  1. Carol acared me, but its the only day they will be their only park day. Hopefully we will be lucky and the rest of the park will be a ghost town, doubtful but theres always wishful thinking.
  2. From what I've seen they havent released the dates of the parade taping yet but seems to be the first weekend in December. Woukdnt you know that is the weekend we arrive and have friends coming up that Friday and Saturday to stay who would like to go to the MK. Has anyone been in the park when they are taping the parade? Will attractions be packed? We will probably do a few hours in the morning then head back to the fort for dinner and naps then back to the MK for fireworks and more rides. Im not surr if they will want to see the parade or not.
  3. We looked into a few places a while back when we were thinking of leaving the trailer in orlando area for a few months. http://www.unclebobs.com/celebration/ I think they have changed owners since we looked and I dont remember the prices but was a nice looking secured place when we visited. http://www.tropicalpalmsresortfl.com/ I cant remember for certain if they had a storage area on site or not but do know they had seasonal rates when we looked. Seemed to be a decent place and when we visited there was a guard at the gate. Its right behind old town on 192 not to far from the Fort.
  4. Instead of a rescue/shelter, look for someone or a place that specializes in therapy dogs or training therapy dogs. If you cant find anyone online try calling local hospitals, nursing homes, or rehab/therapy centers and asking for referrals. I woukd ask them about coming to your house or another place your daughter is familiar and comfortable with (where shes on her turf). If thats not something you want to do you could ask about places that they go where you would be welcome to join. I'm not sure in your area but around here there are a lot of people with therapy dogs (real therapy dogs t
  5. This fire pit is on my wish list. Like that it can be used without the top and screen if youre someplace that thats not required, plus that it can be packed up looks travel friendly http://www.walmart.com/ip/Masterbuilt-The-Grizzly-Cub-Portable-Fire-Pit-and-Grill/11170387
  6. We have not stayed in a cabin in probably 20yrs. Just book a cabin for 2 nights for some friends of ours who will be coming up for the beginning of our December trip. We will hopefully be in the 500 loop and only bringing one cart up, friends in cabins will be bringing bikes with them. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for the cabins, it will be friends first time at the Fort.
  7. If you found the fonts you like, maybe print them on regular paper then use transfer to get the outlines onto the dresser or cut your own stencils. Distress and the make a "antiquing" glaze that you can paint over the entire dresser to give it that faded look. We got a clear glaze at home depot that you could have tinted any color, did a dresser with the antiqued color, and had some with a little red in it we used on walls.
  8. Great show, went for the first time in September. Like Ray said get there early, we arrived a little early for his later show and were able to just hang out till a table opened up but I could see that not happening during a busy time of year. His show is permanently on our to do list now.
  9. If by food tent you are talking about a screen room/easy up canopy type thing from what I understand and have seen those don't count as tents. I have seen sites with multiples of those along with an rv and a sleeping tent.
  10. I would say it all depends on the day and the ranger. I have seen lots of people with tents staked out off of the concrete in premium sites, many even way back off of the pads. We tend to stay in the 500 loop 528-540 on the outside of the circle and I have noticed a lot of those sites have areas "cleared for tents" some close some way back by the canal.
  11. I just wanted to say congratulations on your upcoming wedding and trip. Im sure there are others who have stayed at the lodge since last time we did, which was right after it opene will be by soon with suggestions. Though an extra day at Disney will be nice no matter the room.
  12. When we were there in June there was a "ranger" that was literally chasing people down to yell and I mean yell, there was no nice sorry to bother you but this is what you're doing wrong. He was full on whistle blowing, yelling, taking names and site numbers. I think by the end of day one he had probably threatened to have everyone in the park kicked out and banned. For one thing or another. I think the only time he stopped blowing his whistle was when he was yelling at someone. I havent seen or heard him since, I think he took ever rule ever written for the Fort as the final ruling. Id say he
  13. During our labor day weekend trip the site next to us had a truck and an suv parked on it (which wasn't a problem) the problem came when a guy pulled up in another truck and parked half in the road. Getting out and loudly announcing there were absolutely no parking spots open in the overflow lot so he would have to park like that ( there were people out on all of the sites around). Well wouldnt you know 5 mins later when we left there were still plenty of spaces open in the parking lot (just none close to the bus station). He stayed parked like thay the rest of the weekend and come sunday I s
  14. I would like to thank everyone who helped out with suggestions. We looked and looked decided on new found the truck and bought a different one. 2011 F250 lariat 6.7 Diesel with only 16k miles on it. Unfortunately havent had a chance to tow with it yet but hopefully soon!
  15. When we were there Labor Day weekend we saw no signs of bats.
  16. This may or may not be a deciding factor for you, but its a problem that my family came across which caused my grandpa to have to trade in a motorhome he had only had a short time. look for one with a front or back facing toilet. He purchased one with a side facing toilet once which none of the female members of the family were able to use while the motorhome was moving. (Something to do with pressure or force from the motorhome moving) they had no problems with front or rear facing ones. He was also one that when we were on the road only stopped for lunch and to sleep at night.
  17. I agree with both above We have stayed in full hook up, preferred, and premium. We prefer the premium loops especially 500 and 700, but we tend to spend a lot of time at the site and like being able to spread out without ending up in the sand/shell. Busses, golf cart, or bikes will get you anywhere youd need/want to be. It all depends on budget, availability, and your preferences. Just remember any site at the Fort is better than no site at the Fort!
  18. I hope she made good money on her books. Those court costs will sneak up on her fast when she loses.
