  1. Remodeling, additions, extra infrastructure always take longer than original builds. You have to work around, reroute, and demo existing plumbing and electrical, hardscape, etc. and keep what all is being fed by that existing stuff running. AND since WDW was built on a swamp, I betcha half of that build time will be moving dirt and working foundation. BUT, it shouldn't take 3 1/2 years. Even in our area, I watched a commercial building go up next to my office building. They moved dirt for 6 months before they poured the foundation.
  2. With regards to Anna freaking out, it may have been because it was towards the last of the trip, she had been in sensory mode all week, and that was all she could handle. Several years ago, we went to WDW with a friend and her 3 yo grandson. He was absolutely awesome all week, and took everything we threw at him in stride. On the last night of our trip, we went to Rainforest Cafe, and in the Thunderstorms there, he lost it. We did have to take him out of the restaurant. Perhaps much earlier in the trip she could have handled it. The Sunday after Thanksgiving is worse than the Sa
  3. You can do just about anything except for the pools. You can explore the shops, restaurants, lounges, movie night, some resorts have storytelling, all resorts have playgrounds of some sort. Lots of photo opportunities. Animal Kingdom Lodge has great places to view the animals. All the MK Resorts have beaches to see the water pageant, you can see Epcot and Studios fireworks from the Epcot resorts.
  4. Rice Cream, Yummmm! I discovered this many years ago at Akershus before they changed it to all princesses all the time. It is now a must stop to get one every time I visit World Showcase :)
  5. Glad you made it!! The Car Care Center right outside Magic Kingdom is a pretty good shop and has service rates in line with the normal world. If you want to get your truck looked at while your there, it's a good place. Not sure on the pool, but every comfort station has a house phone. Give the desk a call and they should be able to tell you.
  6. Back when PI was open, I had a couple of trips where I pretty much did that. Go to the parks about 5pm, then over to PI and shut the place down, then by the time I got back to the Fort, showered, did some laundry, and chilled in my chair for awhile, it was close to sunrise before I went to bed.
  7. I've always called it the Studios. Way back in 1997 on our very first trip, the rumors were starting to circulate that the MGM name was going to be dropped, and the marquees on the buses simply said "Studios", so that is what I've been calling it all along.
  8. Moonshine soaked cherries :) You should see TJs wife Missy when she has moonshine soaked cherries.
  9. The question is, can we get ourselves up and out the door, to the boat dock, and then to the monorail that early........ Herding cats is hard, herding Womenz is IMPOSSIBLE!!!
  10. Some friends of our rent a house off of 192. Very reasonable. I'm not sure if this is who they rent from, but here is a company on the web I found. http://www.thinkvacationhomes.com/
  11. Very nice!! I've wondered about the B resort. We've stayed at the Holiday Inn next door sometimes for first night arrival, and enjoy that also.
  12. It was definitely pay to play from what Curt told me, and if you didn't pay, you could still be a vendor, but you weren't allowed to set up the camper until your clients had arrived. Curt didn't want to pay, and he didn't wan't to have to set up campers at all hours.
  13. Well, Resort Airline Checkin is tied to Magical Express, but you don't HAVE to board the DME bus after using the checkin
  14. Oh, FYI, and this has been a few years ago. A friend of mine had camping reservations for a 3-week period including the first weekend of December EXCEPT for one Saturday night. (He came in the Sunday after Thanksgiving). He figured if all else failed, he could grab a hotel for that one night. Once he arrived, they were able to accommodate him for that Saturday night without issue.
  15. One thing that does happen in the first weekend of December is Pop Warner football. They take over the value resorts, and I would hazard a guess that many of the families also camp.
  16. NuCamp/Pleasant Valley also hosts a rally each year for T@Gs, T@Bs and their Cirrus Truck Campers. They provide factory tours, answer lots of questions, and a great week of fellowship with other owners. They do provide some repairs/modifications right there at the rally, but do charge for parts and labor. However, even though they charge, it is very reasonable, and it's wonderful to know that the repair is done by factory personnel.
  17. You may be right. I was just guessing it was something similar to the way the Japan parks are. Disney forces the quality and the Oriental company (can't recall the exact name) has to spend the money. (And it's paid off, by the way) From what I've read the Japan parks are the best.
  18. Christmas week really needs to be booked by phone 500 days out.
  19. If you have a preferred site reserved, pay attention to Loop 100, 200 and 300. Those are the only preferred loops. I would iterate the lifts in the fax mentioned above. They will do their best to accommodate you.
  20. CentraCare near Crossroads. They even offer free transportation from your resort. https://centracare.org/florida/locations/lake-buena-vista-centra-care/
  21. I'm guessing it will be very similar to the in park First Aid Centers. Rick had a diabetic issue in the MK one time several years ago, and we went to the MK first aid center. We got some orange juice into him, and they did hook him up to some monitors, checked his blood sugar and let us rest there until he stabilized. If I remember correctly, they did take some insurance information, but did not charge us for anything. The offered to help us get to the next level of medical attention, but we refused. His sugar level did get back to normal after a bit, and we went back to the hotel. I
  22. For some reason when you said Wallpaper, I was thinking of real house wallpaper......
