About a mile walk, or catch the yellow bus headed towards the Settlement and it will take you to the Lodge. Or you can take Orange or Purple to the Settlement then switch buses.

That he will. Our grands, 4, 6 and 10 had a blast 2 years ago. We went the first time without them and had a blast.

We went this past year and it was a lot of fun. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the BBQ.

Jessica - try the Shop Disney app...
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/shop-disney-parks-mobile-app/
I just checked using the app on my phone and they have the cup available to purchase for $17.95. I don't know how much shipping is as I didn't go any further than that. It came up when I did a search in the app for "fort wilderness." Weirdly enough, it didn't come up when I searched for "Happy Camper"
Oh and WELCOME to Fort Fiends!!

They have 10 kids. So even with a bathroom they would want to use the CS.

We've never tried a filter and have always used bottled water as it is pretty cheap when compared to a filter that we would only use on rare occasions. I'm also not sure that one of those inline filters would do much as it isn't chlorine but, to me anyway, a brackish plastic taste. For Florida we typically buy a 2 gal jug for the wife's coffee or my tea and a case of bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth and so on. There's just the two of us and this will usually last us a week which is how long we stay for.

It's where we plan on stopping on our way down. My wife stopped and talked to them about arriving late night and they said just go to the front desk of the hotel and they will take care of everything for you, same computer system. She said it looked fine for the overnight we planned.
Best Regards,
Norm

Campingdad reacted to DinDavie in Another loop/site recommendations post
I like the 800 loop because the sites are bigger and there is a dog walk in the back of the outside sites. Look at the sites towards the back. I love site 841 as an example. Florida does have mosquitoes but Disney sprays when everyone is asleep and they encourage the growth of bats to eat mosquito larvae. Not that I think bats are such a big improvement. May should be a good time to come down. The pool water is still refreshing, not hot, it should not be crazy crowded and if you go to the parks you shouldn't burn in the sun to badly. I found the walk from the back of the 800 loop to the pool took me 7-10 minutes and did not tire me out. I did find a thirst for a frozen margarita along the way but I'm not sure if that was because of the walk or the fact that it was 3:00 PM and I always need one at that time. I also found that a thermocell is an excellent investment if you are worried about mosquitoes. I also recommend bringing a large supply of your own bottled water. Florida tap water is an acquired taste and buying a case of water at the settlement store will send you into shock no matter what your economic status is. $17.00 for 24 16 oz bottles. Still a little chafed over that one.

Campingdad got a reaction from djsamuel in Yellow no parking stripes?
When did campers (well younger campers) become so lazy they need a golf cart every where they go!!!!!! I can understand older folks and the disabled, but healthy young folks? A lot of them cannot back their camper up and they had to buy the biggest unit they don't need. I'm not to upset at 2 cars or 10 people on a site. But I am super upset at children being allow to drive golf carts. I've had my vehicle struck by a child on a golf cart and they ran leaving me to have to pay for the damages.

Campingdad reacted to Hammer bird in Best loop for big rig (class A)
I've been mulling over posts, lists, pictures... it's still very difficult to figure out what loops are class A friendly. Obviously it's all back-in and the ease of backing in depends upon the neighbors being parked all over the place. Are some loops just easier to maneuver? I don't care about being close to anything. In fact I prefer a more remote place! Thanks

Will the dealer give you a loaner?
Will the factory pay the difference of your reservations cost between the Fort and whatever else you need to rent?
Between this site, a PUP site I go to and a couple of the "other" Disney camping sites, it seems like buying a new RV/TT/PUP is NOT the way to go.
I think someone on another site is currently fighting with Forest River over taking the unit back because of all the defects and the poor way the dealership has attempted to do repairs.
it's really a shame, you have a new RV that cannot be used for at least 3 months, but the lender will still want their monthly payments.
Sounds like the US RV business has gone down the crapper, inferior products and no way to get them repaired.
