Hah!  Around here I'm pretty sure they hand out prizes for the best thread derailment.

When I was stationed at a weapons testing facility it was not uncommon to see a black Mercedes parked on an isolated road going into post with a guy with a tripod and camera with a large telephoto lens .  I now realize the guy was most likely Tony or Jason. 

So bizarre, once again, folks worrying about non issues rather than the idiots racing their golf carts around and kids driving golf carts, and the 100s of locals invading the Fort on a daily basis filling up the pool.

He's less than 2 hours from us and about 4 hours from home.
Being redshirted does have its advantages.  He will be on full scholarship for 5 years instead of 4 and hopefully will get started on his Master's degree.  Thankfully he isn't too upset about it.

YOU FOUND IT!!!!! We put it there the other morning after you told us you never found one. We found that one on top of a post by the 1200/1300 comfort station. Both the kids were excited to sneak into your site and hide it while you guys were there. It was really trickey because they thought you were going to see or hear us.

I think this may call for an investigation by his cousin Yuri. 
 

I just found a deal!  New Nikon D7500 will arrive at the Fort on Monday!

Hi Carol!  It's great to be back on Fort Fiends!  We were at the Fort two weeks ago (first time in years!), and now we can't wait to go back!

Every year in late winter, early Spring, the Womenz of Fort Fiends gather together at the Fort to have a weekend of bonding, frivolity, and a break from our families. (No husbands, no kids, no drama, no plans!!) (Womenz, if you want to join us, check out the WWW 2019 thread in Grand Gatherings) 
This year, the gathering is President's day weekend. To continue the community of Fort Fiends, we would like to host a Potluck for ALL Fiends that are at the Fort, local to the area, or just visiting WDW in general. 
The date will be Saturday, February 16th in the Full Hookup Loops starting around 4:30ish. Bring a chair, your favorite dish to share, a beverage, and enjoy an evening of fellowship and fun.
(There might even be a giveaway or two from the Fort Fiends store stockpile).
We will post the site number when we check in.
Let us know if you think you are coming, so we can plan for paper plates, stuff, etc.

I have friends from that area. I really like it there. 

Thanks for the information. Where in Maryland are you from? My family moved there when I was in middle school. We lived in Columbia. I went to college at Salisbury. Also went a semester to Mount Saint Mary's in Emmitsburg. 

This is a great site for getting information about the Fort and Disney. Not to mention just a fun site overall. 

I think they have 2 reasonable options to get people into and out of the new resort, noted on the below map.  The least expensive option (in yellow) would seem to be utilizing the WL's existing entrance road, and then forking off onto the bus road.  However, this would add a great deal of additional traffic to that entrance, which wouldn't seem to be ideal. 
A second option (in purple), would create an entirely new entrance off of Vista Blvd to the east of the existing drainage canal.  The road would run north toward the new resort, possibly joining at some point with the existing road utilized by the purple bus route out past the group camping area.  This would seem more ideal to me, as it would be an exclusive, themed entrance for the new resort.  It wouldn't come into view of either the campground or the Lodge.  Let's face it...Lodge guests don't want to see a bunch of additional cars streaming past their resort.  And the guests of the new resort don't want to drive by a trailer park to get to their fancy hotel room.  Everybody would be happy with this option.  Although it would cost the Mouse more money.  
I think we'll see how Disney plans on accessing the property for construction purposes fairly soon, and then maybe we'll have an idea of how they plan to have guests access it.  If they punch a new road through off of Vista, then I bet they may ultimately go in that direction for guest access.

I have never done trip reports but my wife is starting to make small videos of our trips. So this is one from Top Sail when we were there in June. This is the closest I will get to a trip report. Enjoy.
