  2. They are planning where to set off the sink hole that will swallow the Fort. This will save them on demolition costs and speed up the River Country DVC project. It will get rid of those undesireable campers and get some real $$ flowing. Why rent out a space for $125 a night when you could get $450 a night?
  3. Article in todays Tampa Bay Times. Family is at the Tampa RV show at the fairgrounds. Here's the link to the article http://www.tampabay.com/sports/outdoors/more-people-can-live-in-an-rv-than-you-think/2161382 And here's some more info about them. Follow the adventures of the Kellogg family at KelloggShow.com. They also document their travels on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. It sounds like they have the true family camping experience going on. :jumpforjoy I love this quote from the mom... People often ask Susie Kellogg how she can live in an RV with 12 children. "We don't

  5. Drove by the fairgrounds today. Multiple millions of dollars sitting there, there are RV's wall to wall. Be prepared to do a lot of walking and spend the entire day. We started pop up camping when our 4 kids were all younger, probably 4 to 11. All 6 of us fit in a small used Coleman without a stove or sink. Washed dishes outside and used an old white gas coleman camp stove. Most meales were prepared at the camper. We had a lot of good times and good memories. We got rid of it as the kids got older and got into so many activities we had little free time. Plus my job had odd days off... No
  6. That time of year the water will be chilly anywhere in the state. Anna Maria and the other communities along that barrier island are nice. There are some nice places at Fort Pierce and south.
  7. no problem. I'll check before purchasing, but one seemed like it was more for plastic/rubber and the other was good for metal. Our roof is the aluminum type.
  8. But that's why you don't have leaks! What type of dicor? The blue or the green tubes?
  9. They have manuals back to the 70's mine is an 86. I'll have to check out your link. Any hints on roof sealant? I've heard decor and siltek
  10. Good ideas there. I already printed out the manual. Now I'm trying to find the best sealant for the roof. I need to caulk some cracks in the current caulking.
  11. Is that the Dicor in the greenish tub, the edpm lap sealant? I see that it will work on aluminum material which is what my roof is. Also what is the vinyl cleaner/conditioner you mention. I'm hoping to get a few years out of this pup, so I want to get it in the best shape I can. I'm thinking of pulling the awning bracket off and resealing it instead of just caulking over what is there.
  12. Right now it is closed back up. It's supposed to rain so I threw a tarp over it. I want to get some good silicon caulk and do all of the roof joints. It looks like there may have been some leaks in the past. Overall the inside looks good. Some of the side pieces need to be wiped down again. What where do you find the vinyl conditioner?
  13. You could get one of those small brag book types of photo albums that grandmas used to carry in their purses before smartphones. They are usually about 15 to 20 pages. Just cut and slip either felt or thin cardboard into where the photos go so the pins have something sturdier to go thru then the thin plastic. Each page could be a different theme or type of pin. I think Dollar Tree still carries them. Then just drop it in the backpack for safe keeping.
  14. FloridaCamperRental thanks for the info. I set it up yesterday just to inspect it better, clean it and air it out. I only leveled it front to back since we weren't leaving it up for more than a few hours. Now next question. The owner we got it from had closed it up and left the dome light on (no cover over the bulb) and it melted a couple of holes in the bunk end vinyl roof. They patched it with tape, looks like it might be white duck tape. I'm looking for a more permanent solution. I can probably take it to a canvas repair shop, but that's a hassle. Has anyone heard of a good type
  15. Not at the Fort, but just an hour west. T shirt, shorts, and crocs while I was working on our new (to us) PUP. Around 6:30 I knocked off because of dark, and the temp had started dropping. Now it would be time for socks with the crocs.
  16. Bikes! Take the back way out, it shouldn't take you more than an hour and think of all the good you are doing for the environment! :rofl3:
  17. Found a site that had old coleman manuals. They say to unhitch the trailer then level using the hitch jack. Then raise the roof and after lower the stabilizers. That's when you slide out and set up the ends and door. Do not use the stabilizers to raise the trailer other than if you have to change a flat. Nothing about leveling side to side.
  18. --------------------------------Southern schools do go back the second or third week of August, teachers and support go back a week earlier. But they get out about the third week of May to the beginning of June. Northern schools go back after Labor Day, but don't get out until mid June. Weekends are usually crowded at the Fort and the parks due to locals showing up
  19. I guess anyone can be a Disney fan, but those three sure don't look like Disney goers. Look more like they should be running a drug cartel somewhere.
  20. It was on another post, but Krogers/Bakers had $10 off of $50 Disney cards. My daughter in Omaha tried to find them on Bakers web site, but it didn't lead to any, so she doesn't know it they had stopped them.
  21. Great resort for kids. Tons of activities.
  22. I'm going to play dumb here.... Not too hard. How do you level it without the 2 legs and the front hitch jack? That what I used to do with my old pup back in the dark ages.
  23. No A/C in the roof to worry about. Is there any sort of tan roof sealant available? On my old one I used the white mobile home roof sealant. The silver stuff is thicker, but not as good looking. Wow, I'll definitely lube everything. That's all I'm paying for the PUP!
  24. Thanks, that what I thought/remembered from way back when. The seller said after but it didn't feel right. 86 Coleman, it's about 8 to 10 foot closed. Looks like the canvas had been replaced. There is a hole (patched ) in one of the slide out roofs. They had closed it and the dome light was on and it melted a hole thru the vinyl. They used a vinyl tape, looking for a more permanent solution. Overall it seems in decent shape. Any recommendations on sealing the roof? It felt like aluminum, has a rubber/plastic strip down the center with a crack in it. I was thinking of silicone caulking a
