site too far from the comfort stations or one that our RV and trailer will not fit in. So I get to the assigned site, call and tell them we won't fit there and they usually tell us to locate one we will fit in and if it is empty they will re assign us to that one. We always note that we havd children in wheel chairs so we need to be near the comfort station/laundry and bus stops. They are usually good at working with us. Good luck and God Bless.
  8. You may be able to put 10 people at a campsite but we also pay more for the campsite than some of the hotel rooms cost. Does not seem fair to me. And I would bet we spend more than the folks in the hotels do.
  9. Glad I am not going in Sept. Shawnee (and I) would be heart broken if we could not do the Jungle Cruise. The others do not bother us.
  10. We have been staying at the River Plantation Campground since July 6th. Will be here til the 21st. Celebrating my birthday here (19th). We really like it and the people are nice who run it. We will try to get pictures and post them...once we learn how to post them. :jumpforjoy We are enjoying our vacation but it has been a hard trip. I drove the van behind the RV & trailer from Ga. to Tn. We stopped at a rest stop and a man told us we had a flat tire on the trailer. About 2 hours later we were back on the road thanks to Good Sam finding a man who could replace the tire. Got to th
  11. I like the looks of it. May have to try it sometime.
  12. Welcome. :welcome2: I am sorry for not posting earlier but we are on vacation in Tn. and never seem to stop until after midnight. Right now it is 1:23 am. I typed a long answer a few nights ago and it would not post so I gave up. We have adopted 5 children with special needs, medically fragile but 3 of them have gone to Heaven. I always say they traded their wheel chairs for Angel wings. We were in the process of adopting another 1 year old when he suddenly passed away. We usually take those who are very, very fragile. Our two are now 15 and 17. One came into the world at 23 weeks w
  13. Welcome Sparrow. Enjoy your solo trip to the Fort. You will love being there and you will have so much with the folks on this board. :welcome2: :welcome2: :welcome2:
  14. I am happy for your DD who has chosen Auburn for her higher education. However, I think she would have been much happier at Alabama...but of course I could be a bit prejudiced. Our campus is beautiful with a lot of great history behind it. Not to mention all the National Football Titles we hold. :jumpforjoy
  15. Wherever we are camping on July4th I hang Patriotic swags from the awning and put out flags of all sizes. I also decorate one of our Mickey Head Lights as Uncle Sam (costume). You can make a large (any size) Mickey Head wreath and deocrate it with tiny red, white and blue lights and tie some small flags on it. Then for the next holiday you can change the lights and flags out for something else. Anything you decorate with will bring compliments and many photographers to you site. Just have fun.
  16. I have seen sites during our Christmas Vacation with an RV and 3 or 4 tents. Will be interesting to see if there are any this coming December. I would not want that many tents on my site but I can see that it might take that many to actually sleep 10. :camp1: :mh1: :camp1: :camp1: :camp1:
  17. One day when I learn how to post pictures on this site, I will do just that. :banghead: We promise to take a lot when we are there in July and then have one of my granddaughters post them. The teenagers know how to do all that kind of stuff. :jumpforjoy
  18. Is there a new photo pass that I do not know about? We always get a photo pass card from the first photographer we see and have our picture made. We hand that pass to each photographer.as we go along. When we get back to the RV at night, I go to the fast pass website and register my card number. Next day, same card, and so on. Each night when I pull up my pictures all of them are on the website along with some free pictures of the various characters. A couple of times this past Dec. a picture was missing that we knew we had taken. I sent an e-mail and they found both pictures (from my d
  19. I knew you were going to love it. We will check in on the 6th. Am getting excited now. :partythree:
  20. Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing and making us all homesick for WDW. :jumpforjoy
  21. We have been there as early as 11 am and gotten right in.....been there at 1 and had to wait....so it just depends on the number of people who show up when you do. A few times we have taken the site assigned to us and when we got to it we did not fit in there so we called the front office and told them we had found some sites that would work and they would check them out and give us one of those. If for some reason you can't get in, park in the over-flow lot, get out the bikes and ride around the campground. Have a great time and welcome to this wonderful group of nuts.......we will be th
  22. We have a 4 seater and my husband found a way to secure our children's adult size car seats as well as a baby seat (when needed) to the back 2 seats. The two riding there are safe. I am the one who fell our (from the front seat) on 12/24/2010 and broke my arm and spent Christmas in the hospital. If I have the opportunity to ride in the back now I make sure I am securely in place before the cart moves. :jumpforjoy Usually I ride in the front with DH and our son (almost 17 and special needs) rides between us. Our son calls it looping when we are riding around the campground. Welcome to
  23. Have a magical trip. Remember to think about all us folks at home.
  24. When we throw candy, beads and little Disney toys the crowds love it. Even the Judges (Christmas Eve Parade) wait for our throws to them. I doubt there is any left on the streets when the parade is over as all the kids run into the street to get anything they could not catch. We plan to throw again this Christmas. Already bagging the goodies (not the candy this early). :partythree:
